Great location, unfortunate experienve
My friend and I had booked this VRBO for her 30th birthday celebration. We had been in communication with the booking owner multiple times over the course of a few months but more specifically had been in contact with her within 24 hours of check-in. The host sent over the check-in time and then proceeded to send another message 30 min prior to check in that said wait your booking has been canceled. When I responded to ask why she cancelled the booking (because I certainly didn’t cancel while on the beach awaiting check in), she replied that she didn’t cancel it and that I would need to contact VRBO. Luckily on short notice we were able to secure a reservation elsewhere but were disappointed as we had stayed in a different unit on the same property in the past and very much enjoyed this property. Come to find out, I received an email a day or two later that stated that the host had canceled our booking due to being double booked from a different site. To me this seems like something that should have been identified prior to 30 minutes before check-in, especially when we were communicating about check in time over 24 hours prior to the 4 pm check in time. Overall, great property from a previous stay in a different unit. I would be cautious booking with this unit unless they can confirm that it has not been double booked prior to arriving in Ft Lauderdale. I would’ve much rather preferred honesty and an attempt to right the wrong instead of a lie that they didn’t cancel.
