Wonderful short stay at Deja Blue Bungalow

We had an excellent stay in Gainesville at Deja Blue bungalow. It was exactly as shown in photos, beautifully renovated and decorated. It was very clean and well maintained and we had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely return to Gainesville and hope to stay here again. The home was perfect for our needs, super cozy & comfortable in a safe and convenient location. Thank you!💙

Relaxing Respite

Busy weekend celebrating a 90th birthday. Cute, quaint retreat to prepare food to take to celebration and rest between events.

Cozy Bungalow

Very comfortable bungalow close to UF. Nice amenities. Bring all necessary food and condiments though as kitchen is bare of pantry items. No olive oil or cooking spray for pan. Nice floor plan bath tub deep for nice soak.Enjoyed the location to hiking trails and parks.Many restaurants close by as well.

Cute older property close to downtown, just east of Duckpond neighborhood. Property was clean, but not as fresh as pictures appear (couch covered with throw, no rug in living room, baseboards scuffed up). Shower inside small tub was uncomfortable with surrounding shower curtains. Height of tub required big step to enter and nowhere to hold on. And the tub was not secure; there was slight movement. Biggest issue was someone unlocked door and entered living room while we were there. Property had been double booked. Second family had our entry code! Fortunately, we talked to the other family and they left without making any fuss. Host stated that the other family had booked for next year. No other explanation or apology. Host did not change our entry code. Why did the other family have our entry code when code is supposed to be provided 24 hours ahead of stay?! I would not recommend this property.

Little house in Downtown Gainesville

This property is a cozy little cottage about 1/2 mile east of Downtown Gainesville. It is a bit off the beaten path for a game weekend, so you need a car to get to around. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars in downtown to enjoy. The house has easy access and lots of parking. There are 2 bedrooms (a queen and 2 twins). There is plenty of space to have dinner and sit around with friends and family. We were only there for one night after a football game, so we did not cook or use any of the amenties. But the kitchen seemed to be well outfitted to cook a small meal. All in all, this house was perfect alternative from an overpriced hotel on the edge of town. We very much enjoyed the comfort of having the space, quiet and ease of a house for a game day weekend. Thank you, Melissa for sharing your home.

Worst Vacation Rental Ever

We arrived at 3:00 for check-in, contacted owner for lock-code. They replied that the space was still being cleaned and that we should come back at 4:00. We used the time to shop for food for the week. At 4:00, still no code, but cleaning person let us in. We put our groceries in the fridge. In the morning we found that the refrigerator wasn’t working. We let the owners know about the problem, they said they had provided a mini-fridge, (totally inadequate for our needs.) We asked them to call out a repair person, they said that it could not be repaired. Which means that they knew it didn’t work but didn’t tell us until after we moved in and our perishable food was ruined. It took them four days, with Vrbo’s intervention, to replace the fridge. I had asked them before we rented if there was an outdoor grill, they affirmed this. I bought charcoal and a chimney starter, opened the Weber, and there was no grate upon which to grill. A few days later I woke at 5: 00 am to find that the toilet was clogged. I called the owners and a management company whose number was provided in the orientation book, which mentioned that we could get a response within an hour. By noon, we had heard nothing from them and we packed up and left, several days early, forfeiting the rental for those days just glad to be out of there.
