Silverton Guest Cottage in the country

Guest cottage located 15 minutes from Historic downtown Silverton, 10 minutes from Silverton Reservoir and 20 minutes from Silver Falls State park. Master bedroom with Queen size bed, upstairs loft with 2 extra long twin beds, and twin size daybed in living room with twin trundle. Kitchenette has microwave, toaster, coffee maker, suitable for breakfast and heating up food. Full size fridge. Minimum stay 2 nights, Maximum stay 4 nights. This is a private guest cottage separate from our residence. Experience a taste of county life with Dogs, Cats, Alpacas, Goats, Turkeys & Chickens on our 9 acre's. Note for guests: While we are not “ off the grid”, we can and do loose power, have sketchy cell service and problems with * Wi. The downstairs is heated and cooled by a new mini split and will sleep 4 guests comfortably. There is a window air conditioner in the loft upstairs, but on hot days it still gets very stuffy and warm. We are in the COUNTRY, bugs and critters live here. We do not use Herbicides or Insecticides as we are a home to Bees. We our best to keep unwelcome visitors at bay, but sometimes they drop in uninvited. For guests who have allergies- we do have cats and dogs- and seasonally there is field buring in the area. PLEASE read the welcome email from VRBO that you will receive prior to your stay. It will have detailed directions and contact numbers, the property can be challenging to find.
*We have been having major issues with Wi-fi, so while there is a booster in the guest house we can’t guarantee you Wi-fi, thus we have removed it from amenities.

This property is absolutely stunning. The hosts are incredibly nice and friendly. Its a very short drive to Silver Falls State Park, which we hiked and was NOT disappointed with its beauty. I highly recommend this place! Plus they have cute farm animals, which we enjoyed. We will be back to this property next time we come back that way!

Thank you Mavis & Dan — perfect spot for short a quiet getaway! Kindly let us use their bbq, animals all around were super friendly — even though I could never get the rest to let Leo get a treat. Neat place, “off the grid” but still close enough.

Beautiful little farm with guest house. Owners are very friendly and non-invasive. Property is extremely close to Silver Falls for hiking and also extremely close to Silverton, which is a cute little town to walk through for coffee, antiques, and meals. read all of the information about Wi-Fi and come prepared with some downloaded movies on your computer. lots of books and games to choose from and weather permitting outside areas to sit and enjoy a lot of nature! would definitely stay out again without hesitation, very comfortable and cozy! try OSO for dinner-excellent food and staff.

Great stay in the country

Set up was great for a group. Lots of space to spread out. Loved the tea and board games. They have goats and alpacas/lamas, which are very friendly. Easy parking in front. Wish we had better weather to explore the outdoors more, but a very nice place and would stay again.

Artistic home on a small farm

This cozy bungalow is artistically decked out throughout! If you are looking for a pristine uncluttered space, this is not for you. If you are enamored by interesting use of objects and space (like me), you will be enchanted. There are resident alpacas, goats and chickens with polite rooster as well. Would stay there again!

Silverton on the Country

Overall, a nice stay in Silverton. Mavis was very responsive to our needs, and checked in regularly to make sure we were comfortable. Would recommend this property as a good rural location wirh close proximity to Silver Falls State Park.

Beautiful welcoming home

This was a beautiful home very clean and friendly hosts. We came up for Silver falls national park and it was just 10 minutes down the road which was great after the 7 mile hike. Definitely recommend.

A comfortable cottage with character

We had a very nice weekend stay. We enjoyed the spaciousness, the comfortable furniture, the fun and quirky art, and of course the goats and alpacas. The host was exceptionally gracious and helpful. Lovely property.

Beautiful place to stay!

We loved staying on this property for our short weekend. We wished we could have stayed longer. Mavis and Dan are super nice people and the guest cottage is delightful! We loved visiting and giving snacks to the alpacas and goats. Even the rooster was a warm welcome each morning! Definitely will stay here again if we are ever in Silverton!

Interesting

Charming country cottage BUT the place is covered with interesting Witchcraft/voodoo like decor. It might not bother some but you definitely have to be okay with being surrounded by it. Nowhere in the description or reviews were there any warnings to the creepy environment. Mavis is super nice and I know it’s her “art” but it made us feel uneasy. It would have been nice to know what we were going in to. My husband will not ever being staying there again but I do have family and friends that found it interesting and would like to stay there JUST to see her art for themselves.

Beautiful Place

We loved staying here!! Dan and Mavis are accommodating and so friendly. We loved seeing their animals....a nice addition. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. The air conditioner was a definite plus. One thing that would be helpful if staying more then a couple days would be a stove. But, we did fine with microwave for our two day stay. .

We were charmed!

If you love art, animals and the outdoors, you will love your stay in this cute little guest cottage as much as we did! The owners are so generous with their time and property. The decor in and around the property is full of quirky, interactive and fun art. We got to feed the alpacas and goats daily and loved playing with Stella the enthusiastic and sweet dog. Lenny the rooster was chatty but added to the charm for us. The loft bedroom was too warm during the heatwave but we slept 4 adults comfortably downstairs. The perfect spot for our Silver Falls adventures as it was only 9 miles away. Silverton is a cute town nearby with plenty of nice restaurants so not having a stove wasn’t a problem at all. We would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Want to get away and have some peace?

This guest cottage is off the beaten path, complete with farm animals, flowers, trees, and a country-like feel. Mavis and Dan were very friendly hosts. Although they live on the property, they respect your privacy, while being available for questions. The place has a typical farmhouse feel with Mavis' artistic touch. Definately a place to get away from city life. All cooking has to be done by microwave and toaster, so plan accordingly. Internet is sketchy. Otherwise, all needed amenities are provided. Comfortable bed, large refreigh, nice shower. We called it our "home" while spending the days at Silver Falls State Park "camping, swimming and hiking" with our kids and grandkids. It was perfect for this as it was about 13 min away from the Park. Great place to come back to, clean up, and get a good night sleep.

Cozy and Peaceful

Perfect location. Great, comfortable little house away from town, but close enough to get what you need. Very quiet and peaceful. Midway between Silverton and Silver Falls State Park. Mavis and Dan were excellent hosts.

Wonderful retreat

We stayed for a wedding at silver falls and it was the perfect distance. The owner was so kind and thoughtful with the amenities. It was a very peaceful place to spend a few days. Would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay

Mavis and Dan were great hosts. Beautiful country, great location , creative furnishings and art displayed on every wall. Friendly farm animals (Alpacas and goats ) . Located close to the state park . We'll be back for sure . Thanks Mavis and Dan we really appreciate the home.

Great cozy cottage!

The property is just as advertised. The hosts were great! They even made sure we had snacks to feed the Alpacas and goats! We had a great time! The beds were all comfortable, there was plenty of space for 3 adult women friends on a girls weekend. We would stay here again if we need a place in that area in the future. Thank you Mavis and Dan
