This cute guest house sleeps 3 people. The one room cottage with a full bathroom has a queen size bed and a couch. It is equipped with WiFi, a Keurig coffee maker, small fridge, air fryer and a microwave. There is a fish cleaning station and a floating dock. The Community boat launch is 200 yards away. Also, linens included.
We are pet friendly WITH A $20 PER NIGHT/PER PET fee.

All the neighbors were nice and offered to any help if I needed it. The owner stopped by & gave me a tour of all of the amenities available and asked if there was anything we needed. The level of service was way above and beyond my expectations and I would recommend the location to anyone wanting to just relax and enjoy the lake.

Relaxing Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed our visit at the Guest House. The house was clean and well furnished for our stay. We loved the view from the porch, relaxing in the swing, and fishing from the floating dock. It was the perfect getaway for us, and we look forward to another, longer trip.

Amazing hosts with a heart of Gold. The only thing "wrong" with this place is the cellular reception! Very thoughtful and accommodating stay. We came in for a funeral and the only thing missing was an iron. But there was access to a dryer so... all and all! It was a peaceful serene stay. Wish we could have talen more advantage of the enjoying the area.

Great Place to Stay

Hosts were very Welcoming and accomodating. We had a few little tweaks but everything turned out awesome. We very much appreciate all the extra help from Rodney during our trip. He went above and beyond what was expected of him!

Check in was made supper easy, the kitchen was just as they said microwave, electric burner to cook, pot, coffee pot that use pods,utensils an a small fridge with freezer

Relaxing Getaway

I was there for a fishing tournament that was cancelled due to weather. I still had a nice relaxing time at the cabin.

Total relaxation

Very comfortable. Quiet and the cabin was clean. Cabin was found to be as posted. Could walk out the door and water was right there. Could fish or just sit and relax. If you decided to go out and eat, there were excellent choices nearby. It was good and relaxing stay.

Lovely property; lovely owners…

We’re prepping to build our forever home not too far away. Periodically we need to visit the area for various reasons, and this time we choose Hawthorne’s Fish and Fun for our 3 day stay. We switched the reservation to #3, the Blue house and it was great. Super clean, nicely appointed and met all of our needs. There’s covered parking for a boat or vehicle, with power and retractable extension cord for charging boat batts right there ready to plug in. There’s an excellent boat launch and park within a 10 minute ride. The owners, Rodney and Michelle, are very nice people - we will definitely be back!

Thanksgiving Hideaway

My husband and I had a great trip and stayed on a beautiful little cabin on Lake Toledo Bend. We had a pretty view of an inlet off the main lake. The temperature and weather were comfortable and the cottage was warm and cozy. We did not spend much time in the cottage since we were visiting with friends nearby.

Quiet, relaxing and peaceful stay

I rented all 3 of this host’s properties for my family’s annual Holiday Vacation. We have a very large family so it’s sometimes difficult to find a place big enough for all of us. The Hawthorne Fish & Fun properties were perfect for us! All 3 properties are in close proximity so it’s perfect for large family functions. This was our second year here. We’ll definitely be back.

Perfect quaint getaway for couples

The little red house is on a shared lot with a bigger house that has access to a floating dock, canoe, fire pit, and plenty of outdoor seating (including a bench swing). Indoor amenities are all that is needed for a short getaway. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

Hawthorne Guest House

Overall, we enjoyed it. But we were disappointed in the “kitchen”. It was advertised with a stove top but all it had was one electric burner with one skillet. The coffee pot was individual k cups. We took coffee and filters to make pots. The k cups wouldn’t have been terrible but there were only two of them for our whole weekend stay. And washing dishes in the bathroom sink was not great. On the positive side, the cabin was clean and very nice. The AC worked great and the outside lighting was perfect. We spent a lot of time outside on the swing.

Great Stay!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay - it was a little difficult to determine which was our reservation on the property as they were not numbered. Upon entrance to the rental we turned on the mini-split air conditioning unit. My significant other is an HVAC technician, so in his usual fashion he immediately checked the filters on the unit. It appeared they had not been cleaned/checked in quite sometime. They were rather dirty and had a collection of dead bugs. This was really the only delta we could find. Very comfortable bed, otherwise clean and clutter free. Very much enjoyed the property and reservation. We will most likely re-rent upon our return to the area this fall!

Vrbo had trouble with confirming reservation

Vrbo had trouble with confirming reservation; stayed on phone 40+ minutes with them trying to get it straight; was told they were having software or program updates, took me all day into midnight to get a confirmation email; pretty aggravating.

Mini Vacation

It’s was perfect for the girlfriend and I for the price. The place was very clean and very refreshing when waking through the door. The boat ramp is small got to back in off the main road down to the water it’s off alitttle side road.. (Don’t drive head first down to the boat ramp because then you will have to back out no room to turn around.) It was very convenient to put in and motor over to the floating dock where we stayed and bring boat trailer back to the property. Lightening could be alittle better in the bigger areas just by putting ceiling fan with light fixture would help out alot.. Don’t follow google maps to the property because it will have you going thru someone property mini golf course. The guy that maintains the property stop us and help us out to get to the property. All and all had a great weekend stay. Liens and bedding are provided even thought it’s not mention in the listing.
