Sam's Place: Brand-new Massanutten custom home with game room!

Welcome to Sam's Place: a brand-new, custom built home, located in Massanutten Resort! The home sits on a quiet street, minutes from all of the activities, and includes all of the features that make it feel like home. The home is a ranch floor plan with a master bedroom with king bed & en suite bathroom; 2nd bedroom with a queen bed; and 3rd bedroom with two, twin-sized beds with trundles. Traveling with family or friends? Check out Duke's place which is a 3-bedroom home next door!

The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare and serve home-cooked meals. For our coffee lovers, we provide a Keurig and a French Press for coffee. All linens, towels, and washcloths are included with your stay. We also provide dishwasher tabs, laundry pods, toilet paper and paper towels.

Game room in the basement features a ping pong table, putting green, arcade basketball, foosball, and jumbo jenga.

A laundry room with washer and dryer are available for guest use.

Home is dog friendly, and named after our Golden Retriever, Samson! We provide dog bowls, treats, and a spot to hang a leash.

MASSANUTTEN RESORT

The home is located inside the gated community of Massanutten Resort. The Resort offers skiing, two golf courses, water park, mountain biking, ziplining, putt-putt, go-carts, fishing, parks and more- only a couple miles from the house.

For the outdoor pool, the house has a pool pass which allows guests to pay $6/person for the pool. Please note there is a $200 lost pass fee that the resort charges, so we ask that guests keep a close eye on the pass & make sure it is returned to binder, to avoid being charged the $200 fee.

SURROUNDING AREA

Downtown Harrisonburg and James Madison University are 15 miles from our home. There are many fantastic restaurant, museums and shops that are fun to explore in downtown. The closest Shenandoah River access is only 10 miles from the house. Tubing and kayaking are fun to enjoy during the summer. The Swift Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park and Blue Ridge Trail is only 15 miles away and offers excellent hiking trails. Wineries and breweries are a short drive from the home.

Sam’s place didn’t disappoint! From the spacious layout, the immaculate condition of the home, to the amazing game room…. this home was top tier! The host anticipates every guest need, and thoughtfully stocks the entire cabin to make packing a breeze! Julian is so friendly and responsive! You really can’t ask for more! We have been guests at it’s adjacent property, Duke’s place as well…. anything from this host is absolute perfection. We look forward to visiting again this Winter!

Sam's Place did not disappoint! The house was immaculate and cozy. We had an awesome time enjoying the fall foliage from the spacious deck and the basement game room proved to hours of fun.

Great place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Sam's Place. The house was beautiful and clean. Enjoyed all the games in the basement. Liked that the driveway was flat unlike a lot of houses in Massanutten with steep driveways. I would recommend Sam's Place to anyone visiting Massanutten.

This house was awesome for my annual getaway with my daughters and grandkids! Close enough to waterpark and other activities. The added bonus was the game room in the lower level! I would highly recommend this beautiful home!

Fabulous stay!

We had an amazing stay at Sam’s place. Everything was as described in the listing, clean, and comfortable. Loved the convenience to the slopes and the kids had a blast in the game room. And the house is dog friendly! Would definitely recommend.

Great place to stay!

My family and I stayed at this property to go skiing at Massanutten. The house is conveniently located about 2 miles from the slopes so we were able to go back and forth easily for lunch. The house is new and very well decorated, and of course clean. It had a well equipped kitchen for us to cook all of our meals. We had plenty of activities to enjoy after skiing with the game room in the basement and board games provided. My son enjoyed time playing the video games in the bedroom as well. Our entire experience was positive and we will consider booking another trip in the future.

Property was beautiful. Obviously new. Very nice deck looking over the woods. Basement area was great gor the kids. Looks like eventually there may be a third bathroom there. Kids loved their own space! Able to load and unload car easily without climbing stairs.

Beautiful Modern Vacation Property

Julian was an excellent host! The property was ultra-clean, modern, and spacious. Loved the large comfy sofa and cozy fireplace, which provided a great ambiance! Also loved the open floor plan and high ceilings. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The parking was convenient and the location offered different activities. We also enjoyed the activities in the downstairs game room. The property is dog-friendly and our 3-year-old pup enjoyed the spacious deck.This property is an enjoyable vacation spot and we would easily consider booking with Julian again if we return to the area.

Sam's Place Fit Us to a T!

The main living room/dining/kitchen was up-to-date with a giant couch that fit our family and lots of amenities for our dog Anya--dog bowls, place for leash by door, even poop bags! My husband and I and our almost thirty year old daughter were very comfortable. In the evenings we hosted two of our sons and their families with 4 children (1-8yrs old) who were staying in separate condos. and Everyone loved the game room downstairs and the games in the kid's room. The back porch is like being in a tree house. The home had everything to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely stay there again.

Disaster!! Do not reserve this place!

The owner was completely irresponsible and unaccountable related to the booking of this property. He books using multiple sites and doesn’t check if the property is double booked which is entirely his responsibility. We booked this property over 1 year ago for our daughter’s university graduation. When we arrived to the property after a very long journey we were shocked to find other occupants already inside. The owner was a complete deer in the headlights and offered no support other than to say it was VRBOs fault. He didn’t even have the compassion or courtesy to follow up with us to see if our family was ok at any point in time after he was literally speechless about HIS error!! Don’t risk a huge letdown with this owner and this property! He does not own up to his mistakes and has zero empathy to his customers!

Beautiful home on excellent resort

We loved the space & the beautifully decorated house. The arcade in the kids room was a great bonus as well as the games in the basement. The blankets and bedding were very warm and high quality. The kitchen was high end and well stocked. We had a wonderful stay during fall break with our children.

Our homes are named after our Yellow Lab, the Duke dog (2007-2020), and our 2 year old English Cream Retriever, Samson. In our spare time we like to spend time at our kids baseball & softball games, walking Sam, and camping in our Travel Trailer!
