Adorable home in a quiet neighborhood just steps from the beach.

This was a beautiful, nicely kept up home with plenty of room indoors and out. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the beach is just down a sandy path near the house. The owner was very sweet and quick to communicate - highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time staying at this house. Our first time to see Lake Michigan and it couldn’t have been better. The house is clean and spacious! Our kids loved playing the board games every evening on the porch and we enjoyed relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My wife, 3 children and I had a wonderful time staying at the Cool Beach House! the beach is just steps from the beach. The neighbourhood is very quiet and not touristic at all. The beach is perfect, with the skyline of Chicago within sight. The owners are very attentive and helpful. Frans, The Netherlands

Walk several feet to beach

So nice to walk out to the beach. Even if it’s just to check out the sunset. We had the whole house to ourselves, filled the refrigerator for our three night stay. Cooked breakfast and a dinner. Marian has pots and pans, plenty of plates for multiple days. Dishwasher was convenient as well. Quiet neighborhood with fantastic neighbors who are so generous (Liz and Jim) we were not lacking a thing.

Warm, inviting stay near a peaceful beach

We visited "Cool Beach House" for the last week of the cool spring season. No swimming (too cold with a strong North wind), but lots of great walks through Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, visits to the nearby beach to watch the white breakers of Lake Michigan, and day trips into Chicago to check out the Museum of Science and Industry and the Field Museum. Ample room for two adults and four kids. Responsive help from Marian when we had questions. Loved this trip to the South Shore.

Perfect location for beach

Primary reason for this location is spending time with our children and one grandchild. This was our four year old granddaughters first experience with a beach. She absolutely loved it. We loved the proximity to the beach! The home had everything we needed, we cooked at home, also grilled. Used the beach chairs, the games when it rained all day Friday. Loved the open concept where we can all be together. Great sitting out front too. There are lots of other sitting areas. Lots of glasses, plates etc. never ran out of anything. Great place.

The property felt as if it is IN the National Park. The areas of the park that require staff were not open, due to the Federal Government Shutdown. Gift Shop, Welcome Center, etc. My 14 year old son and I took a one hour train ride into Chicago via the nearby South Shore Line. This took us directly to Millennium Park where we walked around, visited the park, saw "The Bean" and had a Chicago Dog. The local scene on Lake Street in Miller Beach was great for food, shopping and art. Check out the Miller School Shops & Spaces there on Thursday through Sunday. Great vendor shops.

Fantastic Beach House

We had a great time on our trip. The house was very nice and just across the street from an access path to Lake Michigan. Our host was extremely responsive and accommodating.

Great Value!

We had a great time at this wonderful house. It had everything we needed and then some. Location was absolutely perfect as we could wake up and walk on private path to beach. Neighborhood was quiet and price was spot on!

Great beach cottage

We really enjoyed our time at this beach house! It is located just a sand dune away from the beach, has plenty of parking, a large front deck and a fenced back yard for pets. It was well-stocked with everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. Miriam was a great host and made us feel welcome. We will return, hopefully!

We love this rental!

This is our third year renting a week-long vacation here - it's a great house! Close to the beach trail, our pet is welcome, clean, comfortable and plenty of room! The new front deck is beautiful!

A hidden gem

This beach house is the PERFECT location if you have kids! Close enough to walk to! Perfect fenced in yard, great deck out front. Plenty of beds for the little ones as well as yourself. An get away area for everyone if they need it! We will be back!

The house was a perfect location for our girls family getaway. The three bedrooms two baths were perfect for the six of us. The great room concept is wonderful for cooking and entertaining. We utilized the front deck as well as the backyard. All the necessary amenities are provided. Lots of games and movies beach chairs etc. a perfect cottage for 6. Location, location, location!

We had a great stay at this cottage that is truly steps from the beach. The only problem was that it is listed as a non-smoking house. But it was very smoky-smelling. Otherwise, great house.

Awesome Local Beach Vacation

We had a great experience at this beach house rental! The walk to the beach was extremely easy and the beach itself was great! Watching a beautiful beach sunset every night was a treat, there was also plenty of room on the beach itself to have fun and ‘social distance.’ The house itself worked great for our family to sleep the kids downstairs and use the upstairs after they went to bed, lots of room for a family of 4 to be comfortable for sure!

Happy repeat renter!

This was our 2nd year renting the Cool Beach House and it was just as nice as last year! The house is clean and has plenty of room. Lots of outdoor seating and parking. The beach is so close - the sand path to the beach is just across the street and this year I counted: 160 steps on the sand path and you're on the beach! I was concerned this year that the beach would be really crowded, particularly because a nearby town closed down their beach due to overcrowding. But it was nice - the weekend days were a little busy, as expected, but groups successfully social-distanced and we never felt squeezed. The mornings and evenings were quiet on the beach and we took nice mile-long walks there. The neighborhood is very quiet and family-oriented. Overall, a really relaxing week! Hoping to return next year, as well!

It's close proximity to Chicago. The extraordinary beauty of Lake Michigan steps from our door. Reachable by the South Shore Line (1 hr ride to downtown Chicago). A short drive to the stations (Miller or Ogden Dunes) with free parking at both South Shore stations.

Quiet, the beautiful lakefront, good neighbors. Two yards, shaded front yard in the afternoon.
