Outbanks Sanctuary

My family and friends had a great time. The house was airy and comfortable. Short walk over the dunes to the beach. It was away enough from the touristy areas so the beach was not crowded. Plenty of games to play and a jacuzzi to relax in.

House is for sale. Owners slacking on upkeep. Far from luxury.

Initial thoughts on arriving were that the home was nice in a convenient area to the beach. The good - close to the beach - Salvo is a cool little beach town with some good spots to visit The bad -the beds downstairs might as well be a piece of plywood. If you have trouble sleeping on the floor, I would suggest looking elsewhere - downstairs bedroom has the water heater in the closet next to the “bed”. You’ll get to hear it vibrate and buzz all night -2 of the 4 bedrooms have a tv and they’re about the size of a laptop monitor -internet worked for us for about 3 hours per day -the owners of this house are trying to sell it and the upkeep is not to what I’d expect to be VRBO standards. I pay more for VRBO rentals with the expectation that they’ll be better kept and nicer homes. Walls are scuffed everywhere, holes in the walls where tv’s used to be hung up. - I’m not 100% confident the comforters are washed often. The matching decorative queen pillow cases were discolored from not being washed. -there’s no additional pillow cases to even swap out the dirty ones they provide -I wasn’t sent check in instructions until I reached via messaging on the app the evening before to ask for them - listing says $200 pet fee. I reached out saying that we weren’t bringing a pet and she responded saying we wouldn’t be charged a pet fee. 3 days before our trip, I asked if we could in fact being a pet and was told no pets allowed by her. ??

OBX Salvo Gem

This house met all of our needs! The uncongested area made walking and biking enjoyable as well as easy access to the beach and Sound. The location was quiet and off of the main road with an additional bonus of looking out over the dunes. The owner's binder provides a wealth of info to enhance your stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the OBX!

Great Home with an Unbeatable Location

Spacious, impeccably clean home with beach access just steps away. The home had everything we needed. The hot tub was a great place to relax in the evenings. The hosts are wonderful and very quick to respond. I would highly recommend staying here and would absolutely stay here again!
