The cabin and property felt prepared for us when we arrived. It could have used one more sweep inside however, there were several dead bugs scattered throughout the cabin, especially in the loft. Never saw one alive though! Except a couple stink bugs but they don’t count. :) I was glad we are a close family because the bathroom doesn’t feel very private. The air conditioner in the main space works great but the bedroom gets pretty warm. It’s right next to a highway so we weren’t “tucked away” like I was hoping to be.

Absolutely perfect. Exactly what we were looking for. Best time away we have had in 5 years. Peaceful, beautiful, and away from everything! Hosts were helpful and friendly. We will be back soon!

Directions and entry were easily communicated. WIFI worked great. The precut fire wood by the fire pit was a great feature. The description was pretty accurate didn't feel like they left information out or anything but it is like a shed cabin- very small. But if you are looking for somewhere to sleep near McKee it does the job. It felt a little cluttery- I think less decor items on tables or some sort of organization of shelving could have allowed for more space and/or remove coffee table from middle area because it seemed tight. The outside shower could use a faucet holder so you do not have to shower holding it (and some more lights outside because you have to complete a few steps to turn on the shower so it makes it difficult when dark. Great location to the Daniel Boone Forest- it is literally right next to it and about a 6 minute drive to downtown McKee. Would have liked to see a regular coffee pot instead of kpot(but that was in description) and maybe some cream/sugar packets with the coffee. It was nice that they had some plastic plates/silverware/napkins to use. If you weren't family it would be a little more uncomfortable because the bathroom door doesn't shut all the way and is just the barn door as shown not a regular door.

Nice little cabin, close to so many outdoor activities. We were looking for a private getaway, and we got it. One little issue the first night which was taken care of right away.

Great Woodland Hideaway

We took our dog to avoid 4th of July fireworks. The cabin is in a great location and is well cared for.There was an issue with the A/C that was resolved by the homeowners within minutes. Definitely recommended.

Cute, Comfortable, Cozy

We loved our stay in this cute little cabin! We arrived late both nights and were greeted by the outside lights, main indoor lights, as well as the air condition and fans being left on for us.That was a huge help after dark. The inside of this small cabin is adorably decorated and supplied with different books and games. We are looking forward to exploring these on future trips! Our kids, (8 and 9), thought the loft area and hammock were "way cool". Since there were so many of us, We did use the outdoor shower which was a learning curve for me. I had to get hubby to locate the water turn on in the woods because I was looking for a water hose connector on the cabin. (We really liked this set up and are considering doing similar for our outdoor area at home.) The ceilings for the doors, loft, bathroom and bedroom are low. I am 5'11 and the ceiling is only a couple inches above my head. The bathroom is on the narrow side. Larger people may have a small squeeze to get by the sink to get into the indoor shower, but it wasn't tight. The bathroom does have a sliding door which created a few privacy concerns. We didnt spend a lot of time exploring the light switches, but couldnt figure out where to turn the lights in the living room off at so we just pulled the fan cords. Mom wasnt able to reach these but I could. Overall, we really enjoyed having a place to come "home" to visit with family and are looking forward to future visits to experience the fire pit.

Cozy Cabin

Cozy cabin close to town, perfect location if you are hunting the Daniel Boone national forest or just looking for a getaway home away from home!! Clean environment inside and outside of cabin. Friendly Communication with property owners. They treated us like family!! Highly recommend and we look forward to coming back in the future!!

Nice cabin

Cabin was nice and nearly perfect for what we were looking for. There were a few, sleepy, wasps in the cabin, along with lots of dead (and living) ladybugs, otherwise the cabin was very clean. The kitchenette worked. We wish there was a list of appliances on the listing as we thought there would be a hot plate or something inside. There was a grill on the deck, but it was a bit cold to cook outside in the mornings and at night. Jed, the dog, was great, sweet and friendly boy. Overall would book again if we were going to be in the area.

Not recommended

We did not stay. Infested with ladybugs. On the wall, ceiling , floor, furniture. Piles of dead bugs just swept together and left on the floor. Cabin does not have actual windows, just plexiglass. Property is very close to a busy street. Needless to say, we walked in and out. Contacted the host and she basically said that we are missing out on a quiet weekend. No rhanks. I would not let my dog stay there.

After summer retreat

Our stay was fantastic. It had just enough of the modern conveniences yet rustic, simple and cozy. We would definitely come back. Jed the dog was a great host and good friends by the end of our stay.

Nice quiet getaway

Wonderful experience! Host was amazing! Very helpful and responsive. If you’re looking for an out of the way cabin to relax and refresh this is it. There are a couple waterfalls nearby to check out. The surrounding towns are small but you can get what you need.

Cute cabin.

It was definitely a small rustic cabin but very cute. Bed was comfortable. Living room was comfortable and cute. Small fridge and microwave. No sink other than in bathroom but we made it work. No stove but small counter/bar with stools. Bathroom was fine. Clean with small shower. Good WiFi and nice tv. Outside was in the wood’s which we loved. We were there 3 nights. Host responded great Nice stay.

Eastern Ky getaway

Very peaceful and relaxing stay! The evenings were quiet as we sat around the fire-pit with the moon poking through the trees.We really enjoyed our visits from Jed ( the owner’s sweet dog). The cabin was conveniently located between various locations that we visited-the Gorge Underground, Flat lick Falls, Natural Beidge, Corbin, Cumberland Gap Natl Park and Cumberland Falla! We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Great Getaway

My fiancee and I found this place to be a very cozy stay. We weren't able to explore much through out the day as it rained in the day time. But as it cleared at night, we were able always able to enjoy a nice fire. It is a little closer to the road than I would have preferred, but it isn't a very busy road, especially when night came. Overall, for the price, location, and the quiet nights, we would definitely return for a stay and recommend it to anyone looking for a rather secluded getaway.

Perfect weekend get away

Wife and I decided to get away for the weekend. Wanted to explore the Daniel Boone National Forest area in our Jeep and visit with nearby family. Cabin is exactly as listed. Perfect for the wife and I plus the Dog. Karla and Mike were great but Jeb was the best!! Any information we needed they were able to provide the perfect solutions in a timely manner. Will be staying again and would recommend to anyone looking to explore the area. Much more to explore in that area

Cute little cabin for short people

Lovely property. My friend and I enjoyed the quite. Woods come right up to you. We sat and read alot. Good driving to flat lick falls. The cabin bathroom and bedroom have short ceilings. I am 5ft 4 and could touch them easily, so keep that in mind if you are tall.

Long weekend getaway

The cabin was so quaint and just as described. Met a few of the kindest people. Had the pleasure of speaking with a life long resident of McKee eho told me she is 87 and had just retired from the bank after 65 years, that is amazing. We loved the scenic views snd went on a couple hikes. I would recommend this to friends.

Cute Little Place

Its a cute little place. Perfect for a little getaway. We stayed there 4 nights in November. They had heaters and a wall heater to stay warm. The grill worked great. They have a friendly dog that comes down to visit. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
