We made the retro retreat our second home because of LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. We love Scottsdale for so many reasons & are located a few min walk from all our favorite hot spots. Not to mention this allows us to be close to some of our favorite golf courses & minutes from the entertainment district. Retro retreat has awesome mattresses, plenty of board games & books, a pool, dedicated workspace, fast WIFI, & a fully stocked kitchen for you to enjoy during your stay.

Great Stay

I went to stay here to spend time in Old Town and to watch some college basketball- The place was clean, quiet, and the communication was excellent. Highly recommended.

This apartment is on a quiet street within walking distance to pretty much everything. If you like art, the Arts District is barely a 1/4 mile away. We only stayed here three nights here, so we can't speak much to kitchen necessities over a longer stay. But the bed was comfortable, and there's just enough room in the living space for some yoga stretches in the mornings and evenings. The window shades are brilliant they scroll up and down to either black out or filter in light while still maintaining your privacy. We do feel the shower head should be replaced, however the water pressure is so strong, which is great, but when that pressure comes through very fine jet sprays, it is borderline painful. It feels like needles. But another thing about the apartment is that the front door can be left open, allowing the screen door to let in fresh air, which we enjoyed. And even though we had rented a car, we of course had to hitch a Waymo to Old Town one evening what a fun experience!! They're everywhere way mo' popular than in the northeast. Sorry.

The communication for arrival was basically nonexistent. I had to contact VRBO to contact the host. I have rented a lot of VRBOs over the years and I normally hear from the host as soon as I reserve. I always receive a message a few days ahead of the stay with arrival information and always get entry instructions the day before or early on the day of arrival. So that set the tone for the entire stay. I assume this host is inexperienced. The unit is dingy and not kept in the best condition. There is lots of dirt on the walls where the A/C blows air on them. This is because the filter is absolutely filthy. We hope we don’t get sick from this experience and stayed out of the unit as much as possible. It is just not a relaxing place to stay. There is a lot of noise from the upstairs and a lot of building noise that is unexplainable. I would not waste time on this unit as there is much better inventory in old town Scottsdale.
