Esta bellamente restaurado Histórico Log Sede Ranch se encuentra en 7 acres y está situado a 9 millas al sur de Angel Fire junto a la carretera a Ocate, NM en el impresionante y pastoral Lago Negro. Disfrutamos de vistas sin obstáculos a través de varios estanques, pantanos y extensas (miles de acres) tierras del rancho que rodean la casa. Ideal para ver en el verano de aves y durante las estaciones migratorias. Rebaños Elk se pueden ver casi a diario en los campos próximos a la casa y en el patio delantero, así como águilas calvas, águilas pescadoras y muchas aves acuáticas visitar nuestros estanques privados. Está a 14 min. unidad de la carretera a la playa de estacionamiento superior en el fuego Ski Area Ángel. Aislado y tranquilo, aunque está justo al lado de una carretera estatal en buen estado. Esta es el área que ayuda a dar 'Tierra del Encanto' su nombre. Las vistas de los valles son impresionantes. El área del Lago Negro es donde se filmaron las escenas de alto de los países de la película "Lonesome Dove". Es realmente un placer de experimentar esta propiedad histórica y especial. Todo esto respaldo contra las tierras públicas masivas.

Esta dos dormitorios un baño 1400 sq. Ft. Rojo casa de madera de pieles capacidad para 5 personas con una cama doble y una cama de matrimonio. También hay una reina sofá-cama. La gran cocina y sala de estar combinada ofrece un entorno maravilloso para ver la naturaleza y compartir tiempo con la familia y amigos. Solo se han instalado una nueva gama y lavavajillas. Con una estufa de leña y varios ventanales que es brillante y alegre en el día y cálido y acogedor en la noche. La casa también dispone de calefacción central de alta eficiencia.

House was nice for the 2 of us. Shower was tiny but that was noted in another comment from a previous renter, so was aware before booking. The wifi only worked in the main living room area and not in the main bedroom. Anytime I needed to message Edward, he answered right away. Saw elk and a deer one day out of our stay. The house was further out than I had anticipated since VRBO won't give you anything other than center of town before booking and before host actually gives address. With one vehicle and one of us needing to be in Eagle Nest at 5am, it left the other at the house which is not close to town at all. All in all it was a pleasant stay.

This was a wonderful place to stay, comfortable bed, quiet. It is right off the highway though so not exactly secluded ranch getaway if you’re looking for a cabin in the middle of nowhere. To help with next guests comfort, we could have used fire starter, a lighter, and decaf coffee and hot tea options would add to comfort. Thank you again for the comfortable stay.

Stunning defines this home and surrounds. The thick timber walls, wood floors and abundant windows with gorgeous views surround you with quiet and beauty. It is history with today’s luxuries and everything we needed from comfy beds to a well-equipped kitchen and the convenience of the washer/dryer and internet. Our host was responsive to our questions and very gracious. We will definitely return!

Peaceful Cabin getaway

Such a cool getaway! The elk heard was one of the coolest parts. Sitting on the patio and watching the stars. We heard the Elk sounds and seeing them in the distance was memorable. My family enjoyed it. Short drive to Angel Fire for Groceries etc. Cabin has a good feel inside. Thanks for sharing this!

Wonderful cabin. Quiet and clean with a very rustic but creature comforts feel. Lots of space for outdoor activities. Lots of wildlife to watch. Absolutely beautiful place.

Cool place - nice setting

Cool place with interesting and appropriate furnishings. We didn't get to stay the whole time because we were hit with an unusual May snow storm and lost power, and water. Hard to communicate with Edward because of weak cell phone coverage without the internet. But he came through and refunded us for our lost night. We really enjoyed our time there and in the surrounding area.

Perfectly quaint family getaway!!

We had a lovely stay at the Black Lake Ranch! Astounding views of all ranges of wild life. We were a little sad there was no hot tub but a little morning snow made up for it. Absolutely beautiful home & great communication between the owner. So thankful we got to stay here for my Dad’s 62nd birthday!!

