Welcome to the Bingham House, a newly restored 1922 bungalow located on a quiet street in downtown Appomattox, VA. The home boasts 3 bedrooms and 1 bath.
Stunning hardwood floors and high ceilings throughout. Guests can relax & enjoy the rocking chairs & porch swing on the covered front porch. The home is stocked with games, books, TV's, wifi & lots of character. This historic home is only a short walk from the shops & restaurants on Main St & just a few steps from Courtland Field. Only 5 minutes from Appomattox Historical Park, 25 minutes to Lynchburg, and 1 hour from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We have stayed in rentals all over the world and this one ranks as one of the best. I never feel at home outside of my own but I did here. Comfy beds, none of the cheap and worn linens- these were a perfect weight and crisp, quality sheets. Beautifully appointed with plenty of towels, blankets, anything you need at arms reach. 6 of us were comfortable and enjoyed the comfy couch for movies and expensive front porch with plenty of rockers and a swing. The key to lock the bathroom door was charming and the adherence to original charm with woodwork and finishes was perfectly balanced with modern convenience. Walking to the coffee shop downtown was amazing and we enjoyed sandwiches at Carmines and breakfast at Granny Bees. The perfect quiet escape for our stressed college kid :) and for us.The tall ceilings were such a bonus I didn’t notice in pictures! Felt so huge in rooms because of them! Thank you for a magical stay in a place you could feel the love in!

Very cozy, well decorated home with comfortable beds. Stayed here for 2 nights to go to Appomattox. Enjoyed sitting on front porch and even had live music from nearby park one night.

A serene space

Bingham house is a lovely home with high ceilings and large rooms. My family was comfortable and enjoyed the quiet street and easy walk to the bookstore, park and restaurant. We were in town for a memorial service so having a serene space for each of us was a blessing.

A Home Away From Home

We loved this home! The host thought of everything from the comfy pillows everywhere to the tourism pamphlets to the air freshener to the waters and snacks. We fell in love the moment we entered the home. The home was spotless and well decorated. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch. Susan communicated well and this home is one you want to stay in. Our family has decided that we will return!! It is more beautiful than the pictures!!!

Exactly What We Were Looking For

Though our visit was short, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bingham House. The home was clean, cozy, and inviting, with charming decor throughout, and the neighborhood was quiet. The front porch swing was a bonus! The hosts knew we might be arriving later in the evening, so they left a few lights on for us, as well as some snacks & water bottles - so thoughtful. We will definitely try to stay there again.

The best VRBO ever!

Oh, my goodness - our bungalow in Appomattox was the most pleasing VRBO we have ever rented! Charming to the max, spotlessly clean, comfortable, inviting, well-furnished, relaxing, and restful. Every detail was tended to. It was the kind of place that makes one want to stay much longer. Particularly nice were the rocking chairs and swing on the front porch...idyllic. Perfect for our morning cups of coffee. Our host, Susan, was wonderful from the get-go, and responded very quickly to my inquiry about a good place to eat breakfast. Five stars aren't enough for this one; this house (and its host) should get 50!

Easter weekend

We came in town to visit family and felt mediately comfortable & welcome here. The house is beery roomy yet cozy We had everything we needed and felt very at home there! We loved being close to the Civil War attractions , and the small-town feel, complete with church bells and the train.
