Welcome to The Blue Canoe! This upscale Lake Blue Ridge cottage is a lake or mountain connoisseur’s dream! Whether you want to soak up the lakefront view from every room, sunbathe on the second level of the dock or enjoy a glass of wine by the fire-pit, this unique property has something for the whole family.

Surrounded by United States Forestry Service, our cottage is perfectly situated off Aska Road, near hiking and biking trails and within a short drive to the shopping and restaurants of downtown Blue Ridge.

Regardless of the adventure you’re seeking, you’ll have a great appreciation for The Blue Canoe – located only feet from Lake Blue Ridge with 331 feet of shoreline, properties like this can no longer be replicated.

The property was tastefully updated mid-2022 to include a professional interior designer’s touch (rivals Highland’s and Cashier’s luxury), new appliances, three TVs and a fabulous blend of updated, yet comfortable furnishings. If you need to work lakeside, a tasteful office space is situated on the bottom level with wireless/ethernet connections and quality internet.

As an added feature, we also have a pontoon available for rent, giving you the opportunity to explore the lake...and the best part, the boat will be at the dock upon your arrival! Already have a boat? Feel free to bring your own as well!

We stayed at this cabin in mid-December, right before Christmas, and it was absolutely beautiful. It was very well equipped, with a fully stocked kitchen, and it was even decorated with a Christmas tree, which made it feel extra special. The weather outside was cold, but the cabin stayed nice and warm and was incredibly cozy.While we didn’t take advantage of the boat, we did enjoy using the kayaks, and my son was able to catch a few nice-sized bass right from the dock. We also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit every night. There are plenty of nearby hiking trails to enjoy. The host was very kind and responded within minutes whenever we had a question.There was plenty of room for our group of five, and we truly appreciated being able to bring our dog along. The cabin has a cozy, rustic chic feel that’s perfect for a mountain lake getaway. I will say, coming from Southwest Florida, I underestimated the elevation. If you’re afraid of heights, it may take a bit to get used to, and as others have mentioned, the road in is narrow.Overall, I would definitely recommend this cabin. Thank you to The Blue Canoe for a wonderful getaway where many great memories were made.

The Blue Canoe is a little piece of heaven in the woods and on the lake. While the road getting there is a little intimidating, it offers beautiful views and is totally worth it when you get there! It is cozy, warm, inviting, peaceful and offers a plethora of activities. The owner is most responsive and a pleasure to deal with as is the check in process. We are grateful to have spent 3 days there and wish it could have been longer!

My wife and I stayed here with our two kids (ages 5 and 10), and we absolutely loved it. The cabin is quaint, remote, and perfectly peaceful — a great place to unplug as a family. The pontoon boat was perfect for evening rides on the calm lake, and the kids had a blast exploring the shoreline and fishing off the dock. Inside, everything felt warm and cozy, with comfortable beds and a well-stocked kitchen. We ended each night around the fire pit under the stars, which was a highlight for everyone. The winding one-lane road getting in is quite an experience, but it adds to the charm and seclusion. A wonderful place to relax, recharge, and make family memories. We will be back!

My family had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. The cabin is very cozy and the location is peaceful, but getting there is a bit tricky on a single lane gravel road. Take extra caution when driving a full size truck/SUV, especially around the retaining walls. I do feel it is important to mention two areas of concern. The dining chairs are heavily stained and need to be either professionally cleaned or replaced entirely. More importantly, the internal stairs are quite frightening to use, especially for older guests and families with children. We found that the exterior stairs are the best way to get to the lower level.I’d recommend staying at the Blue Canoe. The view is worth it alone.

A peaceful and serene getaway! This home has the most gorgeous views! We enjoyed taking the kayaks out as well. Love Lake Blue ridge and the Blue ridge area in general. Lots of beautiful hiking just short drives from the cabin location. We only used the main level of the home, as it was just us and our pups- which was a perfect space for us. And also yes the drive up to the cabin is a bit nerve racking especially if you encounter a vehicle going in the opposite direction - but worth it. Highly recommend The Blue Canoe!