Ranch Headquarters

This property is beautiful! Perfect size for our family of 6. Upon arriving we did not have service to access the welcome email. Was able to reach out to owner and given an immediate reply. We saw elk cross the passing each morning and the deer in the front lawn in the evening. Everything you need for your stay is supplied. A short drive to Angel Fire ski resort. Our family will definitely return!

Cozy Cabin

The property was lovely! The property manager was helpful and very responsive. The place was clean and spacious. It had everything you could need for cooking. I will say the oven took a while to heat so wasn’t able to use that like I thought, but the other appliances did the trick. Overall, really enjoyed the stay!

Escape the heat!

This home is so comfortable and cozy! We enjoyed the cabin for three and one half weeks in July trying to escape the TX heat and it was wonderfully relaxing! Even with NM experiencing one of its warmest summers in quite awhile, we were comfortable without air conditioning. The evenings cooled off nicely and the mornings were crisp! The cabin is eight or so miles below Angel Fire in Black Lake, NM on Rte 120 and very private and easy to find. The cabin is at approximately 8800 ft altitude so take it easy the first day or so! Wi-Fi and TV worked great! Angel Fire has a grocery store that covers all the basics but you will pay for the convenience. If you can bring food, especially meats, fish, it will be more economical. Angel Fire has a farmer market on Sundays during summer and had great veggies etc. if you are planning an extended stay and need more detailed shopping, Taos has an Albertsons and Smiths (grocery stores) as well as Walmart and the drive over is beautiful in spite of road construction going on right now. The home has fantastic views of open meadows and mountains. You will see mule deer, elk, beaver, and so many birds. We had one nosy bear check out our car as well. Thanks for such a relaxing visit!

Getaway

Loved this property, had everything in the kitchen that you would need. Very comfortable bed!!! Very quite!! Very clean!!! WiFi worked great!!! My only complaint would be that the main bedroom needed room darkening shades, they had blinds on 2 windows, but third window just had curtains and the door curtain let a lot of light in. When I’m on vacation, I don’t like getting woke up early, but this is just my preference. I had extra foil in my supplies and I took care of the windows, thank goodness I had brought some, as I wouldn’t want to use there’s. But I would definitely book this place again!

Hello, my name is Edward May and I purchased my home in 1991. The house was originally built around 1927. The original ranch that this home was part of was about 67,000 acres. At one time this area was very successful as a potato farming location. I currently live in Hawaii where I design and install tropical landscapes. I do come home to Black Lake a few times a year and anxiously await every visit. I am always happy to return and the beauty of the surrounding mountains surprises me and brings much pleasure still after all these years.

This property was located in an amazing location. Considering that it was where the large ranch built, we knew there must have been a reason that they built this home where they did. Often, when it is cold and windy, sitting on the deck is still possible because we are so well protected on the west side by a large hill that breaks the wind so it is very calm here when the wind is blowing hard compared to other places just near by. Located next to and on Little Coyote Creek and we also have ponds just in front of the house. We get to enjoy water views as well. Just all around a wonderful location and a fine home built from the massive trees from the ranch. A sawmill was brought to the location to build the home from the old Douglas Fir trees growing on the ranch.

Our guests keep telling us that it was a unique experience to stay at our home and thanking me for sharing it with others. It is my pleasure to share this "Jewel" with my guests. It's unique historic quality coupled with an artistic remodel and restoration, makes staying here a truly one-of-a-kind experience. There is simply nothing like it in the valley and there are very few older homes in the area. The timber logs (squared off on three sides) cut from old-growth fir trees has developed a patina over the last 90 years that can not be found anywhere. This is the real deal, an authentic mountain home. All this, coupled with the remodel of the home including the electric, plumbing and heating system, has created a sense of age with modern beauty and style. Our guests, and I myself, can sit for hours gazing out of the windows at the incredible mountain views and viewing the wildlife. Our ponds give a beautiful foreground to the vast mountain vistas. It is just a pleasure to spend time in this special mountain location.
