A gem of a property on a pristine, serene lake---with every amenity imaginable. Gazebo for lake gazing , dock for swimming and canoeing , easy paddle boat , vegetable gardens , cleared walkways , vista spots to special views and meditating ... and that's just the outdoors. Inside are designer touches, new appliances, stylish furniture, natural light, large rooms, and a great bed. And best of all the hosts who love this place and love sharing it. We felt blessed.

Beautiful spot!

We loved our time here! We spent most of our days and evenings on the dock, in the hammock or in the gazebo. The hosts were lovely and allowed us to have as much privacy as we wanted.

Absolutely perfect getaway. Amazing downtime experience. The hostess are the best, staying discreetly in the background in their own space.. my husband enjoyed the fishing,the canoeing and the exploring of the area. Quiet and peaceful and hostesses who were very helpful, friendly and went above and beyond I would recommend staying here for a night a week or whatever you wish ... awesome :)

One of the best vacations

The whole property is fantastic. The lake is clear and the beach very nice. The apartment is clean and well furnished. Our host were very warm and welcoming. All in all a perfect vacation.

Beautiful lake

Right next to a beautiful lake, large kitchen and family room, nice facilities. Stunningly beautiful lake with private beach. Quiet. We had a great time.

Chilling at Fiddler Lake

Had a wonderful, relaxing few days escaping- exactly as advertised and needed. And close enough to Sydney for dinner and Louisbourg for exploring. Had a great time, our hosts were great, and would recommend to friends who want to relax after a busy adventure exploring Nova Scotia.

Relaxing escape

We were blown away by the apartment, so modern and clean and extremely peaceful, but for us it was the gazebo on the lake! We were greeted by a loon calling, an eagle overhead. It was a great time. Pleasant, friendly hosts

Outstanding

This is a beautiful property and very comfortable accommodations. Quiet and private. My husband enjoyed swimming in the lake and we had fun on the paddle boat. The hosts are wonderful people, friendly, accommodating and very helpful and welcoming. We would recommend staying here and would come back again ourselves.

Best place to stay in Cape Breton

The location of this property gives easy access to several prime tourist sites. The property and lodgings are immaculate and have all the essentials. While you may find this in many places, what was unique was the open armed welcome we received. So friendly and included us in a dinner with neighbours and community members. Great attention to details like a welcome bottle of wine, use of the waterfront, canoe, horseshoes, life jackets, paddles and a bbq. We will be returning next year to explore more of the east coast! We highly recommend this location!

Owners very friendly. Very peaceful. Lots of wildlife. Would have liked board games or a deck of cards...might be a thought for the owners...would be fun in the gazebo! If you need internet, it was sketchy to nil at times...luckily i had a book.

Our host Christine was very friendly and shared her enthusiasm about the property and the area with us. The apartment is very spacious, comfortable and clean. It's what they have done with the property itself that really excited us. Set on a lake, they have a dock to allow you to get in the water using one of their boats or for a swim. Lots of seating areas, including a screened in gazebo. They have built a meditation path down to the lake, with wonderfully musical chimes playing in the gentle breeze. Another pathway leads to two chairs where you can sit and enjoy the sunrise. Sadly we only booked one night here. Next time we will stay for a longer time at this beautiful, relaxing property.

What a wonderful place! Christine and Karen were wonderful hosts, friendly while allowing for our privacy as well. The space was lovely, and lots to do on the grounds itself. We were happy to just stay put and enjoy the time there, but C and K had suggestions for other things to do as well. They also were talking about how their community is growing and developing more for people to do in the area. We are definitely planning to come back again, hoping C and K will have us lol. They are wonderful people and we felt blessed that they were willing to share their little piece of paradise with us for a short while. We can’t thank them enough for everything.

Best sleep in years

Can't say enough about our stay. The property is gorgeous and quiet. The unit is lovely with excellent water pressure and amenities. It' is a one bedroom but they provided us with a very comfortable extra mattress for the second person. We played scrabble till our faces hurt from laughing. Christine and Karen are lovely people who offered us the a late check out time before we left. We had our dinner in the Gazebo then coffee in the morning. it was so relaxing we didn't want to leave. The water was calm, the birds were singing and the Bald Eagle flew by. We used to paddle boat to putter around the lake and take pictures. We walked around the property admired the flora which included lady slippers, Everything you need is provided and the main bed was the best sleep I've gotten in years. Can't say enough about our stay.

Lovely retreat property on a great hidden lake

Christine and Karen were both welcoming and easy to communicate with in the lead-up to our stay. They sent us a message the day before letting us know that the apartment would be open and available on our arrival as well as their phone numbers to contact for any issues. The site was as depicted in the listing, and very comfortable for two. There is no television, which was perfect for us but may be something to be aware of for others. The bed was very comfortable and spacious, and the lake is only steps away. There is a reasonably stocked kitchenette that includes a two-burner induction hot plate, microwave and propane BBQ next to the gazebo down beside the lake. Ample parking! A beautiful and relaxing retreat for anyone looking to escape (but the high-speed internet makes sure that if you -need- to connect, it is still possible.) PS: The washer and dryer was awesome, as we were half-way though a two-week trip and needed a suitcase reset!

We had a lovely two night stay at Fiddler's Lake. The spot is very peaceful with some lovely walking paths. Christine and Karen were excellent hosts and very communicative. Highly recommend!

It accelerated our decision to leave Ontario & move to beautiful Cape Breton. We have been overwhelmed by the beauty and hospitality of this magical Island and hope to offer that same feeling to others staying here at Fiddler's Lake Escape.
