***Due to the lake restoration work after Hurricane Helene, we are not able to provide access to the boathouse including kayaks, floats, etc. The lake is not available for swimming or boating at this time. We hope that our beautiful lake will recover as soon as possible. Please follow the town website for updates https://www.townoflakelure.com *** The best of treehouse and lakefront living! Charming Cottage located on beautiful Lake Lure surrounded by trees in a relaxed and peaceful setting. The home is located conveniently near a local supermarket, restaurants, and Chimney Rock State Park. This cozy abode has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Knotty pine-wood walls and ceilings, hardwood floors, and 2 gas fireplaces grace this getaway.

Upon entering, you will find 2 bedrooms: one has a queen-sized bed, the other has a set of log style bunk beds. The bathroom has a tub and shower. The large kitchen has plenty of counter space and is filled with all the amenities, including a Keurig coffee maker. It is open to the living room which features a gas fireplace, and the dining room has a rustic style wood table that can seat up to 8 people. A flat screened television hangs above the mantel and can be viewed from the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Off of the kitchen is an outdoor deck with a gas grill and beautiful views. The lower-level bedroom suite sports a private bath, gas fireplace, TV and sofa.

Beyond the lower suite is a screened porch and a deck with a variety of seating. Walk down the stairs to our large firepit patio (supply your own firewood - buy locally at Ingles Supermarket and elsewhere).

Continue down the stairs to the dock.

**Anyone with mobility or endurance issues should be aware that there are 100 steps down to the dock.

Whether you are looking for romance, an escape from your everyday life, or a relaxing family getaway, our charming cottage is the answer.

There is ample parking and no steps to the front entrance.

Our cottage is subject to specific regulations and guidelines enforced by the Town of Lake Lure.

Beautiful spot

The lake house is an amazing, beautiful spot. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The downstairs bed was very comfortable! The boathouse came with a lot of toys to really maximize this lakefront stay. We stayed in this property the weekend before the hurricane hit. I’m not sure how the hurricane affected the property, but it would be an injustice not to leave a glowing review because we had an amazing stay here!

Great Lake life

Great house, amazing location. We had everything we needed and more! The kids and dogs spent the entire time in the lake…. Which was nestled on a quiet, safe cove. Lots of water toys provided in the boat house. Owners were super responsive and friendly. Definitely 5 stars

Perfect relaxation

This house is adorable and perfect for a family. The owners are super responsive if you need anything and willing to help. Lots of ways to enjoy the lake without leaving the boat house. We absolutely loved everything about our stay.

Fantastic get away!

We completely enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. We took full advantage of the kayak & paddle board that come with the rental. We enjoyed sunset paddles, just floating near the dock & even a moonlight paddle one night. Although you don’t get dramatic Mountain View’s right at the house, you do get tree top views that make you feel like you are in a treehouse & relaxing lake views as well. All you have to do is paddle around the bend & wow!!! The Mountain View’s take your breath away! We would absolutely stay here again & recommend to friends as well. Our only stumble was a little trouble getting the key pad on the door to work properly at first. We got in touch with the host & they unlocked it remotely. Once they did so, the keypad functioned properly the rest of our stay. The house was comfortable & clean. The downstairs master suite was our favorite! There are multiple decks to enjoy as well. We really enjoyed grilling out & having a fire in the fire pit at night. We roasted lots of marshmallows! The local grocery store is really close which is super convenient. Overall we loved this place & really enjoyed our vacation! I highly recommend!

Great Value in Lake Lure

This is a cozy, rustic, & vintage Lake Lure house. It’s a good, pet-friendly deal for the price & Sherry was very responsive to all of our questions. Be prepared for the steps to the dock (there are lots of them), but this is typical for Lake Lure. We appreciated the quietness of being close to the dam & off the main channel. The convenience to the local Ingle’s grocery store was a big plus for us, as well.

Great Lake Vacation

We enjoyed our stay. Lots of swimming in the lake. House is very spacious and everything you need is there. Host is very easily reachable and responsive.

Great house, everything we needed.

Responsive host, clean and well appointed house. There was unexpected (for us) construction in the cove which took away from the relaxing ambiance. We would recommend the property to anyone.

Chimney Rock Weekend

Inside the home was as listed, comfortable and cozy. Kitchen was well stocked. The decking and stairs outside could have been blown off. Many leaves and acorns i realize it’s fall season, but those areas did not look like they were blown off in a while. Also the patio furniture and outside cushions were dirty and stained, so we didn’t end up sitting outside. The view of the lake was beautiful and the downstairs suite was very nice.

Lovely lake home

This is a beautifully updated lake home. It has a well-equipped updated kitchen and a fabulous master suite, but has retained a cozy cabin feel. We had a fabulous time!

Immersive Lake Life

This property sits on a quiet cove that provides a serene Lake atmosphere. All the modern conveniences of a lake rental were provided and the bonus access to a 2-person kayak and stand up paddle board. The house is close to restaurants and other amenities that make for an ideal stay no matter the length of time. Would highly recommed.

