Hemos sido 4 estrellas aprobados por Fáilte Ireland (Autoridad de Desarrollo Turístico de Irlanda) desde que restauramos la casa de campo con buen gusto en 2005 y comenzamos a recibir a los huéspedes.

Perfect House for Family Trip.

From the very beginning this was a wonderful stay! The house had everything we needed for a family get away. You cannot pick a more beautiful location as a home base while traveling around. Our son loved the game room and outside adventures. We can’t thank our hosts enough, especially for the little gifts for our boys, and would come back and stay in an instant.

Peaceful and good location

Monica and Sean are gracious and lovely hosts. They made our stay so comfortable. Glenview Lodge was the perfect location for our stay. Traditional Irish countryside with ease of access to great day trips (we went to Dingle, Killarney, Cork, the Cliffs of Moher, Limerick/Bunratty Castle, and one overnight in Galway, just to name a few stops). Close to our family as well. A wonderful stay with truly wonderful hosts. We can't wait to come back!!!! Thank you so much!

Lovely Place To Stay

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay. We were a family of four (2 adults/2 - 25+ kids) and we totally enjoyed the farm house. It was in a great location for day trips around Ireland. Monica and Sean were wonderful hosts. The countryside around the house was breathtaking. Highly recommend!!!

Amazing!

I cannot recommend Glenview Lodge enough! The lodge itself is charming, comfortable and perfect for a family. The location is perfect for day trips to Cork, Limerick, Blarney and Killarney. Sean and Monica are wonderful hosts and accommodated all of our requests and were always available to answer any of our questions. A trip to Ireland would not be complete without a stay here!

Absolutely heaven

Monica and Sean were delightful,nothing too much trouble, they even supplied a welcome pack, most grateful, they checked on us midweek to see if everything was OK and if we needed anything, house was large, well equipped and surrounded by grass and woodland, so peaceful, would fully recommend this property and owners to people.

Lovely property and hosts

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Glenview Lodge very much. The house was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. It is in a calm and quiet area, with an amazing view. Just what we needed to come back to after each busy day exploring this beautiful area. During our stay we visited Cork, Kinsale and Killarney National Park. There are a few shops in Broadford and even a take away open late, which we took advantage of on one of the days we returned quite late. The hosts Monica and Sean were so nice and made us feel very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and we will definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to find ourselves in the area in the future.

The youngest 27 and oldest 68, four of us all together thoroughly enjoy the accommodation. 30 acres worth of peaceful, relaxing walks. A wood burning fireplace heats up the early morning dew. House location suited our needs for visiting any south west town easily. You will want for more time.

Exactly what the pictures and description said. It was quiet and we had everything we needed.

We flew into Ireland that day so this was our place to learn to drive and recuperate from jet lag. Very quiet and nestled in the hills with farms all around. Monica and Sean answered all my questions about our first plans of sight seeing. Kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. Monica gave us a box of home made chocolates when we left and they were delicious! Thank you!

Peace Profound

Glenview Lodge is a lovely property -and what a setting! Surrounded by trees and nothing but green fields beyond, the sense of tranquility was wonderful. Great for families with small children and adults (like us)escaping the city noise. The Lodge also offers good access to local attractions and some of the 'Big Sights' like Killarney and Dingle are all within reach for a grand day out. Our hosts were always contactable but there were absolutely no issues on out trip. Thank you Sean and Monica.

Sept visit to Broadford

It was so very peaceful and was a welcoming place after a long day of sightseeing. We had a fire every night and ate wonderful meals in the large, modern kitchen. We each had our own bathroom as well as one downstairs. We used the washer and dryer. Appreciated the coffee maker as well as the electric tea kettle and French press. The lproperty was so beautiful and quiet.

Best Part of our stay in Ireland!

It was so wonderful staying at Glenview Lodge. It was REAL IRELAND. The nearby local town, Foley's Pub and discussions with Sean, food from Monica and staying in her childhood farm house all set in the most beautiful country side I've ever seen was the most authentic part of our journey through Ireland ( 10 days we spent 5 at Glenview). It was a little off the beaten path but well worth it! The house was clean, with modern amenities and filled with warmest energy. I highly recommend you take advantage of the extras that Sean and Monica provide. My husband and I and daughters age 18 and 20 y give it 10 stars!!!! Thank you.

