The Eclectic Cottage - Bike the Trace

You're at home away from home in this charming 1940's 2 bedroom cottage! It features a kitchen stocked with essentials, a full bath including a walk in shower, 55 inch smart TV in the family room, and on demand hot water. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood just minutes away from award winning restaurants, nightlife, The Hattiesburg Zoo and only steps away from the The Long Leaf Trace.

Our home is over 80 years old and though greatly cared for shows its age in some places. Expect to find some loving wear, quaint aging, and charming patina both inside and out.

Pets are accepted on a case-by-case basis, please reach out first. There is an additional cleaning fee for pets.

A permit is required to ride your golf cart on The Longleaf Trace. (only battery-operated vehicles are permitted) If you are bringing a cart to take to a Southern Miss game/tailgating let me know and I will send over the application for the permit needed to take your cart on The Trace. Permits are processed by mail so please allow ample time for processing.

A starter supply of essentials is provided for convenience including coffee/cream/sugar, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry pods, dish soap, hand soap, shampoo & conditioner, body wash, lotion, and makeup remover wipes. These items are not restocked durning your stay.

Second stay

Great little spot!

This home was the perfect weekend spot while we were i. Town for the USM game. Closer to campus and stores but still a very quiet area. Owner was great with communication. Everything was clean and well maintained Definitely a hidden gem!

Great place for a weekend stay to visit my daughter at USM for Family Weekend. It was exactly as described and very clean. Walking distance to the University as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Great use of space!!

The house was clean. Neighborhood was quiet and conveniently located to USM, Hattiesburg Zoo & Waterpark. We enjoyed the Saturday farmers market and downtown as well. Everything within a less than 10 minute drive. We live in a 2700 square foot house and loved our stay at the cottage! It was a spacious layout in such a tiny home!!

Adorable House

Loved everything about this little house. Perfect for me and friend to visit a friend and her new baby. Loved all the cute touches. Beds very comfortable really appreciated the temp of the house and lights on when we arrived. Would be good to have some extra TP for us to refill and maybe some tissues. Would definitely stay here again.

Stay for SMU Baseball Game

Home was as pictured. Easy walk on trail to SMU baseball. Trail had lights so felt safe for the family to walk home after dark. Wanted a kitchen and two bedrooms which is why we chose the home over a hotel. Beds were comfortable and good water pressure in shower. Older home but clean. Also walked to and enjoyed the coffee shop that the owner recommended. Dinner at Murky Waters BBQ and Keg and Barrel were good.

We had a great stay over Thanksgiving. Family lives close and this trip allowed us to spend time together. Small issue with the heat, but the host took care of it immediately. Great location for USM and restaurants. Loved the decor and the home away from home feel.

Perfect Location for Cycling the Longleaf Trace

The house was in the perfect location to access The Longleaf Trace. Lots of amenities were provided that made the stay very comfortable. The decor was impressive too as well as communication with the owner.

Perfect Place to Stay for a Weekend in Hattiesburg!

We were in Hattiesburg to see a show at The Saenger Theater. This was a perfect place to stay. The house suited our needs to a tee. It was immaculately clean, and it was convenient to downtown, great restaurants, and USM. We also loved that it was adjacent to the Long Leaf Trace. Sophia is an excellent host. She's friendly, responds quickly, and definitely shows that she cares about her guests. Would stay here again on another trip to Hattiesburg. Thank you so much, Sophia!
