The space
Hassle free retreat!
The house is fully furnished with everything that you would need for your stay. From a fully stocked kitchen with a variety of pots, pans, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, fresh coffee, coffee mugs, tea, to fully furnished bedrooms with fresh washed and sanitized linen with enough towels of all sizes, shampoo, body wash and what not..

There are enough sofas to relax all over the house, just to be accurate - we have 7 sofas around the house!

Oh.. I almost forgot, we have a huge fun area which has lots of games for kids and adults, a bar and exercise bike and of course an electronic arcade game and you know what else - a competition basketball game. Woo, This is going to be fun!!!

Great stay in the Catskills

It was a great place to stay, both checkin and checkout were easy to take care of. The place was clean and it kept us nice and warm during the coldest part of the season yet.

Disappointed

We book large houses a few times a year for get togethers and unfortunately this was not our favorite. The home was very large with plenty of space for everyone and many comfortable beds. The rest was not so good. Open electrical outlets in side room and basement Broken games in basement, basketball hoop destroyed, fooseball broken no balls, kid pool table( broken sticks/not adult) Dining many broken chairs Broken ceiling fan upstairs and wobbling, falling down No pot holders, can opener, peeler, no pans for oven, strainer dirty sponges, had to buy stuff for kitchen Uncomfortable couches. Very dirty rug upstairs Leaking tub in master bedroom Very small fridge! We had no room for our food Many closet doors are broken Fireplace doesn’t work. Broken pool equipment in yard. Radom tools in yard, safety issue for kids Fire pit is a pile of broken bricks Directions take you down an old dirt road, avoid if you don’t have 4x4 And lastly there is nothing to do in the area at all. Over all the home was much more run down than was depicted in the photos. And we were not made aware of all the broken toys that we planned on to keep the kids entertained. Not worth the money at all.

Unsanitary Property, Incorrect Code, No Hot Water/Heater, MIA Manager for 25 Hours, & Extortion

Upon arrival, the code that was provided did not work. Had to wait for 20 minutes outside. The entire house was unsanitary (hair on the beds, hair in the sink, unvacuumed carpets, dirty sheets, pillows on the floor, dirty grill, and much more). Property Manager admitted that he forgot to clean the property and offered us one of another properties that he manages nearby for free instead. Day 2: While my family was hiking at a mountain, the manager asked us move back to the original place since he already had other guests reserved in the property. We reluctantly agreed that our family would cancel our plans for the day and went back to the property so that we could pack, drive, and unpack one more time. The manager offered to give us more than 50% refund from our entire stay via text message. We found a rotten hamburger patty and hotdog in the oven. We sent a photo to the manager as an evidence. The basketball game machine was placed in an unfinished room with buckets of paint, open bundles of insulation, & loose wires on the wall. This was a safety hazard. Reported to the manager there was no hot water for shower, but no responses. Everybody took a cold shower. Next morning, we found out the heater wasn't working either. The highest temperature in Wurtsboro, NY was 61 degrees. Still no responses from the manager. We reported this to VRBO customer support, they couldn't get hold of the manager either. They notified the manager about this incident via email. The manager finally responded that he was off-line for 25 hours. Since we were leaving the next morning, we asked for a full-refund and the manager responded with, "Okay, Thanks". After checking out, we asked the status of our full-refund. The followings are his direct quotes: • "Question- Are you going to leave me a negative review if I give you a refund?" • "I never agreed on a full refund. If you plan on leaving me a negative review I will not do it" We have contacted VRBO customer service several times (5). They opened the case (36261961) and we submitted a letter and evidences via emails. From our experience, VRBO does not care, respond, support their customers. Twice, I was on hold for more than 1 hour while they were trying to connect me to a supervisor. Both times, they abruptly hung up on me while I was still waiting. They promised that a supervisor would call me back, but no follow-ups still yet. Have much more to share, but limited space. Hope this helps...

Nice stay!

Overall we had an enjoyable stay. The property manager was responsive throughout the trip and even provided a pack and play for our friends' 1 year old to sleep in which was so helpful. We stayed during a heat wave too and the AC in the house was a true workhorse. Only drawback was no TV in the main living room and the deck could've used some tidying, but neither detracted from our trip. Thanks!!

Great for large groups

Everyone in our group enjoyed this house. Our four families slept 16 people comfortably (we didn’t even use the futons in the basement). The common areas in the basement, breezeway, and front and back decks gave us plenty of room to enjoy ourselves. The secluded yard also provided plenty of space for our yard games and activities. Kitchen was well equipped and the house was clean. The host’s responses were prompt and helpful. Recommended for large group or quiet weekend away!

Accommodates large family and extended family

This house was easy to access. Fun basement for the younger crowd. Lots of bedrooms. They provided a pack n play for the grand baby, two washers, two dryers, a full bath in basement and two full ones upstairs so no waiting for bathroom/showers fun backyard with trampoline and nice deck in back and front.
