Perfect place for sweethearts

Our secluded and cozy cabin, Carra’s Cabin, is one of three of our Sandy Cut Cabins options. It’s furnished with one bedroom, full sized bathroom and updated kitchen accommodations. The deck features a private Hot Tub, a grill and outdoor dining area for the perfect ending to a perfect day of exploring.

Carra’s Cabin is best suited for 2 adults, not suitable for children of any age. The driveway is steep at the bottom but levels off. Follow the driveway to the end for Carra’s Cabin. We have 2 other cabins on the property but each is secluded and private. The lockbox is located on the cabin near the hot tub and the key fits the french door.

The hot tub isn’t a pool, no additives please, low water damages the unit. Emergency shut off only. Keep covered if not using. Don’t touch WARM button

Fires allowed in fire pit only, check for burning bans. All pets must be leashed outside/no Pits. Excessive pet cleaning results in $50 additional fee

Cabin was cleanly and quiet and remote.The hot tub was a nice touch to a long weekend.Access was granted without any concerns and overall the stay was pleasant.

The cabin was so cute and relaxing. The driveway was steep and the road to the cabin was rough, but other than that it was excellent!

The place is perfectly secluded yet close to town. It is very small but perfect for what me and the wife wanted. Really the only down side is that driveway is STEEP.

Total seclusion, perfect location

First of all, Our host, Penny, gave accurate directions. She responds within minutes, if you reach out. When we arrived, the first thing we saw was the fantastic view. The tiny house is perfect. Very equipped for 2. Wi-Fi is excellent and that surprised us because of the remote location. Great, perfectly maintained hot tub too! It was all wonderful. Really hope to get back there several times a year.

We had an enjoyable four-night stay, except for some bug bites while sleeping the last two nights. Very private and a quiet setting in nature. The cabin is well outfitted, and we were impressed with the quality of the dishes and cookware.

A few missing articles

We wish we had been alerted to the need for charcoal. Lighter Fluid was there. We also expected some kind of toiletries like shampoo or body wash neither was there. It might also be helpful to know the type of coffee maker that was available.

Cute Cabin

Ok, every review mentioned the driveway but let me tell you, I probably should have listened! It was wet and getting dark and I could barely get my SUV up the driveway. It took about 3 attempts. My wheels were unable to get traction with such a slippery, strep and long incline. You absolutely have to gun it. Also, there is no sign so be sure to read the driving directions very carefully. It was hard to find at first. That said, the location is awesome. So quiet and no noise pollution from neighbors or roads. Just the sound of the creek and the birds. Cabin is simple, yet clean and comfortable. All we needed. Thanks for the stay!

Carra's Cabin is like a slice of heaven.We enjoyed the peaceful ,beautiful setting. Sitting on the deck in the evenings we listened to the rush of water and watched fire flies. Perfect for a couple.

Perfect mountain spot for solitude and nature

Carras Cabin was the perfect weekend reset—peaceful, private, and utterly rejuvenating. We’ll definitely be back. This tiny cabin is perfectly appointed, cozy den, kitchen with everything needed to cook a meal with coffee in the morning. A tidy bedroom, bathroom and hot tub. We were able to enjoy downtown Saluda and hike Moore’s Cove Falls and take in Looking Glass Falls.

Private, remote tiny house

We stayed 3 nights in Carra's Cabin in May 2025 and it is a nice tiny house tucked away in the hills outside of Saluda. Definitely heed the other reviews about the steepness of the driveway. You can tell there was significant flooding damage to the road leading to the house but it was all passable. For us, the house was great - we weren't planning to spend a lot of time there - if you were going in weather where you planned to mostly stay indoors, just know it's relatively small and basic. But again, for what it was, it was great.

lockbox incident

the lockbox code on two of the cabins were the same code, created confusion once up on the mountain and only one cabin visible from the road, the lockbox on the wrong cabin ended up unlocking with the code that was provided, stayed in the wrong cabin on accident one night. had to leave wedding early to move items. owner threatened to move our stuff if we weren’t to get back to move all of our stuff out. we complied. also was accused of turning off hot tub disconnect AFTER the cleaning lady had came through and cleaned the hot tub in the other cabin.

Great little cabin...Peacful

The stay and the cabin are exactly as described and worked well for our weekend getaway. Beautiful sunrise! The area was hit hard by Helene and is recovering well! Roads are a bit unnerving if you are not from around the area. Definitely want to arrive during the day and if you can, drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We took our Ram 1500 truck and it struggled briefly at the getting up at the beginning of the steep driveway.

Really the perfect place for sweethearts

Everything about the place was perfect for us. It was so peaceful and the cabin was the perfect size for us. It was cozy and comfortable. You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for peace and quiet and no distractions. You can hear the water and there is no light pollution to take away from the beautiful night sky. Can’t say enough good things about Carra’s Cabin.

We have lived in Saluda for over 25 years. In the early 70’s Robert was Saluda’s first health care provider. After serving as the first Medical Director of the Saluda Medical Center he returned to his family occupation and his true passion…flying. His life as an ‘ag pilot’ has taken the entire family on remarkable journeys across the country for years. We love Saluda and nature and wanted to share that with others so we purchased the property and built Sandy Cut Cabins.

Nature is all around! Lots of hiking opportunities, tubing on the river, waterfalls, wineries, and Biltmore House are just some of reasons to visit Carra’s Cabin.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Secluded, quiet, peaceful, charming, river flowing along the road. The driveway is steep but 4 wheel drive/AWD isn’t required to drive up. Pickup trucks and hybrid vehicles tend to have more trouble with the incline. However, most of our guests manage to drive up without too much difficulty.
