"THE NEST" @ the lake.

Reconnect with your sweetheart at this romantic lakeside escape . Watch nature wake up as you enjoy your morning brew. If you are feeling adventurous there is a rowboat waiting for you at your dock. And you are getting away to relax , right ? This is a delightful property for lounging... with twin swings on the deck and a hammock in the yard. End your day watching the sun set over the lake.

This property has everything you need for the perfect getaway ! The kitchen is tastefully furnished and the luxury shower feels amazing. The queen loft bed is sooo comfortable and the decor is sweet. The sofa pulls out to a double sized bed. And a pack n play is provided for a little one.
Out doors there is 2 decks facing the lake. The top deck has a patio table that seats 2. It also has a live edge oak bar with 4 bar stools. The lower deck has 2 comfy swings making it the perfect quiet spot for reading. You can fish from the dock or if you want more adventure , "THE HERON" ; a 12 foot boat is waiting for you. It is equipped with oars and a trolling motor. The side yard is just as fun! From the fire pit , complete with luxury Adirondack chairs, to a two person hammock and a gas grill.

Pa is a lovely state! There is numerous hiking and biking trails nearby. The Pinnacle Lookout is our family's favorite hiking spot . Hawk mountain is a great place for bird watching . Visit the many wineries and unique local markets in the surrounding area. Explore Crystal Cave , there's also Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom 30 min away. Grocery stores and restaurants are just a 15 minute drive from The Nest.We provide roasting sticks, firewood, and fire starter for the fire pit.
And yes, fishing is absolutely allowed! (catch and release) Along with the rowboat we provide fishing rods and some tackle . Here is a list of the different types of fish that have been caught : Large mouth bass, Catfish, Yellow perch, Carp, Bluegill / Sunnis & Crappy bass.
(Note: the lake is for boating, paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing only. Sorry, no swimming.)
The TV is a Smart TV. And we have good WI-fi @ The Hammock, so you can stream using Netflix, Prime etc. (remember to bring your log in (passwords) info. We provide a DVD player and have a small DVD library.
Please note; while there is great WI-fi , cell coverage at The Nest is limited . Drive a few minutes down the road for service.

Adorable, clean, well stocked

This was a very nice place to stay with everything we needed. It was very clean and well decorated. The view is excellent and the fishing was great too. We caught catfish and carp.

Perfect little place on the lake

Our stay was amazing, the house was perfect, extremely clean. The location right on the lake was great and it came with everything possible to make it a great stay, plenty of things to keep the kids entertained as well

Perfect little getaway

We absolutely LOVED The Nest. The views, the decor, the boat, the wildlife and the hammock swings-we loved it all. It was cozy, comfortable and soooo relaxing. You won’t be disappointed. We can’t wait to come back

Burrowing at the Nest (8/27/22 - 8/30/22)

We had a great time at The Nest! The place is beautiful and clean. Owners Ivan & Marian are welcoming and accomodating should you need to reach out! We spent our time visiting the surrounding area throughout the day, but when we came back to unwind, it was peaceful, quiet, and very much relaxing.

Tucked away right past Reading, this property was a perfect getaway for me and my wife. She was able to paddle board on the lake and just reset.

The nest

The nest was an amazing by the lake house. It was clean and very well maintained we had everything we needed in the house and more!! Definitely recommend this for a couples get away or a fun family trip!

Family Vacation 2022

This property was nearly perfect!! My 14 year old was a little bummed he wasn’t allowed to swim in the lake, but not a deal breaker. The property was immaculate and provided everything we needed; nice, quiet base for our theme park adventures.

Lakeside Retreat

The hosts provide so many extras and its very clear they spent a lot of time renovating the property. The yard is well landscaped and the decor was fresh and inviting. We had a lovely time relaxing and painting landscapes by the dock!

Dream Re-connection

This quaint little house could not have been more perfect for our reconnection trip. It was so peaceful and the view of the lake from the loft was amazing to wake up to. The 2 decks offered more great views and an incredible place to eat or sit and talk. The house was so clean and so nicely done. Everyday we noticed an amazing new detail the hosts put into the property in order to make you stay as relaxing as possible. EVERYTHING was provided. Seriously! Don't overpack, especially in the kitchen! ALL you need to bring is your clothes, food, and log in information for Netflix or Prime. The fishing was great also! While we caught plenty of bass and crappy from the dock, fishing was a little challenging due to the aquatic greenry. The boat provided was a great addition to cruise the lake or to do some fishing! We can not rave enough about The Nest. It truly was a dream getaway and we can't wait to return! Thank you again for providing us with SUCH an amazing place to stay! Truly one of the best rentals I've come across!

This property is owned and managed by Ivan and Marian Zimmerman , along with our 5 children. We worked together as a family to bring 'The Nest' to life. And as we did so we fell in love with it (: We live nearby and are available as our schedule permits.

We both grew up in Berks County and we stayed : because its home . And whats not to love? The pace is slower and the scenery is lovely . Its the perfect area for a get away. The Nest is located in a quiet neighborhood in the countryside with a 10-minute drive to the town of Hamburg. It is located in a privately owned community surrounding a 24 acre lake.

Because of its peaceful lakeside setting you will leave this property rejuvenated !! We provide all you need for a relaxing time. The backyard has boat access to the lake for the supplied boat. (life vests provided) You will find firewood for the fire pit. The patio table on the deck is a perfect spot for dinner and a show. (the sunsets are amazing !) Please note; while there is great wi-fi , cell coverage at The Nest is limited . You might try to drive a few minutes down the road for service or use wi-fi calling.
