As I write this we have been hosting part time for about 6 months, and 1 month from launching our dream home to the short term rental community full time. We’ve been blown away by the response to our home, as we’ve seen bridal parties, a 90th birthday celebration, and even a new baby celebration. We started this journey as a way to help cover the costs of all the rehabs we’ve made to this treasured property since we found it 15 years ago.
I guess it should not come to a surprise to us just how much we love hosting people and trying to make the most relaxing and memorable stays possible for each group, as we’ve spent our lives dedicated to the service of others. In our early adult years we both worked in the service and hospitality industry, before answering the call to serve our country. Dave and I have both spent over 20 years in service to our country, with multiple tours to Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, as well as other locations such as 4 year in Brussels serving with NATO.

As we’ve traveled the world, in recent years we’ve explored short term rental / AirBnB properties. We’ve taken note to the things we loved, and the things we were annoyed by, and have attempted to apply all of our experiences to make the most incredible stay possible for our guests.
First, we are customer service focused. When you stay in our home you are better than family (we might not let family adjust the thermostat lol). Our number 1 goal is for you to feel at home, valued, and pampered during your stay.
Second, we have taken great expense to create the most comfortable sleeping and living arrangements possible. We did not enjoy the cheap sheets and mattresses in some of the AirBnB’s we visited. We certainly aren’t fans of IKEA furniture. While we understand most short term rentals want to maximize profit by providing furnishings with the bare minimum initial cost, we want you to sleep on and enjoy what we sleep on and enjoy. We’ve decided to take the chance that if we furnish our property with high end items our guests will enjoy them and take care of them.

Third, we don’t like being nickel and dimed for things we think should be complimentary when paying above average cost for accommodations. Last year we spent a week at a wonderful AirBnB in Miami. We didn’t understand why the host wouldn’t provide laundry pods so we could do our laundry…we had to go buy a box of pods for just a couple loads of laundry. You will not have that issue when you stay at our property. We try to think of everything you might need while you are with us, and ensure it’s available to you. If you need something we don’t provide, we’ll do all we can (and we can do a lot!) to make sure you are taken care of.
I will end this here though I could go on. Let me just close by thanking you for considering our property. We look forward to the opportunity to host you, your family, and friends.
