Take a scenic mountain drive and find yourself nestled amongst the pine trees in Wrightwood, California. Welcome to our Moonlight Retreat, a beautiful & oh so cozy cabin located on a quiet mountain road in one of Southern California’s best kept secrets.

The Moonlight Retreat is an 850 square foot property originally built in 1932 which has been lovingly restored and redecorated by the homeowner. Cozy on up next to the wood burning fireplace underneath the wood vaulted ceilings and enjoy the magical atmosphere that only the mountains can provide. The cabin offers a fully stocked kitchen for all of your cooking needs, a beautiful open concept bedroom, a closed-off bedroom, and a full bathroom.

The best part about this cabin is the large charming outdoor space. The entire property opens to an expansive side & front yard that provides great space for enjoying the mountain air. The back yard features an outdoor dining bistro set for 2 and a Jacuzzi.

Home Details

Bedroom 1: Queen bed in an open loft attached to the living room
Bedroom 2: Full bed; the head and foot of the bed are walls, so please note this room is better suited for children or shorter individuals

Bathroom 1: Located next to the full bedroom; single vanity and shower

Ideally suited and priced for two guests. We can accommodate up to four, but there is an additional $25 per person per night.


Kitchen: Two small sized refrigerators with small freezer compartments, gas range, gas oven, microwave, Keurig pod & French press. Fully stocked with utensils, crock pot, cookware, and dishware. Our tap water is good for drinking, cooking, and everything else.

Dining Room: Located next to stairs in the main living room. Small sized table ideal for 2-4 guests.

Living Room: 3 seater couch with fireplace and Smart TV

Front Patio: Amazing space to overlook the large front yard & views.

Back/side Yard: Hot tub is situated on the side/back of the property. Dining bistro for two. Note: Neighbors are nearby and no enclosed fencing. Please, no pets.

We are always available to be reached by phone or messaging system for any concerns or questions you may have.

The Moonlight Retreat is located in a small residential neighborhood with close by neighbors. Due to the terrain of the neighborhood, sound is easily carried. We ask that all guests please be respectful of our neighbors. Quiet time for the property is from 9 PM - 9 AM. Parties or loud activity will not be tolerated and will be subject to $1000 noise violation plus additional fines issued by San Bernardino County and termination of your stay.

***Due to the mountainous terrain of the cabin, SoCal Edison occasionally has Maintenance Power Outages during periods of expected high wind or other periods of high high fire risk weather. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause***

The Location

The lodge is located one block from downtown Wrightwood and 4 miles from Mountain High Resort. The downtown area offers great eateries and entertainment, including local shops, a brewery, live music on select days, and a farmers market every Friday.

There is an abundance of gorgeous hiking trails perfect for either a quick stroll and a picnic, or more strenuous hikes to epic vistas overlooking the surrounding Angeles National Forest. For travelers looking to explore local Southern California the property is located only an hour and a half from the famous Southern California beaches. Where else can you ski and surf in the same day?!

FIREPLACE: Please do not light a fire if you are not familiar with how to; always keep the screen up! We supply one Duraflame log per winter night (starting 21st December). If you know how to build a fire and want to add a log NEVER add more than one piece of wood to the Duraflame. NEVER LEAVE THE CABIN IF YOU HAVE A LIVE FIRE. We have an ash bucket on the rock deck for cold ashes.

+ Please check the weather prior to your stay so you can be properly prepared. We are in an area that can get hot in the summer, very cold in the winter and can experience high winds. We will not issue refunds for weather issues, or road closures that are out of our control.

+ When visiting a mountain town, it`s important to be aware that you may encounter various types of insects and bugs due to the natural environment. No refunds will be issued, though we make every effort to manage pest control.

Water Filter: We have a Brita water filter available at the cabin.

+ We strongly encourage purchasing travelers insurance, especially in the winter months.

CHECK-IN after 4 PM unless earlier time is prearranged.
(If the night before is unbooked, early check-in may be available starting at 9 AM. Latest check-in is by 9 PM.)

CHECK OUT at 10 AM unless later time is prearranged; property assistant will arrive at the time.

We have parking for 3 vehicles right in front of the house.

KEY CODE for door is the last 4 digits of your phone number on contract.

NON-SMOKING: $200 FINE FOR EVIDENCE OF SMOKING

Furniture is NOT to be moved around; this creates scratches in the wooden floors.

TV: Smart TV with remote, feel free to log into your own subscriptions.

COFFEE: Keurig drip/pod coffee maker; coffee pods will be supplied

BATHROOM: Only flush #1, #2 and toilet paper…we are on a septic system.

TRASH & RECYCLING: roll outs by garage. Roll out to curb on MONDAY night, please!

HEAT: Heat is provided by the gas wall heater to the left of the fireplace.
Open the bottom panel of the wall heater and turn the green dial for increase in temperature (4-6 is a comfortable temperature) to the red line (or 11 o’clock position).
Please do not press any other buttons, as that will disable to system.
Keep the ceiling fan on low to move the hot air down from the ceiling for circulation throughout the cabin.

SNOW ETIQUETTE:
Chain control: 4x4 and All Wheel Drive vehicles must have mud and snow or snow tires and carry chains for access in snowy weather.

Parking and trespassing violations: Many locations on the mountain are private property and violators trespassing onto private property may be cited or arrested.

Trash: the public is reminded to take out what they bring in, including trash. Please if you pack it in, pack it out!

Weather hazards: Snow and rain increase hazardous driving conditions, so please exercise additional care when driving on slippery or iced over roadways.
