Meadow View Cottage

Upon arriving at this beautiful, peaceful home you will feel connected to nature. Roam the many paths, fish the pond, sit around the campfire, or curl up in the window seat with a good book. Our favorite way to end the day is to sit on the bench down by the pond and watch the sunset with its beautiful colors. Don't be surprised if you wake up in the morning to find deer in the backyard. Inside the home you will find everything you need for a relaxing stay. The Cottage is connected to our home by the laundry room. You will have plenty of privacy but are connected to the main house. The stairs to the second floor are also steep so if you have mobility issues you are more than welcome to set up the air mattress on the first floor if need be!

You are welcome to roam the paths. However, please do not cross any bridges or enter any external buildings as they are under construction.
Should you use the fire pit someone must watch it at all times and make sure its put out after use. There is a hose next to the front door if needed.

Loved the "old world" charm of this quiet cottage in a woodsy area. The soft glow of the string lights adds a sweet, calming touch. Very private living space even though attached to the main house. Appreciated the hospitality- hosts were friendly and welcoming. Quaint and comfy - evenings spent at this cottage after a day of exploring is a happy memory.

My son and I LOVED this cozy stay! This location was on the list for our trip to NYC. We were close enough to Newark, NJ to take the train into NYC for a day trip! The location was perfect. So peaceful and beautiful. I felt so lucky to have stayed here two days! I highly recommend this location for anyone!

Beautiful & Cozy

Such a cozy cabin. The area is so peaceful, it was great to spend the morning sitting in the window watching the forest and nearby creek. The lighting makes everything feel warm and cozy too. The windows in the bedroom let in a lot of nice sunlight. The stairs are a little steep, but not too bad once you get the hang of them.

Very cute place!

A lot of time spent put into decorating and making this little cottage inviting and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and had the essentials and many spices and k cups to choose from! Very quiet and secluded space with a lot of history to look at with the buildings on the property.

Great time!

Totally rustic. Definitely a nice step away from modern day lodgings. Pretty cozy. Had great communications with the property owner. Would recommend.

A great weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at this little cottage. It was very nice, had many amenities including plenty of cookware and the owners were and are very helpful and kind. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend getaway. One thing that I really loved was the griddle built into the gas stove!

Great weekend getaway!

Communication with the host was great! The location was central to many places we wanted to visit. It was very quiet and cozy. We didn’t cook there, but the kitchen was well stocked. The host left snacks and a sweet welcome letter. The coffee and tea selection was on point! Will definitely stay again!

First time VRBO user put at ease with first reservation

It was a relatively simple process to find, reserve, and stay in the location at the Meadow View Cottage. Contact with the property manager was seamless. Overall, it was a pleasant and smooth stay.

Cozy and Friendly

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The owners are really nice and have a beautiful property that is well within driving distance to a lot of fun things to do. Interior has a cottage vibe and is really cozy! One thing that we didn't realize was that the cottage is connected to the owner's house. For those truly looking to get away from everything for a weekend, just know that the cottage is its own unit but not its own building. We really enjoyed our time and would definitely stay here again!

Anniversary trip

My husband and I stayed in this cottage for our anniversary. The pictures of the listing were accurate, but the listing failed to mention that the cottage is attached to a residence and sits directly in front of a shop. It was clean but there were areas that needed more attention. There was definitely some temperature swings between day and night, and between the first and second floor. The owner resolved issues we had promptly. Even though there were some hiccups, we appreciated the stay. Thank you!

Cozy, comfortable cotrage

I was looking for a quiet & peaceful retreat to ring in the New Year and Meadow View Cottage was just the ticket!I enjoyed a glorious crackling fire in the outdoor fire pit, brisk walks along the creek and pond, and nothing but birdsong, foxes barking, and cows mooing for sounds.I got the rest & recharge I sorely needed in the cozy comfort of the cottage.The climb up into the loft for sleeping is steep and was a little tough without a railing on the left, but I was able to manage it in spite of increasingly stiff knees. I would recommend folding out the sofa downstairs for anyone with mobility issues.The fairy lights throughout really added to the magic for me and made my New Year special.

Rustic yet welcoming

Property was as described just lacking additional information. The property was just as pictured with the exception of access to the bedroom. The steps to the bedroom are very narrow and steep with a difficult landing at the top. Coming down the stairs takes some cautious negotiation as the railing does not go to the top of the stairs. The unit was attached to the main house but this did not seem to be an issue. Also there is an abundance of books to read and a beautiful view out back of the woods.

The cottage smelled moldy. The coffee pot had old green sludgy water in it. We were left a note that there were coffee and tea. I did not feel it was my place to clean the coffee pot or the tea kettle. The shower floor was black and around the drain was black and moldy. I wish I had taken pictures. The stairs were dangerous. I had to drop to my knees to get into the bedroom. NO RAILING. No tv at all. Who does that? I was so excited by looking at the pictures and the reviews to only be disappointed. We did not feel safe in the cottage at all. Only 2 window had curtains. We had to put a stand-up mirror Infront of the window in the bedroom jus to feel like we had some privacy. That say a lot from my husband and I not to want to go back and stay. We felt we had no choice but to leave. So, I paid for the cottage for 2 1/2 nights for nothing. What a waste of money. I hope that your company does a better job of previewing properties before you list them on your site. Doe does not look good on you. Not sure if I would recommend or book another property on your site.

A beautiful place to stay

Me and my husband spent our 28 year wedding anniversary at the most wonderful place we had so many places to choose from but through faith we chose this place we could not ask for a better place to stay everything was as described and even more there's nothing that we could not ask for everything was there for us the Father was very very helpful very polite very pleasant to talk to The people that owned the property were very pleasant if you needed them we just text them and they answered us back within 10 minutes everything about the property was so beautiful the fire pit we woke up every morning we seen dear it was so quiet and peaceful it was clean very clean everything you need it was there they have a coffee pot and again there is no TV but why would you want to want a TV when you're staying at a place where you wake up and there's deer squirrels chipmunks and everything you need was is within driving range within a half hour we had we had such a wonderful time there and we plan to go back again as I said earlier we had other places to choose from but we chose this place I'm very happy and so is my husband that we found this place there's nothing that you could not ask for at this location we are very happy that we chose this and we again as I said earlier we will be going back The people that owns his property are very pleasant very polite very friendly and they do not bother you at all

Comfortable Bed, Lovely Area

Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the location was beautiful. We came primarily for antique shopping and thrift stores and this place felt centrally located to plenty of shops. It's quiet and serene. We saw deer and chipmunks in the back yard. Cons: No tv or radio. When we arrived, we found that the kitchen was not clean. There was food and grease left on the stove from the last renters and the cabinet shelf holding the mugs was sticky. The griddle on the stove had not been washed. (However, the bedding was clean and so was the bathroom). The stairs should be pictured in the listing. They are steep and very narrow. Anyone with any mobility issues or balance issues would not be able to use them. I would have rather had a ladder up to the bedroom. The host asks that you put the sheets in the washing machine which is in a shared portion of the home. There's a sign that tells you to watch your noggin but it was far too late by then. I had already bashed my head on a low doorframe. A sign on the door leading from the rental to the laundry room would have been more helpful. The rental is attached to the host's home and there are no curtains or blinds on the windows.

Rustic Cottage Getaway

This cottage was an amazing long weekend get away! This was a great place to rest our heads. The bedroom is located in the loft which added to the whimsical nature of the cottage. Overall a great rustic cottage!!
