Bear Necessities is a newly updated cabin nestled directly between the "peaceful side of the Smokies" (Townsend) and all the fun-filled attractions of Pigeon Forge. Feel free to kick back and relax during your stay at our cabin. Start your morning off with a cup of coffee on the back porch as you watch the sunrise over the mountains. Enjoy a game night with your family in our loft/game room complete with fun board games and even a Pac Man arcade game with 12 different games!

Incredible view from this cabin! We loved all of the amenities and location. We were able to do Dollywood twice, the Stampede, and a few fishing holes! We had a great stay!

Beautiful scenic view, peaceful, and relaxing. Hot tub was very relaxing after some long days of hiking and exploring. Everything was wonderful.

Cabin was very clean and very private for hot tub as foliage blocked any neighbors. Sunrise provides great vista from back deck and hot tub. Check in and communication with owner is very easy.

Perfect location

We loved our stay here. The location was exactly what we were looking for away from all of the hustle and bustle but only a short drive away to Gatlinburg. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub and had all of the amenities that we needed. Dollar General is only a short drive away if you forget anything. We can’t wait to stay here again.

Perfect getaway

It was great!!! Everything was clean and modern! My wife absolutely loved it and now wants to redo our house, so there’s that. Lol. Highly recommend this place!!! It was perfect!

Perfect Getaway with Friends

This cabin is the perfect spot for a girls’ trip or a getaway for the family. We really enjoyed the location, as it’s not right in the middle of the hustle & bustle, but close enough if you want a little more action. If you don’t want to go into Pigeon Forge there are several restaurants & coffee shops nearby (we recommend Elvira’s) as well as Whaley’s market to pick up essentials. We enjoyed the hot tub at the cabin as well as the many board games provided by the host. I don’t drink coffee, but my friends really enjoyed the coffee bar set up. Can’t wait to stay at the Bear Neccesities again.

Perfection!

You will find everything that the listing says and so much more. The renovations to this cabin are brand new. The craftsmanship and decor are 5 star. The property owners paid attention to every detail. The kitchen and bathrooms are equipped with all the essentials. There is a game room upstairs that was the perfect hideaway for our kids. There are ample linens, all high quality. The mattresses were top quality foam and the pillows were perfect. The views on the deck are exactly what we love while staying in the Smokies! Sam was extremely responsive and lovely to work with. This updated cabin will exceed your expectations!

Perfect place for a family getaway

We stayed here with our 3 kids and it was a great set up for us. The kids loved the spiral staircase and sleeping up in the loft! Because our kids are younger we knew we wouldn't be able to be out all day/every day. We spent a good portion of our trip just relaxing and enjoying the hot tub and mountain view from the back porch. Samantha and Don made the whole experience very easy. The place is really wonderfully decorated and we could tell they put a lot of thought into the little details.

We have been married for 13 years and have 2 little boys and 2 wild dogs! We love managing our rental cabin together and we enjoy the cabin ourselves some too! One unique thing about us is that we live local so we frequently visit the cabin for routine maintenance between guests and can usually address any needs that may arise during your stay!

Bear Necessities cabin is the perfect place for a couple's trip or a family getaway! With majestic, Smoky Mountain views, a relaxing hot tub and a fun game area there is something for everyone! Our cabin can comfortably accommodate 6 guests with 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a queen sleeper sofa. All beds (even the sleeper sofa) come equipped with comfy memory foam mattresses to ensure you get the best rest possible during your mountain getaway.
All the necessary comforts of home are provided in our cabin including in unit washer and dryer, heating and air conditioning, free wireless internet and even smart TVs in all rooms (bring your own log-ins).
Enjoy preparing a delicious "home" cooked meal in our fully stocked kitchen, equipped w/ all utensils, cutlery, pots and pans and bakeware you could need! Or, if grilling is more your thing feel free to use our on-site propane grill. We refill the tanks monthly, but if you find the tank empty just let us know! We provide a few bottles of our favorite grilling seasonings in the cabinet for you to try out during your stay!
Also in the kitchen, we have an amazing coffee bar equipped with plenty of fresh, locally roasted coffee beans with a grinder, a French Press, a frother and a Keurig K-Duo coffee maker. We also provide a variety of K-cups and some ground coffee!
Bear Necessities cabin has 2 bedrooms, both with full bathrooms attached. The master bedroom is on the main floor and has a king-sized bed. The upstairs bedroom has a queen-sized bed.
Up the spiral staircase you will be able to enjoy a family game room complete with
classic board games, puzzles and a classic arcade-style Pac-Man game with 12 games! We encourage you to unplug and enjoy an old-school family game night during your stay!
Out on the back deck you can enjoy watching the sunrise over the mountains directly behind the cabin! And at night enjoy taking in the mountain view from the private hot tub (towels provided)!
