Rocky Shore Lodge is one of two cabins at UT1 Cabin Rentals and is situated just steps away from Nine Mile Lake in Finland MN. It is three bedrooms, 2 bath, cabin with spacious living spaces, tv room, and loft. This cabin comes with private gas grill, large patio for entertaining, and complimentary kayak access.

Unorganized Territory #1 Cabin Rentals are located near the beautiful Minnesota North Shore of Lake Superior. Situated just steps away from the beautiful Nine Mile Lake in Finland, MN, and 15 miles from Lake Superior, your visit will leave you with unsurpassed memories for you and your family and friends. Let your days consist of waking up to the sunrise and staying for the sunset while hiking, fishing, chasing waterfalls, or adventuring out on the hundreds of miles of connected ATV and snowmobiling trails.

A Peaceful North Shore Getaway — Moose, Sunsets & Lakefront Bliss

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful North Shore cabin! Tucked away in a remote, quiet spot on a peaceful lake, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind after exploring all the amazing sights and activities the North Shore has to offer.Getting there involved a bit of a drive down winding dirt roads—but what we thought would be a hassle quickly became one of our favorite parts of the day. The scenery was breathtaking, and to our surprise and delight, we even spotted a two moose one morning!The cabin itself was incredibly well-stocked—from kitchen essentials for easy breakfasts and delicious home-cooked dinners, to thoughtful extras throughout the house that made it feel like home. We especially appreciated the kayaks for peaceful evening paddles on the lake—such a treat!The deck and backyard quickly became our favorite hangout spots. We ate dinner outside most nights, played through a fun range of games provided in the cabin, and ended the day watching the sunset over the water—absolutely magical.This place had everything we hoped for and more. Beautiful setting, well-equipped, and so peaceful. The check in and communication was very great. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect for a Girls Weekend

We had the great privilege of renting both of the cabins at UT1 Cabin Rentals. Rocky Shores accommodates our group so well and had all of the features that we needed to enjoy from sunup to sundown. The private outdoor firepit was wonderful and even with a little rain we were able to find shelter under the huge deck. The cabins were fully stocked from linens to dishes and the beds were outstandingly comfortable (where did you get those mattresses???). We spent a lot of time exploring the beautiful waterfalls of the area. Rocky Shores was far enough from the hustle and bustle that often comes on the North Shore but a perfect location for a day trip. We explored several state parks, kayaked Nine Mile Lake with their complimentary kayaks, and enjoyed a great long weekend! Thank you for your hospitality, we will definitely be back!

Family Time

This was our second stay in this home away from home. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place at all. It’s a little piece of heaven in the woods on a lake. It’s was perfect for us … again. ❤️

3-Family Hunting Party. We had a great time. Perfect Accommodations for our stay. Garage was awesome to keep our belongings as well as amply parking space for our UTV's..! Wil pan to stay again if we get north for next years hunt.

Sweet spot for our family!

We loved this sweet spot off the beaten path. It's a bit of drive to get here but once you arrive it's a quiet, serene and beautiful place on the shore of Nine Mile Lake. We enjoyed hanging in the hammocks by the lake, kayaking, playing card games on the deck, going for walks and fires in the firepit. This place is clean and well equipped for 4 adults. We made most of our meals and grilled one evening so everything but the groceries is here and ready for your use. We also watched movies in the media/game room. It was a delightful stay. Thanks Kerry for being such a gracious host!

Great host and perfect house

The house was very spacious and had everything we needed for our week on 9 mile lake. We paddled and fished every day. Host family were all great and responsive if we needed anything.

A great break from the heat

Impeccable property - as if we were the first people to use it. Great condition, great (very VERY remote) location, peaceful, and on a beautiful, pristine lake. Kids had a great time exploring, kayaking, and generally being on a luxury wilderness adventure.

Long Weekend get-away.

Perfect place for my family of 4 kids. Ages are 12 to 18. This place checked all the boxes. We absolutely the place and all it had to offer. The kayaks were a huge hit. Fishing was perfect. The place had everything we needed. Very clean. Thank you to the hosts.

Ideal Lake Getaway

Wow. A beautiful house in a quiet and wonderful corner of the North Shore. Our 15-year-old nephew had the time of his life kayaking, fishing, and hiking. We all enjoyed the fire pit, game room, and naps in the loft. Kerry is a perfect and welcoming host!

