Immerse yourself back in time at this retro themed surf house located in the New England styled Vermillion, just 30 minutes to Cedar Point! Our property is near the adorable downtown shopping area, restaurants, and Main Street Beach! Our seaside community provides an ambiance that is both relaxing and stimulating, featuring numerous festivals and live music throughout the summer.

You will have access to the entire home.

Incredible place to stay

We stayed for one night after a full day at Cedar Point. Sitting in the hot tub was definitely needed after all those coasters. The owners thought of everything, and the decor was on point with a 1950's beach theme. We had a wonderful time and would stay again.

Summer beach break

We have been driving up from Cincinnati every summer for the last 9 years. There are not too many places to stay. This was the only one that made sense for me and my daughter. It was pretty far out from where we normally stay.. but it worked out just fine. We had a great time. Love the vibe of the house. Could use a little tlc outside, but overall great space. Thank you!!

Anniversary getaway

Cute house, just as described! Had all we needed for a relaxing getaway. Close to restaurants and downtown shops, and local parks. Communication with host was great too. Would definitely stay here again!

Great little town!

We wanted to visit Cleveland without staying in Cleveland and this little beach town was perfect. The house was super cute and great distance from town. The neighborhood was quiet. The bathrooms were well stocked with soaps and towels. We were even able to enjoy the hot tub! We loved being able to bring our dogs too!

New Year’s Eve 2023

Some friends and I rented this surf shack over New Year’s Eve 2023 and had a lovely time making food and enjoying each other’s company. It was a perfect spot to chill out and relax.

Perfect

This was such a perfect cottage. It had quaint decorations, a lovely hot tub, and it was close to downtown Vermilion. I could see it being a great location for a family heading to Cedar Point as well. The host, Lisa, communicated well when I had questions. The record player even worked and was a fun addition. I would definitely recommend!!

Felt Like Home

Jumping spiders and a slow draining tub drain made us feel right at home. The beds were so comfy, we looked to see what brand of mattress it was. The retro touches were perfect for the house’s design. The kitchen had everything we needed. The parks and lighthouses in the area were a real treat. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming with much information of places to visit and parks to check out.

Perfect friends' trip overnight!

This was a lovely spot for a quick overnight with an old friend. We enjoyed the sparkling clean hot tub and the comfortable living room. The kitchen might be a little sparse for cooking a family meal, but was absolutely perfect for drinks, snacks, and breakfast. The house is adorable, comfortable, perfectly clean, and just the right size! The location was incredibly convenient to Vermillion shops, restaurants, and close to other activities we wanted to do (boat trip out of Lorain, vineyards). Would absolutely come back!

Great little spot

Lovely place, very clean and great location. Communication wasn't the easiest for check-in; was told we'd get code that afternoon and never received it so we had to call, leave a message and get called back. Also, there was nothing to step on to get into the hot tub which made it difficult to enjoy.

Super hip little place by the lake

I grew up in Vermilion and came home to see family but wanted my own space. I found a gem in this rental. It is so neat. Like a trip back in time. The retro kitchen and decor kept me on the couch for a good 20 minutes while I stared at all the little bits or work they put into making this a cool "surf house". The beds were very comfortable and everything worked as promised. The location of the house is very close to both the lake as well as local places to shop and eat. I would most definitley stay here again and would recommend to anybody passing through.

Long weekend

Enjoyed the stay, house was very clean, location was good for us, price was reasonable. We had seven adult sized people which is the max advertised- and it wasn’t super comfortable with that number of guests. Couch folds down but is not comfortable at all, one bedroom had a fan but no air conditioning, and one bathroom for 7 was a challenge. Some of these things we could have thought through a little more in the planning (our fault) some not. Overall, the stay was enjoyable- would definitely recommend for either 4-5 adult guests or some children/adult combo.

Poor communication

We booked this Vrbo rather than a hotel because we wanted the private hot tub and the hot tub doesn’t work. I messaged the host and received no response. To be fair, I did message late at night, but didn’t expect an immediate response that late. I did however expect a response in the morning but was ignored. I stay at Vrbo’s fairly often and most places have a binder full of instructions for things like this and a phone number to contact the host. This property does not have that. While the property was clean, I felt that the total lack of communication was unacceptable and would not stay here again.

Quick getaway

It was very nice but the owner should resolve the following. Need new blinds. Half of the blinds don’t work. the lamp in the master bedroom has no lightbulb and the switch is broken. Probably better to just not have a lamp. The bathroom door lock is broken. My wife got locked in the bathroom and it took a lot of work to get the lock to disengage. The lamp in the master b

Cute house but could use some extra attention.

The house is an adorable nicely decorated MCM in Vermilion. It was only a 5 minute drive to the beach/downtown area. The owners were great communicators and willing to accomodate us. We enjoyed our stay but feel there are just a few little things missing that other rentals always have. 1. Even though most people might not cook, the kitchen should have plenty of dish towels and baking dishes. There weren't any wine glasses. Also have Keurig pods since there is a Keurig coffee maker. 2. The house states it can sleep up to seven people, therefore it should have plenty of toilet paper, garbage bags, (ran out of both of those) and kitchen table chairs. The bathroom soap dispenser on the sink was empty. 3. I know that houses near the lake have bugs and cobwebs, but the house should have been tended too before we arrived. Grab a broom and sweep the bugs and webs away.
