A beautifully re-done historical home located in the heart of Monahans! This home was built in 1910 and has a rock from all 50 states used in the building of it. This home boasts 3 inviting bedrooms, two with a queen bed and one with a twin over full bunk bed, 2 bathrooms, an open living space, kitchen and dining area. With amenities like a washing and drying machine, AC, heating, Free parking, and WiFi, guests will have everything they need for a comfortable stay. This property is the perfect space to host get-togethers or just stay in for the weekend! Our place will help you feel at home while you're traveling in Monahans.

The bricks on the sidewalks were broken the second we arrived. We did not bust them up. After the super hard freeze and snow, they started falling more. My husband had to go outside to insulate the water pipe in the very cold temperatures before the storm, so we could have water. Host never checked on it or on us during the storm. My husband has OCD and we don’t smoke. We had 2 of our employees come over during the freeze for steak and Shrimp and had our bbq pit on the porch and the smoke had to have come in that way. Every pot and pan in the house was disgusting, along with the one and only fork and spoon provided for us for a month. Air conditioner units filters so thick and dirty. Smell of gas coming from stove and no carbon monoxide detector anywhere, but several fire extinguishers. Smell of sewer was very strong throughout the stay and sewage backed up from toilet into shower, they did send someone out to clear that up at 9:00 pm. You never knew if door locks worked or not. Neighbors were loud building and constructing on their house at all hours of day and night and their dogs barked constantly. Cats would get under the house in crawl space and fight all night. Mouse hole in one bedroom that I had to stick a Brillo pad in. The mattresses are the worst we have ever slept on. Just because they say beautifully remodeled isn’t true, it takes more than one can of paint to do a remodel. Yes, there are a lot of cute Knick knacks everywhere, I would not recommend this house

OK House, Bad Location

We wouldn't stay here again because we ended up not feeling safe here. The neighbors across the street have a herd of dogs that they don't bother keeping in their yard. On multiple occasions the dogs were in the yard at this house we rented, growling and barking at us, they knocked over our trash can and spread our trash across the entire yard. We had also picked this house to allow our small children to have a yard to play outside, but ended up not being able to do that with the dog problem. When we arrived, one of the toilets was broken and wouldn't flush. Property maintenance came out same evening to repair it. He didn't have the parts to repair it but was able to get it working for the weekend if you jiggled the handle just right.... Overall, house was clean and owner response for issues was quick and good. We just wouldn't stay here again because these aren't issues we want to worry about when renting a home. Safety of our family is top priority and this home didn't give us that peace of mind due to the location.

Perfect Fit

The Rock House is a wonderful stay! Clean, bright, cheerful, and extremely comfortable. We were in town for a long weekend, but this house would be perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or a longer, extended stay for families. Would loved to have enjoyed the patio & yard, as well - just wasn't in the cards this trip. We cooked some meals & had everything we needed, as well. Keurig works for hot water for tea lovers (not all do!). Complimentary coffee is included. Fans throughout the house and excellent AC & Heat - we needed both. We will definitely return for other family activities in the area!
