Welcome to the forest! Peace and quiet are at your doorway.

Welcome to the forest! This cozy home is nestled in a tranquil relaxing setting that will refresh your entire being. There are three bedrooms, and a full size futon; two bathrooms (one newly remodeled); full kitchen, laundry room, large deck, hot tub and a pet friendly dog run area. All bedrooms include smart TVs. Sleeps 6 people comfortably. Big back deck includes fire pit, hot tub and eating areas, as well as gas grill (you may have to refill propane in town), and breakfast nook off master suite. Wrap around deck with amazing views to relax and enjoy a glass of wine while you listen to the birds sing.

Buena Vista at its finest, you are minutes away from three wonderful hot springs, Mount Princeton, Charlotte and Cottonwood. Summer activities include some of Colorado’s best White water rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking and biking. Winter activities include snow shoeing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. Both Ski Cooper and Monarch Resort are within 50 miles for downhill skiing. There are many amazing places to eat, shop, and explore.

Garage for owner use only. Intentional misuse of hot tub or fire pit, including pets inside hot tub, cooking over fire pit, etc./$500 fine.
No smoking or vaping/$500 fine for smoking inside, there is a designated cigarette smoking area out back, on deck.
No open fires.
Please respect our dark sky policy by turning off all outside lights by 9:00 pm.
Security cameras on outside of property.

Sweet stay at the cabin

We had a great time at this cabin. It's well equipped, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay with my parents, 2 small children, and our dog. Plenty of fun things to see walking around the property, but also very close to BV and everything you can do there. Thank you so much, we hope to be back!

Beautiful place

This property is on a gorgeous piece of land. The location is close to any must-see spot near Buena Vista and a short drive from Salida. The owners are fantastic, kind and ultra responsive. The enclosed dog run was perfect for our family pet (and kids too, honestly). You can tell they take pride in their home and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Nice place

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8-day stay. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We made use of the well-equipped kitchen to cook most of our dinners. Our dog enjoyed the fenced back yard. The owner was very helpful in getting to us a package that the post office had delivered to a "package locker." We would stay again.

Perfect Mountain getaway

Fantastic Christmas Get Away

If you are looking for great getaway this property is awesome. We saw wildlife daily, kitchen was stocked, beds comfortable, hot tub was great, very App you can think of to stream (your own subscriptions). The house was decorated for Christmas which was great as well!

Beautiful Home and Great Location

We stayed here while spending several days jeeping in the area. The location was close enough to Buena Vista to give us all of the needed amenities but was remote enough to give us the feel of the outdoors and solitude. We house was perfect and the hosts were very good.

Beautiful Retreat

The Cabin in the Forest is a wonderful retreat! Quiet and peaceful, yet easily accessible to BV. Stayed for a weekend event and loved having our oasis in the trees. Mountain views amazed and layout worked well for 3 adults with plenty of room to spare in third bedroom. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The home was beautiful with all the comforts of home. Views were fantastic, Buena Vista is a great town with very good food and nice people. The surrounding 14ers were majestic and a great place to go to the high altitude. I highly recommend this home and will come back again. Thank you

Cozy cabin!

This cabin is adorable! By far one of my most favorite stays. The house is decorated, cozy and full of comfort. Throw blanks, tissues, decor...it feels like home! My husband and I woke up, still dark out and made some coffee and enjoyed listening to near by elk as the sun rose. Wonderful stay!

Relaxing week in the mountains

This property provided us the relaxing home away from home experience that we were craving. The property was equipped with everything we needed to cook, relax, and enjoy the area. Hot tub and grill were used regularly. The hammock was a favorite spot for my son. Our dogs loved the yard and access to wrap around porch. Proximity to groceries and restaurants was nice while still being outside the town. Perfect location for a perfect mountain getaway.

Buena Vista has so much to offer and we love eating and playing here! From the hot springs, to our hot tub, there is relaxation to be had. We love the quiet refuge that our BV house offers with the Dark Sky policy, its a nice change of pace from our city life.

Our house features a quiet, relaxing atmosphere; comfortable beds, seating, full kitchen and so much more, we love having our family, including pets be able to get away from it all, and still enjoy the city life a 5 minute drive away.
