Do not recommend renting anything from Vacasa
The house was dirty and smelled of mildew. There was an inch thick of dust in the house, mainly in the master bedroom on the 2nd floor. The ice maker didn’t work and we told them about this and they came to fix it but it was never fixed. There was mold spots on the doors to the bedroom and the doors to outside on the deck. The golf cart didn’t work for us to be able to haul our things closer to the beach, meanwhile, everyone else’s golf carts were working. We had a major leak from the master bathroom shower that drenched the kitchen floors and was coming out of the lighting in the kitchen and they made us vacate. There had obviously been a leak there before as the ceiling looked as if it had been patched previously. We were there for my son’s World Series baseball tournament and were at the fields all day long. We were told if we didn’t have our things out by a certain time then they would remove them from the property. Very unprofessional as we couldn’t leave the fields on their time. They gave us 2 options of another home to move to, which were not walking distance to the beach. They were completely on the other side of Hwy 98. The other property had bad reviews and was only 2 bedrooms. We had 7 people, 2 separate families, which is why we rented the larger home. After those options didn’t work for us then we were told that we would be given a refund. We asked to have that put in writing, as the reviews I’ve read have said they will not issue your refund as they say they will. We have yet to receive anything in writing. They had for permission to go in to check the leak one day while we were at the ball fields. We said ok that’s fine. After further reading the reviews, it stated don’t let vacasa in your home while you’re not there. The next day, they went into the home without our permission. This home has such a good potential to be a great vacation rental home, but vacasa was not helpful whatsoever. I would highly recommend switching your property to a different rental agency instead of with vacasa, as we had family that had issues with their vacas rental property as well and was never fixed until after they left. We felt as if they were pushing us out of the home in order to patch the leak instead of fixing it so that the people that the home would be minor repaired for the people that were renting it after us. We were kicked out on a Friday afternoon and the new renters were coming in as soon as we left and the leak happened Wednesday. I haven’t had time to do the math just yet but I’m pretty sure they shorted us some money on the refund that they are supposed to be issuing this week. Families save up for vacations for years and it’s very upsetting for these things to happen. I understand we can’t help the inevitable but there’s plenty more condos/houses that they could’ve offered us. Instead, we spent a whole day at the ball fields and on our phones trying to find some place for us to move to.
