This lower level apartment is a beautiful oasis that walks out to the White River. Spend your day by cooling off in the river and cooking out in the outdoor kitchen. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire as you listen to the river flow by. If you are lucky, you may get a glimpse of a blue Herron fishing from the river bank, while you sip your morning coffee.
This property is perfect for those looking to take in all that the Newaygo County outdoor’s has to offer. We are located 3 miles from the M20 North Country Trailhead and 20 miles from the new Dragon Trail. For those who are looking to kayak, the White River has many options to put in and take out. The Muskegon river is just 18 miles away and the Pere Marquette is just 30 miles. If Lake Michigan beaches are more to your liking, you are just 30 minutes from the lakeshore. Please note, this property is a duplex shared with the hosts who may or may not be present during your stay. Also, the parking area is approximately 90-100 ft from the entrance door. There is a short gradual slope leading to the door. Please see photo in the photo gallery, if this could present a difficulty for you. A Dream Stay

Absolutely incredible property and experience. Heather was a superb and accommodating host. The beds are comfy, the place is spotless, and there were lots of little extras that made it feel like home. From a selection of hot teas, to chairs, and firewood by the river, Heather thought of everything. 11/10! Definitely recommend and we will be back!

Great Place

This was our second time staying here. We so enjoyed ourselves. It was very relaxing just sitting at the rivers edge listening to the river flow & watching the fish jump when we weren’t on the go. Peaceful and quiet setting. There is just a great ambiance all the way around. Thank you Heather & Ken for sharing 😊

Everything we needed!

The hospitality was excellent. We never needed for anything and the owners were always willing to help. The river is beautiful, perfect for relaxing and plenty of people kayaking for an adventure. We enjoyed using the firepit and having all materials ready for us. The place was clean and very well taken care of.

Beautiful Escape

We enjoyed a long weekend in the apartment. Everything was as described in the listing. The view is beautiful as the river flows at the back of the property. The kitchen was very functional as we made several meals during our stay. The beds and are comfortable and we had plenty of room to sit in the living room to hang out. It was like home away from home.

A Tranquil Paradise!

Everything about this property is complete perfection! All needs and necessities were taken care of, spectacular outdoor patio with built-in barbecue and seating to enjoy your meal all while listening to the soothing river. Impressive indoor wooden decor, immaculate and clean. Beds were like sleeping on a cloud with a fully adjustable electic in one bedroom. A special note here about the hosts: They were very responsive and super helpful with suggestions on local sights and activities. Ken went above and beyond by starting a fire for us in the firepit when we ran a little bit late returning from the beach. Beautiful peaceful stay here!!

A Little Bit of Heaven

We had just the best time staying at this location. It was very beautiful, inviting, clean beyond measure, and had all the amenities one could ask for. Sitting by the river was pure bliss! Everything was provided that we needed. That outdoor grill, though!! Heather even went above and beyond by giving us information on local RV parks, things to do in the area, and was communicative by phone/text though they were away vacationing. I feel like we made new friends and would not hesitate to highly recommend this location and these folks as hosts!

Nature Lover’s Dream

Heather’s rental is absolutely perfect. Sparkling clean, comfortable amenities, and an overall beautiful space. There is a beautiful crystal clear river flowing right behind the house. Make sure to bring some water shoes with hard soles to wade through. Heather and her husband greeted us and seemed like genuinely kind people . They took care of any questions or needs we had. The rental is located close to several hiking trails and about 40 minutes from Lake Michigan Beaches.

Accessibility

This property is beautiful and spotless. If you are older or have any balance issues it’s a problem because there is a long walk down hill to the property on a grassy hill to the entrance. You will be lugging your suitcase, coolers, everything downhill and worse uphill back to your car. We are ages 72, 76, and 81. If I knew this before hand I would have chosen a different place. I want to repeat, the grounds and property were pristine

Lovely home!

The property is around back and under the main floors of this beautiful log home. Still spacious and extremely comfortable, It has a wood finish on the inside and barn doors on one of the bedrooms. You’re greeted to a good size TV with streaming services, two couches and a bit of space in the living room. Windows looking out to the white river show a beautiful view of a pure Michigan backyard. To your right will be the first bedroom with a queen bed, hangers in the closet, a dresser, and nightstands. It shares the lovely view into the backyard also. Just down the hall you will find another bedroom, (bedrooms had a different mattress from what we could tell, so you have a choice of firmness!) I didn’t stay in this room so I can’t give too many details about it but it was just as accommodating as the first one, and they did have a basket full of extra blankets which came in handy. Next to this bedroom at the end of the hallway you will find the bathroom which had comfortable towels and a variety of light fixtures, making the brightness manageable and not overpowering . Half shower had a great shower head and 3 people showered without worrying about hot water! The kitchen is last but not least, though its not the biggest kitchen, and the fridge, dishwasher and oven are more of a moderate size than typical full sizes (they work great) you’ll find a full size washer and dryer, A FULL CABINET OF SPICES!!!!, and a beautiful sink with a high power faucet. I did not make food here but my girlfriend did, and it came out amazing. May have been her cooking, or it may have been a little extra spice added by such a wonderful kitchen to cook in! The host was amazing and incredibly friendly, on top of whatever questions or concerns we had and tried to make our stay the best they could! My friends and myself enjoyed this stay, and took advantage of the pleasant mood of the area. 5/5, would stay again if I’m ever in the area overnight!

Fall colors

Great location to get away and enjoy the river and fall colors. Short drive to Ludington and many orchards. Well stocked spice cabinet, comfortable and clean. Hosts very helpful. Loved it!

Girls weekend

We booked this property for a girls weekend to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday. The property was very clean, in great shape, and beautifully decorated. The view of the river was fantastic, and while sitting by the campfire in the evening, we saw a heron fly right up the river, then back down a little while later! Host was very responsive. Furniture was extremely comfortable! Outdoor kitchen was great. We appreciated all the little extras the host had available - spices, grill utensils, snacks, wine, bottled water, shampoo & conditioner. Clearly they have spent a lot of time and effort thinking about how to make it most comfortable for guests. We did a kayaking tour on the White River, and went to the farmer’s market and brewery in Newaygo. A great property and location - will definitely return! Thanks, Heather! ❤️

Wonderful Relaxing Weekend

This rental is absolutely great for small party. It was perfect for our party of 4. It was super clean and very cozy. We checked in late, but had no issues getting in. It was very hot and humid during our stay (90°F) and the cool apartment was nice relief. The outside patio is laid out nicely. There is 4 seat table on the corner that always had a nice breeze and kept us comfortable. We met Heather the next morning. She is a great host and told us about sitting in the river to cool off during the heat of the day (great advice!) . The river is amazing, but as mentioned, be sure to bring water shoes to make it easier to walk on the rocky riverbed. We cooked out on the grill and the layout was awesome. All the grill tools you need are provided, plenty of counter space and a sink. Most helpful was the small refrigerator outside as well (very handy!). One bedroom had a spring mattress and the other had a memory foam mattress. The whole area is quiet and serene. I would also mention that the town of Fremont is nearby and we highly recommend the Moon Dance Cafe for breakfast or lunch. We would stay again.
