Wake up each morning with coffee on the deck listening to the birds chirping. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood right off rt 176, not too far from Chicago but far enough to feel like you’re on a vacation.

Amazing Space!

This stylish, comfortable house was the perfect spot for a weekend away with friends. We loved the spacious layout and the opportunity to enjoy the view of the lake from the big back porch. Will definitely be staying here whenever we're in the area again!

Wonderful Getaway

We needed a place to stay for a few days and really enjoyed the home. Very clean, kitchen well stocked, access to the lake and other beaches are close by. But what we enjoyed the most was the peace and quiet. I highly recommend this home.

Great lake cottage in island lake

We had a wonderful stay in Island Lake. Enjoyed sitting outside every morning drinking our coffee/tea & listening to all the bird life. The Blue Herons were so fun to watch fly by all day long. The inside was very cute & comfortable for our family. We would love to have the pleasure of staying here again when we visit our family in IL.

It was calm, relaxing, peaceful.

It was a perfect get away place. My wife and I needed time away from the everyday city life and I’m soooooo happy we came here. the property is beautiful. The house was welcoming & cozy. Did not want to leave.

Everything was exactly as described. Cute, clean, updated little house right on island lake. The stairs are a little scary for young kids but we made it work. Host is very sweet, helpful, and responsive.

Gorgeous lake house

We absolutely loved staying at this house. All of the finishes are so inviting and made us feel at home. The view of the lake is tranquil and relaxing. It was in close proximity to our family in Woodstock. I can't say enough about this cozy house. We will definitely be back.

Very quiet and relaxing house on the lake

My family and I were not disappointed. We were looking for a quiet spot on a calm lake and we found just the thing. The inside of the house is very modern and well taken care of. The owner and neighbors were all very friendly and helpful. Plenty of good places to eat in the area. We highly recommend this property .

We had lots of fun in Island Lake. Sleepy area with great views! Nice and peaceful, but we spent most of our time around Chicagoland. Enough room for the whole family. Thanks again!

Really great lake house!

My fiancee and I had a very nice stay for a few nights at the property. The area was quiet with friendly neighbors, great views, and tons of wildlife. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and well stocked, just in case you forgot something at home. We both totally loved the house and are already talking about making a trip back! Carly was easy to communicate with and made the checkin process a breeze. Highly recommended!

Thanksgiving celebration at the lake

This house gave us an opportunity to provide a place for all of our adult kids to meet up for Thanksgiving. The house met all of our needs and had enough utensils for me to put together a Thanksgiving meal. I would have given 5 stars except it would have been nice to know that it was a cat home. We have a couple family members with allergies who suffered a bit.

Tranquil setting on Island Lake

We loved our stay in Island Lake as it was close to Family and friends. It is misrepresented though in online listing. The Second bedroom could not be used by anyone other than small children and they would have to navigate a spiral staircase and no bathroom upstairs. And the space is an attic with low ceilings dormered. Perfect for two people using only the downstairs. The owner is great and will attend to anything that is wrong.

A good time on the lake with girl friends!

My two friends and I spent a gorgeous early October weekend at Carly's house and loved it! Cute place, in a quiet residential neighborhood - the owner has curated an attractive, inviting, and COMFY home. We cooked and baked in the kitchen, finding everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious and clean, shower was strong! The house is right on Island Lake and view is beautiful! We launched her kayaks from her dock and explored the lake. We fished out the back and had cocktails and snacks by the fire pit. Exceeded our expectations - hope to go back!

Wrong code provided, couldn’t get in

I reserved this property months in advance for myself, my senior mother and my 6 year old. We received the access code the day before our arrival. When we arrived after a long day of travel at 9:30 pm, the access code did not work and the owner could not be reached by phone, VRBO message or the ring doorbell on the property. It was late and freezing and VRBO customer service was of absolutely no help. After an hour in the cold, trying desperately to reach the host and work with VRBO, we went to the nearest hotel, 20 minutes away, and secured rooms there instead. The host finally texted me the correct code while I was checking in to the hotel. By then it was too late and we ultimately did not stay at this home. The lack of attentiveness of the host and loss of this accommodation for us was a major inconvenience which significantly impacted our entire trip. In addition to a very long night upon our arrival, we had to stay much further from the event for which we were in town. Blizzard conditions over the weekend made this extremely dangerous. We did receive a refund.

This was truly one of the greatest regrets of my professional life, and I take full responsibility for the nightmare you and your family experienced as a result. This was out of character and unacceptable in a time when you needed help, and while I can’t take back the mistake, I can try to do better by future guests. I have prepared multiple door codes in the event of another malfunction with better and more communication options in times of emergencies. I wish you and your family all the best.

Great Christmas!

Our family of 4 stayed Christmas Eve and Day. Very clean, updated, and cozy. Great view of the lake. Carley even put up a Christmas tree! We had a great Christmas here and would love to return in the future.

Most beautiful location and lake view among other houses

Very cozy house with charming view on the lake and other houses. Great fishing though even from pear. The house might appear small among other houses but it’s really spacious inside. For 6 people just perfect. Definitely recommend this place.
