Waterfront cottage with a pool located in Hertford, NC. Almost 2 acre lot is the perfect place for quiet and relaxation. Enjoy swimming in the pool, a dip in the Little River, or a relaxing kayaking or canoeing adventure. The Little River Cottage is perfect for families. The Outer Banks of NC is only a car ride away, or you can visit other Historic areas such as Edenton, NC approximately thirty minutes away. Located near the border of Elizabeth City, delicious sushi or Mexican cuisine is only a 15 minute drive away. 5 day minimum stay on any major Holidays.

Our second stay at this property and as before it was exactly what we were looking for. Very clean. Well stocked. Beautiful sunsets every morning from the comfort of the rear screened porch. We have a boat that we launch from the property’s private ramp for fishing and playing on the water. This year we crabbed off the pier with provided crab Potts and in 2 days we had crabs for six people. In the evenings we spent most days in the garage playing pool, darts and table top shuffle board. The large pool right outside the back porch was refreshing on hot days. The owners, Shannon and Chris, who live right up the street were very responsive to anything we needed and since we had met Chris before we welcomed him to come by and visit. Highly recommend a relaxing stay at their vacation house on the Little River. We will be back.

This property exceeded our expectations! The house its self was beautiful. Located down a quiet private road right on the water. Very clean and stocked with everything we needed. The host even provided us with a basket of goodies and treats for my dog! We saw dolphins our first day there and enjoyed relaxing in the pool. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hope to return again next year.

Perfect place for a family vacation. Lake, swimming pool, game room, huge fenced in yard and a city with a vast assortment of restaurants to choose from…it didn’t disappoint!

This is the cleanest, most well stocked and relaxing rental we have ever stayed at. Plenty to do from crabbing, fishing, padle boating, or just relaxing in the pool. End of street makes it very private with no traffic. Comfortable beds, screened porch, game room, grills for cooking. This was our second stay and still fasinated watching the osprey fishing and feeding in thier nest. We will definately rent again.

Wonderful and relaxing

We had a great time at Little River. The property is very well kept and clean and has plenty of room for our family of 5. The views from the deck and the pool are amazing. The kids loved spending the days at the pool and catching crabs on the river.We only stayed 4 nights but would love to come back for longer.

If you want a little piece of paradise this is the place to be. Five stars all around. The property is one of the prettiest settings I have seen in a while and the house is quite quaint. Little goodies were left by the host which made for a warm welcoming. I can't say enough about the host Shannon, she went above and beyond in helping me with a family crisis. I would go back there in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a place of relaxation, fishing or water activities, this is the place to be. Thanks Shannon.

Refreshing

We had a marvelous time. Early morning fishing and all day crabbing was a blast. When the mid-day sun became exceedingly warm, the pool became the oasis for everyone. Plenty for everyone to do and the best part was the view!.

Home on the water

The location was remote but once there beautiful. The amenities were excellent. Home super clean with nice extra touches like provided toothbrushes. We had an excellent time! Super dog friendly.

Gorgeous views

We had a wonderful time at this home on the sound. We brought out 2 dogs and the yard was huge they could run and really enjoy the outside. The property offered everything to make our stay perfect. Excellent communication with the owner and a very simple check in. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Relaxing and beautiful

Our family of 5 enjoyed staying at Shannon's home. The pool was great and the amenities (kayaks, canoes, pool table) were great. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the view. Our dogs loved having such a huge fenced in yard to run in as well. They absolutely loved barking at the geese as they flew by. Be on the look out for jumping fish. I didn't know fish jumped out of the water like that and it was a sight to see. Great vacation!

Great family vacation

The property was perfect for an extended weekend getaway with the family. We enjoyed the pool, the house, the game room in the garage and even saw some dolphins in the river. It was a great trip and I can't wait to try and book this location again in the future.

Unwind and relax

Perfect place to get away and relax with the family. The pool and lake were the perfect place to cool off. The large fenced in yard was great for the dogs to run around in. Watching the sunsets, sunrises and dolphins from the dock were just what we all needed.

Cute Getaway

Cute house fit our quick getaway. This was a new area for us to explore. Home had everything we needed and expected from description and other reviews. Some things like having shade at pool, larger kitchen, and the home so close to water with screened in porch was even better than expected. Kitty Hawk was about 1 hr 20 min drive. We also visited the great dismal swamp which was very beautiful. Didn’t catch fish from house but did get lots of crabs and saw several dolphins on last day. Would recommend home to anyone visiting this area..

The property was clean, completely functional, hospitably presented. Advance information was 100% correct. The house was user friendly. Several times during the stay different members of our party remarked that we would like to come back again.

Most relaxing vacation in years

Amazing vacation at this rental can’t say enough good things. Rental was spotless and provided everything - and I mean everything you could possibly want/need. The pool was amazing for cooling off and relaxing, the cove was great for fishing and bird watching( Great Blue Heron and Osprey), the dock was amazing for dolphin watching and sunrises. There was something for all family members to do separately and together. We spent 1 day to drive over to beach and the rest of the vacation we spent enjoying the rental. The game area came in very handy as we had rain/t storms on several nights. The welcome basket was unbelievably thoughtful and greatly appreciated - as everyone was tired after driving all day and the last thing we wanted to do was go to grocery store . Overall a fantastic vacation and can’t wait to come back next year.

Relaxing On The River

We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation. Caught a couple fish with the fishing gear provided. Caught a crab with one of the crab traps. Had a blast with the kayaks and canoe. We also got to watch the young eagles take their first flight! Even when it rained, the game room provided lots of fun. The property was very clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. Hosts were very easy to contact and it was a pleasure to interact with them.

This property is the only waterfront property in our area with a pool! We have a dock to enjoy the morning sunset, a private boat ramp on the property for you to use kayaks or canoes, a game room to enjoy with your family and a large yard for a meal on the grill or corn hole. On a good day you can even see the dolphins swim by!
