The Space:

Located behind the original house built in 1851, our property offers a quiet retreat away from the main street. The most you'll hear is the occasional car in the alley or neighborhood kids playing soccer.



Upon entering, the main level unfolds with the family and media room to your right, equipped with two full-size daybeds, a couch, additional seating, and a projector. This area is adorned with over 20 movie posters linked to Washington DC. Ascend to the upper level to discover the main gathering space, featuring an eight-person dining table, a full kitchen, board games, an additional TV, a full bedroom with a queen-size bed themed after the metro's red and silver lines, and a bathroom equipped with a shower, two sinks, and a toilet. The red-walled bedroom and bathroom capture the essence of the metro system's vibrancy.



The lower level, houses the workout and office area, alongside another full bathroom with two sinks and a shower. Here, you'll find two bedrooms: one inspired by the green and yellow metro lines with a queen-size bed and natural decor, and the other reflecting the orange and blue lines with a full-size bed. An emergency exit window creates a narrow gap of less than 4 inches between these rooms.

The Metro Movie House offers complete self-contained living with self-check-in, ensuring total privacy for your group. Enjoy a quiet stay without the disturbance of neighbors above or below you. Access is straightforward, thanks to our simple check-in procedure. Please note, we enforce an eight-person limit and have security cameras at the front and back entrances for everyone's safety. We kindly ask that you respect these rules and not attempt to bring in pets or additional guests without prior arrangement.

Getting Around:

Flights:



DCA: Also known as Reagan International Airport is the most convenient airport. You can either take the metro or a 15-45 minute Uber ride, depending on traffic.



Dulles (IAD): Dulles International Airport is approximately an hour drive from the house by car.



BWI: BWI is approximately a 45-minute drive from the house





Trains:



If you were taking the Amtrak into Union Station then you have a couple of options to get to the house.



Walking: 1.2 miles which according to map programs will take you 30min. If you don’t have a ton of luggage and the Weather is nice it is an incredible walk by the capitol building and other historic buildings



Uber: 7-10min based on traffic



Metro: The metro stop at Eastern market is a three-minute walk away.

Unfortunately, there is not a metro stop at union station on the same line so taking the metro is not the most convenient. You will have to transfer from the Orange/Silver/Blue line to the red line at gallery place.



Bus: There are buses available



Scootering: There are scooters available through rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft.

Nestled in a quaint residential neighborhood, we may be able to offer garage parking for one vehicle at a rate of $20 per day, depending on availability or Union Station provides a convenient, with garage parking available at approximately $25 per night. Nearby parking garages are also available, generally ranging from $25 to $50 per night.
