Pine Grove Cottage is cozy three bedroom, one bathroom rental located in Chambersburg, PA. It is sparkling clean and offers a peaceful atmosphere, making your stay a relaxing one.

We offer a fully functional eat-in kitchen for your basic cooking needs, and a cozy living room for relaxation and family time. One bedroom has a queen bed, one has a full bed, and one has two sets of twin bunk beds. The breezeway/sunroom offers extra living space as well. There is one full bathroom and the basement has laundry facilities and a ping-pong table for your enjoyment.

If your check-out date falls on a Sunday, we offer free 6:00 PM Sunday checkout. It's our way of saying thank you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

- We kindly ask that there are no fireworks, loud music, or rowdy behavior.

- Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

- Kindly remember to clean up after your dog by picking up any feces before your departure.

- Please be aware that there will be a $50.00 fee per pet.

- Please be aware you will be charged 10% of the total trip at booking and the remaining 90% will be charged to the card on file, thirty days before check-in.

Served its purpose

The house absolutely served its purpose. A nice comfortable place to stay out in the country; however, we did have a few issues during our stay. Starting with the good: the home is very well stocked and matches the posting very well. There isn’t a TV, which was actually quite nice. They had badminton, slap ball, and some other outdoor activities, which was really fun. The beds were comfy and the area was pleasant. As for the bad: bugs. During our stay, there were bugs everywhere! Flies are somewhat expected being out in the country, but inside we saw numerous bugs. The biggest issue though was communication. During the stay, the house lost power. Everyone else had it, just the house didn’t. We reached out and no one responded at all. Even called the “emergency line” and still no one answered or called back. I was able to eventually cycle the breakers, but we were only able to get partial power. We still could not cook, no AC, and only partial lighting. Still 24 hours after reaching out and no one responded. I’m really glad we didn’t have an issue with the door lock, because I’m sure we’d still be waiting outside…. So the last night, we ended up sweating it out with minimal power and not being able to cook breakfast the next morning. At this point, I’m hoping the owner eventually does reach out to address the issue.

Friends get-away

This is a very peaceful home. Loved having 3 bedrooms, and the beds were comfortable. Host was great at answering any of our questions. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Very pleasant stay!

This property was comfortable with lots of little extras to make the stay pleasant. The location was a quick drive to Chambersburg to grab some groceries/carry out or to walk the rail trail. Or you can drive a little further to Shippensburg or Caledonia. The kitchen was well equipped, the oven and stove worked well, and we found some basics in the pantry...plus some extras like a great pancake mix! We found the two larger beds to be comfortable and there are lots of blankets to choose from to get exactly how you like to sleep. The shower had good water pressure and temperature, but its a high step to get into over the attached tub, which may be difficult if you have mobility issues. The dogs loved the large front and back yards, but the roads along both are pretty busy. It wasn't a problem for us because the dogs were always on a leash. The one thing that would make this property better would be some outdoor lighting, specifically around the parking area and the front and back areas around the breezeway area that connects the house to the garage. Carrying luggage or groceries into the house in the dark and eating dinner outside in the back, lit by the kitchen light through the windows, was quite difficult. Overall this is one of the best places I have stayed. It was a great home base to go to work and visit family, and also enjoy the natural beauty of Franklin county. dogs

SHORT GETAWAY

Chambersburg, Shippensburg PA had a lot of flea markets and festivals which we really enjoyed. The house was nice but we had a WiFi. Reach out on Thursday the day we arrived and still could not get service. Tried different suggestions from the host but nothing worked. I would have liked if someone would have came to the house to look at the problem or fix it.

Quiet country stay

Was very nice to see a few staples available upon check in. This made for a much more relaxed atmosphere. Just far enough away from the town to enjoy the quiet, yet close enough to make a short trip to obtain essentials. The only addition we'd recommend is a small fenced in area for little ones. The road behind the house can get busy at times. Would highly recommend for a weekend getaway. Cheers,

Peaceful Country Home

My husband and two teens (boy and girl) really appreciated the ability to spread out and have privacy as compared to our hotel stays. Clean property, great view of the mountains, short trip to sites. It’s a fixed up older home so we didn’t have 3-pronged outlets to charge our electronics except in the kitchen, but we managed. I think it is important to unplug once in awhile and look around. That’s exactly what we did. The house felt very homey and comfortable. We loved it!

Would stay with this host again

Hiccup getting in the property and took a while to reach anyone. Never received email with code and was unable to reach host by phone, called vrbo customer service who seemed to be confused that we did not book through Expedia. Eventually we received calls and messages from the host. Next time I will be sure to have check in email before leaving.

Short but comfortable

Arrived earlier than check in time. They let us drop our bags and were very accommodating. Stay was nice and quiet and no issues. Strong wifi but as others have mentioned no tv, which was fine. Nice ping pong table in the exceptionally clean basement

A WONDERFUL hideaway!

I can't say enough good things about our stay at this sweet property on the outskirts of town. We live in a metro area of South Florida, so to be able to spend a week in the quietness of the country was a true treat for our family. The house met our needs perfectly. We were a few minutes from everywhere we needed to be in Chambersburg to meet up with family, and we were able to come back to this comfortable home and enjoy our time together. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to watch my children (7, 6, and 4) explore in the backyard in the mornings while I drank my coffee and in the evenings as they ran around chasing lightning bugs. We had a lovely vacation in Chambersburg, but our time at this house was truly one of the highlights. My husband and I were nervous at first about the lack of a tv, but we were excited to give our family the opportunity to be completely screen-free. I'll be honest, it was wonderful! The kids' imaginations were able to run wild! The accommodations were extremely well thought out. The simplicity of the decorations were calming, the bath towels were so plush, the beds were to-die-for comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. I hope we have the opportunity to stay here again! 10/10 recommend!!

Online listing was inaccurate, said 3 bed, 3 bath, upon arrival discovered only 1 bath. Very close to Road, pictures made it seem more set back. No dishwasher. No TV, which wasn’t noted until check in instructions.

Great Stay!

Really clean cozy home for our family during the holidays. We had a great time getting together with family in the area. We traveled in from Texas and had no issues with this property at all. Highly recommend.

Nice property

The property is very nice and in a quiet location. Stocked with plenty of towels and washcloths in addition to having a washer and dryer. Everything was clean and in great condition. The only bad thing I can say is there was no TV. This probably needs to be made clear on the listing when booking. Other than that very nice property.
