We are about 6 miles from WISP Resort (10 minutes) and we have plenty of room to hang your ski jackets/apparel inside the foyer.

"Black Eyed Susan" is our three bedroom, two and a half bath cottage in the Paradise Heights area of Deep Creek Lake. The cottage is perfect for groups looking to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Located in the heart of the mid-lake region, our cottage is a short drive to WISP, Arrowhead, Uno’s, Honi Honi, Garrett Cinemas, Castleman’s Cafe, and walking distance to Dutch’s. Those wanting adventure can easily head to Wisp Resort or one of several state parks. For those longing to spend time on the water, Silver Tree Marine is within walking distance. There you’ll find pontoon and speed boat rentals as well as kayak and stand up paddleboards. The shopper in your crew will love the boutiques in McHenry and downtown Oakland.

New as of Summer 2024: we provide a MD State Park pass for your use during your stay. The MD State Park pass allows you (1 vehicle, up to 10 people) free entry to any state park, unlimited boat launching at the park, and 10% discount on all state-operated concessions items.

Firewood is included and available at the house for you to use in the fire pit!

The cottage has plenty of room to spread out without feeling too far away from your crew. The primary bedroom is conveniently located on the ground floor and features a king bed, smart TV, and private bath. Upstairs you’ll find another king bedroom with smart TV. The final bedroom features two queen beds and a smart TV. Those wanting to kick back and relax can enjoy nature views from the deck or the beautiful picture window in the living area. Cooler nights are the perfect time to snuggle up in front of the fireplace or the outdoor firepit. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck with crisp mountain air and a birdsong serenade. The backyard borders a wildlife preserve, giving guests optimum wildlife viewing. The well stocked kitchen is the perfect place to make meals and memories. For the BBQ crew, we offer a gas grill and a fire pit equipped with a cooking grate. The dining room features seating for eight and is the perfect place to play one of the house’s many board or card games. For our younger guests, we provide a portable crib and high chair. Kids young and old will enjoy our retro arcade game system and jumbo “four in a row” game. We have exterior security cameras that are enabled when the house is vacant.

Unlike most of the other properties in the area, we manage our own home and do not add resort fees, surcharges, admin fees, or guest fees.
