Welcome to the Heart of Helen, Chalet Munich

Welcome to the Chatthhoochee National Forest in North Georgia Mountains where year round adventures begin. You will park your vehicle and walk almost everywhere in Downtown Helen. So much to do with shopping, dinning, golfing (mini and 18 holes in Innsbruck), tubing, gem mining, roller coaster, zip line for all ages and the list goes on!

Chalet Munich is located above a retail space and the hours of operation are 11am-9pm. The guests will have the entire upstairs floor for their privacy. Chalet Munich is not handicap friendly and stairs are needed to enter the unit. The parking is in the rear of building for one vehicle. The interior is a modern rustic with handmade wooden furniture. You have your own private balcony with a city view.

The location is excellent. The room is extremely comfortable and the balcony is a nice touch. The dedicated parking spot proved to be both convenient and valuable in this popular tourist destination.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Great location and cozy space. We were shocked to find that there was no bath soap, only liquid hand soap on the sink, hair in the shower, and a red sign on the toilet tank directing everyone to dispose of tissue, etc. in the trash and not to flush. There was no sink, except in the bathroom, which made filling the coffee maker a bit difficult. As for the location, it was fantastic, unless outside noise and light bother you. The room was never “dark” as the outside lights of the business below were on all night.

We could not have picked a better spot. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. The cabin is not large, but it’s perfect for two people. The cabin was very clean and the owners were very responsive to any concerns or requests we might have had. You won’t be disappointed this was a great get away location.

The location is fantastic and the chalet was spotlessly clean. There were plenty of nice, thick towels, etc., and the hostess even left us a bottle of bubbly for our anniversary, which was so nice and thoughtful! We also had our own private parking just steps from the door. Also, after a full day of tubing and walking, we were too tired to go out for dinner, so it was perfect that we were staying above the best “dogs and beer” in town! Dinner was divine! Our only suggestion is to take a sleep mask, because it’s bright in there all night long, due to streetlights being all around, plus the sun hits those mini blinds bright and early! Some small blackout curtains could easily alleviate the problem and make the stay 100% perfect-o!! We loved our time in Helen very much and look forward to another visit to Chalet Munich!

Great location

Overall, we enjoyed this location a lot. It was in a prime location and easy to access. The bar downstairs was also super neat with a kind staff.

Absolute Perfection!!

It's a beautiful spot, above a shop with amazing staff, (shout out to Johann, Sara and Alex) and by far the best pretzels in Helen. Everything is a short walk and if your a people watcher, sitting out on the balcony will be your thing. Absolutely loved our stay and we will be choosing our dates to visit Helen based upon the availability of the Chalet Munich. Thank you Bruce and Christy.

Weekend getaway

Stayed 2 nights and couldn't beat the location. The rental was cute and clean. Great communication from the property owners. Would look to stay again on our next trip to Helen, if available.