Peaceful and Charming

We were so excited to stay here, and it was even better than the pictures or description. It was a wonderful home base, but we also spent a day there, and it was one of our favorite days of our entire trip. The home is warm and charming, filled with history and little touches, like freshly picked flowers from the property and books on all things Irish, plus a detailed folder with info on the use of the property, etc. The property was so lovely....picturesque really. We took numerous photos of the property and our family on the property. The photos came out as if they were professionally taken. It's easy to take good photos when the landscape is so beautiful. My daughter said she felt like she couldn't take it all in because of how awesome it was. Sean spent time talking with us and telling us the most interesting stories, including Irish history. We loved hearing him talk, not just for his wonderful accent, but the knowledge and passion with which he spoke, made his stories captivating. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to visit again.

Glenview Lodge was LOVELY!

Everything about our stay here was picture perfect. Monica and Sean were delightful hosts! Monica had left freshly baked soda bread for us and butter curls, milk and yogurt in the fridge and brought us a freshly made apple tart one evening - a true delight after a long day. The cottage itself was ideal. Glenview is a great name as it has a picture perfect setting and even a sweet Fairy Path outside. The grounds are lovely and large with plenty of space for kids to run around and even some playground equipment. It is also a wonderful place for adults to set outside and enjoy the view and the air. The cottage itself has a great layout with an updated kitchen and all the dishes, glasses and cooking utensils you could need along with a coffee maker and a press. The upstairs has, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths and there is a half bath downstairs. There is even a washer in the pantry area and a dryer in one of the outside buildings that also houses a ping pong table and foosball table! The property has a rich history but all the modern touches you could want. It had all the things that make Ireland such a special place - great setting and hospitality!

Fantastic farmhouse with modern amenities in a great location - plus responsive, friendly hosts

Our family of five spent a wonderful four nights at Glenview Lodge. It was our first visit to Ireland, and Seán and Monica made it memorable and superb. The property dates back all the way to the 1680’s but the farmhouse (built in 1865, I believe) is modernized and comfortable inside. It was perfect for our family: a double bedroom for my husband and me, two twin beds in a second bedroom for our adult sons, and a single twin bedroom for our teenaged daughter. Plus, the two and a half baths and full kitchen – and the ping pong table and guitar – were fantastic amenities that we enjoyed as well. The location is excellent. We took day trips to Cork, Limerick, and the Cliffs of Moher. Seán and Monica have not only decorated the farmhouse warmly, but they provide TONS of information about Irish history and local trips available to take. They were very welcoming and made themselves available to answer our questions. The best part of our trip was spending an evening with Monica and Seán as we opted for the “Irish Experience” package. I highly recommend any time that you can enjoy their company and stories, as they are lovely people who know the history and the surrounding area so well! Monica actually grew up at the Glenview Lodge as her childhood home... That evening will be a happy memory for our family for many, many years to come. They are a beautiful couple who compliment one another so well: Seán is the history and details person (he also makes an amazing Irish Coffee!) and Monica is also warm and friendly, and a superb cook. I don’t think I will ever find an Irish Stew in the States that comes close to hers. We’ve been spoiled forever… :) We highly recommend Glenview Lodge and truly hope that our family can return there one day. Monica and Seán – we wish you all the best and thank you for your hospitality, and sharing your lovely home with “strangers” who leave as friends.

lovely quiet escape

We stayed at Glenview Lodge for almost 2 weeks. We found the property to be perfect for a quiet getaway. It's up a secluded drive so we felt safe letting our kids run around the huge enclosed yard. They really enjoyed the swing set. The bedroom set up was comfortable for our family of five and the beds were comfy with nice bedding. The kitchen and living areas were good, though we missed having some basics available in the kitchen--salt/pepper, some olive oil. But we loved that Monica was kind enough to welcome us with a fresh baked loaf of bread. The living room has a nice fireplace to help warm up the downstairs when it's cold. Would have been nice to have a bigger rug in there to keep it a bit warmer--but there were blankets for us to cuddle up with at night. The place is about an hour's drive from many sights. Cork & Blarney Castle, an hour from Limerick and a bit over an hour to ring of kerry and wild atlantic way. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous and there are several local walks to do. We also loved the Saturday breakfast at Smithfield castle, just down the road. It sounds fancy but it was actually really accessible and great to take our kids to. We did most of our grocery shopping in New Castle west a slight larger town about 15 min drive. There's a wonderful health food store there called Sonas, plus some larger chain stores. And a great playground for the kids. It's definitely a more secluded area so if you want to be closer to a larger town, look elsewhere. We were okay doing 12 nites there, but we spent 2 of those nights closer to the ring of kerry and that felt about right for us. We also did Monica's homemade Irish stew which was fabulous. She baked more fresh bread for us to go with it along with a nice basket of scones for dessert. The only downside for me with that there is some mold growing in the master shower, probably nothing a bit of bleach or recaulking couldn't fix right up. Overall this was a lovely home in beautiful Ireland and we highly recommend it.

