Adorable newly built 1-bedroom guesthouse with Sauna

Enjoy our newly built guesthouse centrally located between Uptown and South Minneapolis 1.5 miles from Bde Maka Ska (previously Lake Calhoun). Perfect for singles or couples, the 128 Guesthouse was thoughtfully designed to include everything you need for a short or longterm stay. Recently added an outdoor cedar sauna!

While staying at the 128 Guesthouse you will have secure private access to the entire studio apartment and gated patio. You will not have access to the garage or main house.

Although we have free on street parking on 35th St and Pillsbury Ave, you'll soon find that biking and walking are very popular in this part of town--the lakes inspire lots of exercise as soon as the sun comes up! Eating and Shopping are all a short walk away from our centrally located spot--you may not need a car at all!

We implement standard check-in and checkout times, and avoid early arrivals or late departures to minimize the possibility of disrupting the enhanced cleaning process between guest stays.

We are located two blocks from a some great local restaurants — Hola Arepa, Pat’s Tap, and Ramen Kazama to name a few. We are also about one mile from Bde Maka Ska (previously Lake Calhoun).

Perfect location

We absolutely loved our stay. The location was perfect with plenty of street parking. Apartment is the perfect size for a couples weekend getaway. We would stay here again.

Wonderful!

We had a great time and the apartment was wonderful. Clean, comfortable and since we were there and the highs during the day were mid-upper 90’s, also very cool. Nice location for walking to walk, or walking to get coffee, or lunch or whatever you might find. Easy parking, and good communication from the hosts.

Nice place, great sauna

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the guesthouse. There are some nice, artistic touches and the sauna was divine on this icy weekend! We will be back.

Loved it

This is such a cute place that was perfect for my husband and I! I wish more properties would realize that little touches are easy to do and make all the difference: a fan, a couple bottles of water, good pillows, nice comforter, fluffy towels. Everything was clean and the king bed was very comfortable! There are lots of great places to eat within walking distance.

LOVELY

This beautiful little studio was just perfect for my visit to Minneapolis and my convention. Easy access to downtown, superb dining within easy walking distance, no discomfort walking alone through and around the neighborhood. I loved it and would recommend this facility to any 1 or two person renters.

Great hosts

Hosts were great. When the weather turned unusually warm, they offered to install a window A/C unit, but by the time I saw their message in VRBO, it was too late to have them install the A/C. That's my way of lauding them for keeping in touch and so I would only recommend that future guests check their VRBO messages early in the day and often during the stay. My only wish would be for a separate washer/dryer. The combo washer/dryer does not fully dry clothes and it's very loud when the "dry" cycle kicks in. Otherwise, lovely little place in an excellent location.

Private area over a detached garage. Comfortable bed. Washer/dryer in unit. Kitchen has everything you'll need (appliances and dishes/cookware). Busy street with street (only) parking, but feels reasonably safe. Close to downtown and lakes.

A stay in the heart of Minneapolis

First, the location was so perfect for us, with its peaceful neighborhood, wonderful environment for walking, and easy access to other parts of the city such as downtown. We spent hours walking around the nearby lakes and along the streets lined with lovely old homes. Next, the accommodations were charming, cozy, and well-equipped. I found myself looking forward to returning after a day out and about! And we had absolutely no communication or logistics issues with reservation, checkin, or checkout. I hope we left the apartment in as good condition as we found it, for the next lucky visitor.
