The house was clean, the area was great. Only downfall was a random person walked thru the yard to the neighbors house but he didnt bother anyone. Just spooked us. But other then that jerry and jill were very helpful and nice. Thank you guys for trusting us with your vrbo home!

We've been to this property before... It's good for our annual trip from Georgia for an EIU and Illinois game. Glad we booked e.a.r.l.y. this year... who knew our Illini would be ranked #9!TVs are larger... rules are the same... no big surprises. We didn't use the house as our landing spot like before... but... kitchen is still above average... large fridge and freezer, well stocked for cooking and entertaining... spacious if your family gathers in the kitchen...Outdoor patio had wood and firepit... nice touch if y'all weren't setting record highs last weekend. Easy distance to Charleston and Mattoon. Super quiet neighborhood with the sweetest grannies across the street drinking coffee in their housecoats.It was fresher and cleaner the last time we there.we talked with someone new this time, definitely a different vibe. A week before our stay, I had asked for some input when our plans shifted to arrive earlier on our day of arrival. I made it clear I was happy to book the extra night but the response was definitely lukewarm ("it should be fine" "won't be a problem to arrive early if no one books"). I should've pushed to book, but normally hosts say definitively one way or the other, especially a week out. You can guess how this one ends... someone booked and i found out when i asked for arrival info. This in and of itself wasn't the issue, although it was super annoying. My issue will always be in how a host handles these things. Not my favorite.

Mattoon Stay

House is in a quiet neighborhood yet conveniently close to everything, restaurants, grocery stores, and parks. It was clean and spacious and particularly enjoyed that every room had a ceiling fan. Large TVs were also a plus. Will be staying again in the future.

Convenient & Cozy

Very nice, beginning to end. Easy access, amenities stocked nicely, but plenty of room for our own stuff, clean, comfortable, Netflix, and WOW! That tv!Will definitely book that one again if we are back in the area!

Nice Cozy Place

We enjoyed our stay. This place was exactly what was advertised. Two beds in one room that our kids stayed in and another bedroom and a fold out couch. Very clean and tidy place. Nice location near a park with a playground. Waved hi to the friendly neighbors and felt safe while staying there. The garage and basement are off limits, which is totally fair except I wondered what we would do if there was a tornado? A storm happened while we were there and that got me to thinking about that but luckily it was just rain and lightning. The only potential issue we had was that there were no curtains at the kitchen window and there was a spot at the top of front door that someone could see in but those are very minor things. There is a question about the lakefront experience and the house is nowhere near any body of water. That is probably just a mistake. They left a goody basket with some chips/snacks/candy which was a really nice touch. There were plenty of cleaning supplies in case there were any spills and we did end up needing them. There were also some books and games that the kids enjoyed as well as a few toys too. Next time we come back we would certainly consider staying here again.

Great House

I highly recommend this great house! It was very clean, nicely updated, roomy and comfortable in a great location. It was well stocked with everything we needed even a basket with snacks. The owner was very responsive. We had an excellent stay and will definitely stay again when in town visiting family and friends.

Great place to stay!

Everything about the stay from start to finish was convenient and the house was spotless! The affordable price made it much more economical for a family to stay versus a hotel. The main bedroom bed was unusually hard but the couch was very comfortable. Would recommend for sure!!

Awesome Hidden Gem

This house is adorable and perfect for your next trip to Mattoon. It has most everything you’ll need for a great stay. We did have to buy some toilet paper and paper towels but it’s okay because we weren’t at the mercy of a hotel and all the other people there.The house is in a perfect location for pretty much everything you’ll be doing. We will most definitely stay here again when we come back to town to visit family.

Great Family Stay

We had an excellent stay. The home was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The location was perfect—close to everything we needed. Getting in and out of the house with the smart-lock was easy and convenient. The owner was very responsive to my messages and accommodating. My toddler loved the big TV in the living room and the kids table. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend this place to others.

Good Little House

We were staying in the area to visit family. The house served perfectly as a 'home base'. We slept pretty well, though the queen bed was a little hard. The house was comfortable with smart TVs. Lots of supplies in in the kitchen. We were very happy and will likely stay again.