IRLANDA EN ESTADO ORIGINAL Y AMABILIDAD DE LOS IRLANDESES

Una inolvidable experiencia. Seán y Mónica se entregan con muchísimos detalles a sus invitados. La comunicación con ellos fue muy fácil y ágil desde la reserva. Los detalles en la casa (fruta, pan, café, etc, etc, es de mucha valoración. La disponibilidad de leña para la chimenea.)Los libros,(no dejéis de leer el libro de Historias sobre los Irlandeses del Titanic) los Cd de música..Y todo el ajuar de la casa que es muy completo. Las sillas, mesas de jardin, juegos para los niños tanto fuera como dentro de la casa, el futbolín, la mesa de ping-pong...Nuestros hijos se llevan un recuerdo imborrable. Pudieron jugar al escondite por la inmensidad de la finca, y las hectáreas de pradera y bosque. La casa dispone de una alarma tanto de humos como de robos que es muy eficaz y sencilla de manejar. La cocina es de los más completo. La mesa muy práctica para comer todos cómodos. El agua caliente perfecta, con regulador Nunca hemos conocido una información turística tan completa como la que tienen Mónica y Seán. Hay folletos, informaciones, direcciones y datos de mucha utilidad. Hemos recorrido muchos países. Pero la amabilidad y educación de los irlandeses es algo sobre lo que nadie puede competir. Son el pueblo más amable y respetuoso que hemos conocido. Circular por sus carreteras, que aunque vertiginosas por su geografía, es encontrarse con conductores educados y amables. La casa es de ensueño, en su distribución y sus rincones. Nuestras cenas en la cocina, y nuestras charlas. La lectura frente al la ventana trasera. Nuestras cervezas Guinness en el jardín. Y las vistas del valle excepcionales. PERO sobre todo LA COMODIDAD DE LAS CAMAS. Es la primera vez en mi vida que he dormido mejor que en mi propia cama...Y he recorrido muchos sitios. El entorno es inolvidable. El viento agitando las praderas, El verdor de los prados..El condado de Limerick es sencillamente un paraíso. Broadford es acogedor y de gentes amables. Recuerdo especial para los dueños de la tienda de Moloneys, y el Restaurante de comida rápida. Si quieren conocer realmente Irlanda y su encanto, haciendo excursiones para otros entornos debe venir a aquí. Es cierto que las carreteras de Irlanda requieren mucho esfuerzo, pero todo lo bueno supone un pequeño sacrificio Muchísimas gracias a Sean por sus gestiones de taller para el coche que nos surgió y que esta muy cerca de casa. Mucha suerte para Limerick en su partido de hoy contra Galway MIGUEL ANGEL, Mª JESUS, JOAQUIN, JAIME Y LOLA

Wohlfühlgastgeber

Wir kamen ohne Probleme zur Glenview Lodge und wurden sofort von Sean begrüßt, der uns alles erklärte. Sehr nett. Täglich erkundigten sich Sean und Monica ob alles ok sei. Wir fühlten uns absolut wohl und es war alles da was man in einem erholsamen Feriendomizil braucht. Vielen Dank!!

A very peaceful place

Wir haben zu viert eine sehr schöne Woche im Cottage von Monica und Sean verbracht. Im wunderschönen und nostalgischen Farmhaus genießt man die Ruhe und Natur im Herzen von Irland. Von hier kann man spannende Ausflüge (z.B. Cork, Limerick, Cliffs of Moher) machen und das angrenzende Umland bei schönen Wanderungen erkunden. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Centraal voor het mooiste van Zuid-West Ierland

De woning heeft veel karakteristieke kenmerken met daarbij alle faciliteiten om het verblijf aangenaam te maken. Monica en Seán zijn vriendelijk en behulpzaam, bij vragen snel te bereiken en hebben veel tips voor interessante plekken en gelegenheden in de omgeving. De omgeving is landelijk en rustig met meerdere wandelroutes in de directe omgeving. Een ideale locatie om Zuid-West Ierland (per auto) te verkennen vanaf een mooie plek.
