This charming cottage is situated just north of Yachats, where the 804 trail begins and offers wonderful ocean views from the great room and upstairs master bedroom retreat. Ideal for a small family or group of 4 to 6, it features a small TV lounge adjacent to the living area, one bedroom with twin beds and two downstairs bathrooms, one with a stall shower and one with a tub/shower combo. Fully equipped kitchen with handy breakfast bar adds to great room function. Cheerful, upbeat décor and rustic vaulted ceiling provide a relaxing backdrop for your Yachats getaway, and the expansive deck with ample outdoor furniture is ideal for enjoying our sunny days. Elderly parents coast trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My older parents wanted to see the coast so we booked this rental. Very easy for them to access the limited steps and bedroom close to the bathroom. There is one step from the bedroom to the bathroom that they did not have any problem with. The view was as advertised and good. Access to the beach was not possible for them but can drive just up the road to Smelting Sands or Yachats for that. The house is dog friendly with a fenced yard which was great!

Perfect location for east beach access

We have stayed in yachats a few times and this is the first time at Serendipity and we absolutely loved it! Beautiful home with amazing views. Perfect for the family and had super easy access to the ocean. We loved it so much!!

It was such a wonderful lovely experience. I got this place for a mini getaway with my parents because it was my father’s birthday. The Manager of the property was super duper accommodating and friendly from the beginning of my stay to the end. I will definitely be back for some more adventures and am happy to have had such a wonderful host! Just want to applaud and thank them for allowing us to stay and enjoy the beach house!

Beautiful view of the ocean!

The house is a comfortable beach house with ocean view. Close to a beach access, with a great beach to walk on with our dogs. The beach access is a little steep, and you have to walk across sloping rock and a small stream to get to the beach. The main bedroom is spacious and is upstairs. The second bedroom, with twin beds, is downstairs on the main level. There is no light in that room to turn on with the wall switch, so you have to walk into the room and turn on a bedside lamp for light. The beds were comfortable. There are many personal items (clothing in the closets, toiletries in the bathrooms) which is a little different than many rentals, but the house is clean and well kept. It felt like a home stay. The kitchen is generally well supplied with dishes and cooking pans etc. There's little storage space for groceries so we kept things on the counters and in grocery bags. We managed meals for four adults pretty easily. The fenced yard worked great for having our dogs with us. Overall a good stay. We enjoyed being in Yachats.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is an interesting place to stay, beach access is tricky but ultimately doable. The view of the ocean from the home is limited but just step outside and walk a bit. Downstairs is great, upstairs not so much. The management company is GREAT - I locked myself out as I was packing up and they had someone out to let me in very quickly. I recommend this place as long as you know what you are getting.

Perfect Holiday get away on the OR coast

A good location on the coast to beach walk, and investigate tide pools. Great restaurants while a quiet peaceful experience. Roomy, well furnished home. Would visit again!

Nice visit

We enjoyed this beach house. It is well equipped and comfortable. The view is great with a nice deck. The location is good, but the beach access is tough for older folks and old dogs.

Perfect Mini-Getaway

When we arrived there was a power outage and the management company was responsive and provided updates. Once the lights were back we continued catching up with our granddaughters. The location is perfect and so beautiful. It meet our needs perfectly. We enjoyed exploring local sites and relaxing on the coast.

After booking, I wasn't able to get ahold of them. I will never do business through them again. Fortunately Ocean Odyssey called at some point and they were great. Helpful and professional, I'll be booking directly through them in the future. The place was very sweet, fully stocked kitchen, lots of towels, very clean and comfortable, lovely location, great price...

Nice Sewing weekend

Had a wonderful Sewing weekend with a friend on a rainy and cold Oregon long weekend in November. Everything was wonderful except we had difficulty adjusting heat to be warm enough but not too warm in upstairs bedroom and baseboard heater in downstairs bedroom didn't seem to work at all. Found space heater in LR to bring into bedroom though. Otherwise, loved all the conveniences and such a great relaxing view of the ocean.

We had to quit using that bathroom because the flys just kept getting in. There were probably 50 dead flys I killed in that bathroom. We couldn't figure out how they kept getting in.

A great week in Yachats

The home is very well outfitted, furnishings very comfortable. Only criticism is poor or lack of usable lighting in downstairs bedroom. 2 lamps are provided with switches on cords but family member tripped going into dark room and had to fumble about to get a light on. Surely the wall switch is connected to an outlet that could be used to switch on a light with the wall switch. Fortunately she only was bruised from tripping and going down onto a suitcase. The location is lovely and the home inviting and comfortable

Yachats

Great home, furnishings and amenities but, couldn’t turn down/off the heat in the twin bedroom so couldn’t use it. And the house with thermostat 60 or below and with doors open was too hot. No beach access at all and fencing that isn’t shown in the pictures you provide that blocks a lot of the view. I called Katy and ask if there was easy beach access and was told yes. We had to walk up to Hwy 101, up to spindrift rd and go down there. So disappointed.

It was an okay stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental location was wonderful, very close to Yachats but definitely outside the main town, with great views of the ocean and beach from the living room. Our main issues were that this location isn't great for anyone ~6ft tall, shower head was very low, window frames also low, garage very low, etc. There are oddly at least 4 cameras sitting in different windows of the house next door, all pointing away from that house and towards the rental, such that we felt the need to pull up blinds for privacy. No clear indications of whether the neighborhood has access to the beach, unless you read other reviews to learn of the steps near the creek. Lots of "no, please, be gentle" notes on nearly every wall, which made it hard to feel comfortable using the space. There's a CD player and a speaker with only a iPad dock. Heating was tricky to fine tune with not every heater being attached to thermostat, upstairs and bathroom with tub are either very cold or very hot.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As always, we loved staying at Serendipity, a place that we refer to as our home away from home. This is the first time, in the many years and visits that we've been coming, that I am leaving comments that are less than stellar. The issue is cleanliness. We are paying more than we ever have for the cleaning service, but found ourselves doing a lot more cleaning, and that we from the moment we arrived. The kitchen reeked of bacon grease and we had to take to cleaning every surface, particularly in and around the stove and microwave, to get rid of the smell. Also, the bathroom with the off the kitchen had a urine-like smell that we could not get rid despite multiple interventions.There was orangey face foundation on both pillow shams in the room with two twin beds that we had to spot clean and wash (got it out!).Then there were small things like coffee grounds still in the coffee maker. Also, for four people staying for six days, there was very little toilet paper available. We're fine about brining our own, but because we never had to before, we were caught unprepared.None of this will discourage us from staying again. We understand the employment challenges there on the coast (and everywhere), but when we're paying more for a clean home, we don't expect to work so much ourselves for the standard that we've always had there.