Amazing getaway to Lake Blue Ridge

Well appointed traditional cabin on Lake Blue Ridge. Wonderful dock offers direct access to the lake and all its wonderful amenities. Also reserved access to the Pontoon which was great for the family to spend days cruising up and down the lake at our leisure. Cabin was perfect to allow my wife and I to connect with our teenage son and daughter. Able to really disconnect from the world and focus on family time. Easy trip to downtown Blue Ridge and other attractions like the Aska Trail and Swinging Bridge. Owner was super responsive, gave me excellent recommendations on restaurants, places to do as well as how to maximize enjoyment at the property.Highly recommend.

Amazing

Amazing view had use the outside steps to get to second floor the steps inside are very steep. Bunk beds were short for a grown man. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Quiet Oasis

The Blue Canoe is the perfect retreat. My husband and I and three teenage boys soaked in the quiet, beautiful scenery all while staying active on the kayaks, fishing from the dock and building fires in the fire pit. The owners were super responsive, accommodating and friendly.

Perfect Spring Break getaway

Loved this lake cabin. Owners did a great job with the upscale cozy cabin decor. Cabin had everything we needed for a short stay. Kids loved fishing & the kayaks. I loved relaxing on the upper dock reading and watching Bald Eagles.

Beautiful home on the lake

Absolutely fantastic cabin on Blue Ridge Lake. Great views from everywhere in the cabin. The house is well stocked with everything you need. We had a blast in the house and the dock which has 2 kayaks for your use. Great check in process, fantastic host, easy check in process and, inportantly, a reasonable check out list.Cant recommend this place enough.

Peaceful and perfect!

Great location for us! We caught fish each day (bass, catfish and some sunnies) all while enjoying the peace and quiet of the area. The cabin was nice, had all amenities as listed and worked great for our needs. The long windy road was an experience but we got the hang of it, an suv or awd type vehicle is a good idea. We really appreciated the local hiking spots and waterfalls where could enjoy the beautiful outdoors with our dogs! The owner provided all the needed details and we had no issues so didnt need to bother them. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the near future! Highly recommend!

Great getaway on a beautiful property

We stayed here as a family of five with three kids under seven and had a blast. The house has plenty of living space and separate quarters for parents and adults. They did not cheap out on bedding either, both queen beds were incredibly comfortable. The house location on the lake is perfect, not too much boat traffic and deep water right off the dock for endless entertainment for the kids. Owners were a 10/10 with responsiveness and communication, we plan to come back next summer!

Beautiful get away

We spent Thanksgiving weekend with our family including our 91 year old mother at this charming lake house. There were a couple glitches due to circumstances outside of the owners control and they bent over backwards to make accommodations. Overall a lovely experience!

We had been looking for an investment property on Lake Blue Ridge for quite some time when we found this property. After looking at a few others, we knew this was the one. The Blue Canoe is surrounded by USFS land and perfectly placed close to the water in a deep section of Lake Blue Ridge. During the summer, the water under the dock is approximately 56 feet in depth. Come join us!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

When looking for property on Lake Blue Ridge Property, we were looking for classic Blue Ridge charm, an incredible lot and a place to truly get away from it all. Many of the properties we perused were new and beautiful, but they were packed in Lake Blue Ridge coves and lacked the charm of a rustic cabin. This cabin is nestled between over 3000 ft of forestry service land in a wonderful subdivision called "Fish Hook Point". The current structure has been on the lake since the 1970s (within feet of the shoreline!) and has been tastefully updated. When we first purchased the property, it was a bit of a conundrum - the men in the family loved the classic, rustic feel of the cabin, and the ladies wanted to freshen up the space to have more of an updated and upscale, yet comfortable, look and feel. We brought in an interior decorator to fit the needs of all family members, and they did an incredible job of keeping the historic feel of the cabin while also updating appliances, furnishings, draperies and the like. We're proud of our little slice of heaven and look forward to sharing it with you and your friends and family.