Gorgeous Getaway

Kerry and Patti were wonderful hosts and Kerry went so far as to offer a pontoon ride. What a gorgeous lake and area to be in! The kayaks they provided were great. The house is beautiful and cozy. Comfortable beds, great spaces to relax in the living room, game room and loft (just be prepared to guard the steep ladder to the loft if you have toddlers as they’ll want to explore for sure!). Very nice fire pit area. What to know for next time was Wi-Fi was hit and miss, server didn’t seem to allow any redirects so just be prepared to enjoy being able to relax and truly unplug for the time you’re there and download any podcasts or shows you’d want beforehand. Would recommend this place to others.

Wonderful!!!

The house was absolutely beautiful!! And it’s hard to find a rental with comfortable beds and we all slept good during our entire stay. Very clean and loved using the game room. It was perfect for the kiddos. Kerry was very responsive when we had questions. Would stay here again!

9 Mile Lake/4 wheeling trip

2 retired couples enjoying the scenic beauty of the wonderful UTV trails in Superior Forest! The Cabin was a delight and a great Basecamp to experience trails in every direction. The cabin was immaculate and offered a peaceful and quiet environment after a long day of riding. KERRY took care of any concerns or questions we had on the spot. We look forward to a ride in the fall and this cabin will be our home away from home! Thanks Kerry for making our stay a success and creating some great memories in the process! Pat & Joyce

great experience

Stayed here during our ski visit to Lutsen. Property was clean, spacious and very warm. Kerry, the owner, went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We asked about a gas grill being available for grilling and next thing we know a brand new grill was dropped off because the other grill was snowed in. We would definitly stay here again.

Snowmobiling Trip

Stayed with a group of friends for a snowmobiling trip! Kerry personally ensured we knew how to get to the trail (given the current logging detour) and took us there the first time himself. The cabin was beautiful and we loved the fireplace after a long day of riding. Easy access to trails - we rode to Finland, Grand Marais, and Babbitt to name a few. The heated garage meant we could keep our gear there instead of in the cabin. Will absolutely be back for another stay and many thanks to Kerry for his hospitality and kindness!

Winter getaway

Our experience at this amazing cabin was nothing short of 5 star! If there were 6, it would be 6 stars for us! The accommodations are top notch in craftsmanship and luxury living, just up north. We had everything we needed and more. This cabin has comfort for everyone and places to socialize, rest or plan and prepare a meal. The kitchen was very well equipped with all the utensils u could ever need and the dishes match the decor like all the other well thought out decor. From the art on the wall to the comfortable throw rugs and warm fireplace there is nothing here that lacks in taste or style. The beds were extremely comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. We found out during our stay that the cabin was built a few years back (maybe 5) and were surprised to find that out as it is spotless and looks to be brand new! The owners are great people and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay! The travel north from Finland is beautiful and this getaway is well worth the drive! We will be back again, hopefully soon!! Thanks for a great memory UT1!!!

Holiday Get Away

Lovely property! Kerry was great and everything was perfect. The house is basically new and everything was super clean. Fully stocked kitchen. We enjoyed watching a movie sitting in the fabulous reclining chairs! Just a great overall experience. We hope to go back again sometime.

Fantastically Wonderful

Kerry is a wonderful host. Easy to understand and very responsive. Our family, sons and their sons, spent 5 days at this property and every day was better than the one before. The swans on the lake were incredible to see and hear. The home was new and lovely for our home base. Everything a person would need to enjoy a stay is provided. Highly recommend and will definitely be looking to this place for our annual trip again next year. Really wonderful memories for our family. Thank you 100 times over!!!

Wonderful

Overall we had a great 3 night stay in Oct 2022. The cabin was very clean. Kitchen was well appointed. Beds were comfortable. It was very cold and windy while we stayed, so unfortunately we didn't get to really use the deck, grill, or fire pit. I would definitely stay again.

Awesome October getaway!

Stayed with our family for 4 day weekend. The cabin was wonderful, with great shoreline/ lake views and unbelievable sunsets. Kitchen was stocked with any pots/pans/utensils we needed. Cleanliness of entire property was impeccable. Wonderful stay!

Peaceful location on the lake

Our stay was very nice - the cabin is very clean with lovely views of the lake. We visited the nearby state park and Lake Superior and the scenery was beautiful as the leaves were changing. Very comfortable cabin and no problems with our stay.
