Unwind in our 1 bedroom guest suite located in a lush 1 acre property nestled on a private road hilltop. Enjoy beautiful mountain views under a shady, extra large old Fig tree or on the fire pit area. Mingle with the chickens in their own large coup or swing under the fig tree. Drive 25 min to the beach, 10 min to the Wild animal park, 1.3 miles to Trader Joe’s grocery store or simply enjoy a 1 mile walk around the neighborhood loop. Relax in comfortable beds, luxury motorized soft leather recliners, a mini kitchen and a big screen smart TV.

Our stay at this charming Escondido cottage was absolutely wonderful! I visited with my daughter and two young granddaughters (ages 2 and 3) for a weekend wedding in San Marcos, and the location could not have been more convenient. The cottage was spotless, cozy, and beautifully maintained—complete with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.The property has such a peaceful atmosphere, with gorgeous views and thoughtful touches throughout. My granddaughters especially loved the swings, the friendly chickens, and saying “hello” to Mr. Phil, our gracious host. The fresh eggs were such a bonus!We truly enjoyed our time here and would love to return for another visit. Highly recommend this lovely retreat for anyone visiting the area!

This was a wonderful place to stay—just the right size for what we needed. The location is peaceful and quiet, and the home had everything we could ask for while being out of town. The host was very responsive and communicative, always quick to answer any questions. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay and will definitely make this our first choice if we’re in the area again.

Quaint perfect little house on the hillside

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed was already there, we were so excited to have fresh chicken eggs as a gift from the host and the beautiful happy chickens that we got to meet. I loved the garden and the swings were a hit for my grandchildren. They didn’t want to leave. We all really enjoyed our stay and the bed was so compfy, we were so grateful we didn’t have to run the ac because the windows when left open gave a fantastic cross breeze through the house. All in all we loved our stay. We would choose this home again.

Therese was a delightful hostess. While you share the home with her, she stays out of the home or in her bedroom when guests are present. Easy access to CWU, especially at graduation/move out or move in times. Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable bed. Lovely to have coffee and breakfast bread waiting in the morning.

Short commute

Thank you Phil for opening up your home to use while our house in Murrieta was under repair. What a nice area of Escondido with excellent views of the valley below. Great soaking tub and all the conveniences were appreciated. Such a nice touch to offer fresh eggs, s’mores making supplies and snacks. Great, relaxing stay just moments from my work.

Beautiful and just the right size

Beautiful rental for our family of 4. Short drive to San Diego Safari Park. The view from the patio and the fig tree with swings was so relaxing! Easy check in and out process, reserved parking spot. In very quiet residential area. Thanks again for the Easter goodies!

Comfortable, Clean, Quiet

I really enjoyed my time here. The bed was comfortable, the amenities were great, and I was easily able to relax. Great set up with the TV and bar. The electric stove, air fryer, fridge, and microwave have you all the amenities of home. I have stayed in other VRBO's where these aspects are missing. The shower is spacious, deep, and has great water pressure. There is a bidet too which is appreciated. The chickens were awesome, and the complimentary half dozen eggs were a nice treat. Phil was a very courteous host. There if you needed him, and gave you your space if you didn't. I will be coming back next year!

This home was very cozy with a great atmosphere. The accommodations were excellent. I wish we would have had more time there to enjoy the lovely patio. Phil was an excellent host.

Charming and Quiet

This was the perfect place for me and my dog to stay while my house was being renovated. The bed is very comfortable, the bathtub is amazing, the kitchen is well-appointed. I heard nothing but the birds and an occasional car passing by as I sat under the massive oak tree and drank my morning coffee and worked. Great communication with the owner.