In love with Lake Lure

Lake Lure is a special place. The house was inviting and comfortable. The lake and lake views were amazing. We spent our days on the dock and in the lake paddle boarding or kayaking. We grilled out at the house or found fantastic local eateries. Lake Lure Market grill and Highlands in particular were fantastic. Our son ran a 10k in the local Olympiad while there which was another memorable and amazing experience. And our visit to Chimney Rock State Park was also incredible. It was easy, relaxing living. Perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Family fun

We had a great time at this adorable cabin! It’s clean, with a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the fire pit and swimming, floating, and kayaking around the lake! The highlight was water skiing and tubing with Lake Lure Adventures! Great hiking and beautiful waterfalls and views at Chimney Rock State Park. We would definitely return!

Family and Friends reunion

Second year staying at this fantastically located house on the lake! We love the quietness of the cove, the fishing dock, paddle board, and canoe. We lived on the water. The owners were amazing to deal with and we plan to come again.

Celebration of Life

My wife has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, and this trip was out together as a celebration of this new season in our lives. It's obviously not something we chose, but we are determined to celebrate life each day by embracing the day we have and by experiencing the joy of the moment, and this VRBO get-a-way was just that for us and our adult children. The place was EVERYTHING it was advertised to be, and then some! Beautiful lake views (with direct lake access!) nestled in the treetops surrounded by the majesty of the mountains. The home was well-furnished and well-stocked, and we especially liked the nostalgic old lake house feel combined with all the modern conveniences! The property manager was absolutely awesome to work with and was quick to respond to our inquiry regarding pets. And she immediately corrected the boat house entry for us. 5 stars-plus! Overall, this rental is an ideal place for a family to rest and play and enjoy time together in a peaceful and beautiful location. It as truly a wonderful time of celebration of life for our family.

Relaxing weekend in a quiet location

My husband and I (and our dog) spent a week at this lovely lake home and we were able to relax and recharge! The home was clean and exactly as described. We ate most of our breakfasts and dinners at the house, which was well supplied with most any pot or pan you might need. We made use of the 2 person kayak and went paddling on the lake several times. There were plenty of life jackets available, including sizes for children if you don’t have your own. This part of the lake is very quiet and relaxing. The road the house is on is a dead end street and there’s very little traffic. We walked our dog up and down the street and she enjoyed meeting the other dogs in the neighborhood. We knew from the listing that there would be many steps down to the lake and that was true. It wasn’t an issue for us, but if you have difficulty walking up and down stairs, keep that in mind. Thank you for an enjoyable week!

Reset and serene

I had a fabulous time. The room I stayed in was so cozy an comfortable. My daughter’s want to come back when it is warmer. We enjoyed every minute of the house and the town of Lake Lure.

After Christmas Getaway

So wonderful!! We arrived December 27th around 4, with our older kids coming in from the Asheville airport later that night. We had no trouble finding the bright yellow lake house and settled in quickly. There’s an Ingles five minutes away where we did a quick shop, but most of what we lacked or forgot could be found in the cupboard. We had our two small dogs with us and while there’s not a neighborhood to walk them in, there are two parks close by where we took them. We went to Chimney Rock for a day and bummed around the surrounding towns on rainy days. We ate most of our dinners at the house, grilling out one night. Had hot chocolate around the fire pit and my son in law even took the kayak out for a spin. Beds were comfy, house was clean, communication with the owners was great, wifi strong, Apple TV worked well. We had some rainy days, but beautiful sunrises when it was clear. I spent the entire ride home trying to figure out how to replicate the downstairs shower in my own bathroom!! So thankful to have been able to make new memories in this sweet lake house! Thank you! ❤️

Beautiful property, privacy option needed.

So many thoughtful accommodations provided in this getaway. The capturing feature of lake view with windows from the upper floor was also a stress when night fall came and we realized that there are no blinds to lower or close, also the kitchen exterior door, all glass, left full view. Any use of 3/4 of the home's upper floor, livingroom,, kitchen area,, left us on display to neighbors on each side of us if any lighting is on. We found ourselves staying in the basement bedroom after dark to feel we had any privacy. This truly impacting our ability to relax. Am sitting at the table, we were at birds eye view of neighbor in his robe on porch smoking, certain he has same view of us in our PJs. Blinds that can be lowered could have made a world of difference. ( would recommend top half of window to downstairs shower be covered or have option too). I'm a nurse and not real modest so the level of privacy lacking is substantial for me to share this. Hope it will help future vacationers.

Heaven

Thanksgiving getaway to visit with nearby family. Was exactly what we were looking for and more. Peaceful, beautiful sunrises, and extremely comfortable. Coffee on lower deck and wine on upper deck in evenings. Could not imagine a rental being more stocked. Thanks!!!
