Place is very comy, host was friendly but seemed to be checking up on the place often, maybe she is use to disrespectful people, IDK. The home was overall nice and had everything I needed.

I stayed in the upper unit, not the one in the picture. It was clean, but it was weird to have a chicken feeding bin taking up space on the kitchen counter. I didn't like the bathroom for a couple of reasons. There was no plug near the mirror so I couldn't see to curl my hair. Also, there was no counter space. More importantly, the tub was unusually high. It was difficult getting in and out. There should be a grab bar to hold on to. Most of all, I didn't appreciate the owner spying on me. I was there visiting my sister, and she dropped me off every night. On day, one, the owner messaged me and asked if more than one person was staying because she saw more than one person. She pretended she happened to notice since she lives across the street. That's not true. She lives in another house a few streets away that she also lists offering a room only. The truth is she is watching the comings and goings on the Ring cam mounted on the porch. That made the whole stay uncomfortable.

Swanton is my new adopted town!

Amanda is an amazing host and the property is fabulous! An old house that was totally remodeled from top to bottom. Anything I needed Amanda was quick to respond and made me feel right at home. For anyone wondering about the internet it's blazing fast! Grocery store and restaurants within a mile or so and was real convenient to Toledo but most of all the price was right! I would stay here again and recommend anyone I know to stay in this bright, clean, updated, and safe house. Thanks Amanda, well done!!!

Overbearing Host/Not as listed

The host is a poor communicator and unprofessional. She frequently gives vague information, doesn’t answer questions in a clear way, and talks negatively about other guests. Even though it was listed as self check-in, she saw my truck going through town, assumed it was me, followed me to the house, and without asking me if I was ok with it, gave me a tour of the house. I was very uncomfortable. In the week I was there, she visited the property all but one day. and that day her mom came. She entered the unit I was renting twice and her mom entered once. She did ask for permission, but I was just tired of my privacy being invaded so much. The other times, she just waved at me through the windows. The house has three units and is very loud. I could hear the upstairs tenants having normal conversations. There is a train track within 100yards as well. The apartment was listed as being stocked in the kitchen for cooking, but there were not normal, useful things in the kitchen. The trash can is located in the laundry room and not much cabinet space. Every closet and cabinet in the place was mostly full of unhelpful things, leaving no room for unpacking anything. Lamps were scarce. Some of the decor was even kinda creepy. I was there for work and needed a quiet place for a month to get things done. I got the opposite of what I needed. To cap it all off, I injured my back and had to leave three plus weeks early. But, host said no refunds. Not shocking after my experience.
