This is an opportunity for a beautiful northern Michigan experience in a newly renovated cabin on a privately owned lake with 300 acres to enjoy. Whether you're up for a hike, swim, fishing, reading on a quiet deck or maybe just enjoying time by the fire. The cabin is nicely located for day trips to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes etc.

The pictures do not do this cabin justice. It's a stunning property and so peaceful. It was the perfect blend of "away from it all" and a small town nearby in Fife Lake. This property has its own small lake with access to kayaks and a canoe. We were so thankful that it was also dog friendly. That's a rare find with a home that's also very clean and beautiful. We had everything we needed and enjoyed a fire and the views the entire time. Can't wait to come back. The host, Carole is amazing and easy to communicate with. She also made check in and out very easy. Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful, pet friendly cabin secluded deep in the woods. Close to utv / snowmobile trails. Hosts were excellent to deal with and communication was top shelf! Highly recommend a stay here if you love nature and being outdoors!

We had an amazing time at this incredibly clean cabin! We spent our days fishing and swimming on the lake and using the various boats available. We spotted tons of wildlife while we were there and made use of both the grill and the fire pit. Carole was a fantastic host who communicated with me at the beginning, middle and end of our trip to make sure everything was going smoothly. Besides the breathtaking views and endless fun, the property is filled with a variety of books, magazines, antiques and decor from various times and places making for a truly one of a kind cabin experience!

Peaceful and Relaxing Stay

We stayed for two days and had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was perfect for our family of 3. We really enjoyed touring the lake on the paddle boat. It was a relaxing and peaceful stop on our way to the UP. Carole was great. She was responsive and quickly answered all our questions. We definitely would stay here again.

Stunning Property on Downs Lake

The cabin was super clean upon arrival. We got in just before sunset and the view was exceptional! There's a lot to love about this cabin on a private lake. You can tell there is intention behind each item you'll find. There's an eclectic array of art and antiques, binoculars to nature watch from across the lake. Overall, we loved our stay at the cabin. Being that we came in October, we were just looking for a waterfront property to relax away from home and enjoy nature. With that we spent a lot of time inside watching deer and the leaves fall. That is where our only complaint comes in, nearly all the furniture was uncomfortable to hunker down on for any extended amount of time. As there was only two of us, we only tried the one bed because we didn't want to soil the other bedding. Carloe seems sweet and obviously loves the property! She responded relatively quick to text messages, but would probably answer the phone quickly. Also, compared to some other properties I've stayed at, this one doesn't come with a binder of rules, so the stay felt even more laid back. A couple things to note about the property that I did not remember reading in the description. Most of the furniture is low, if you are tall or have a hard time getting up this may prove a bit difficult. Also, the washer and dryer are through trap doors. I had packed in a way to wash and re-wear clothes. While some may feel comfortable to use it, we didn't want to bother. Overall, we would come back!

Perfect Getaway

My family and I booked this location to escape the city for the weekend with our dogs and it was the perfect getaway. The hosts were lovely, the property was the perfect updated cabin, and the space was away from it all with a perfect night view and trails to wander.

Amazing lake house in the woods

Sont know what to say. Amazing house and property, it was one of the most peaceful getaways we've done in a long time. We were there at peak fall color and it was beautiful. Check in was easy and the owner couldnt be nicer.

Enchanting Lakeside Chalet

We stayed at this charming chalet for 12 days in early fall and were absolutely enchanted. Nestled by the lake on a secluded 300-acre privately-owned property, the chalet offers breathtaking views and endless tranquility. Our dogs had the time of their lives exploring the trails in the surrounding woods. Every part of the day revealed its unique beauty, and on our last night, we were lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights, which illuminated the sky with their mesmerizing colors for hours. It was truly magical. This place is a nature lover's paradise! We are deeply grateful for the warm hospitality and the unfounforgettable experience. experience.

Perfect weekend getaway

Our family loved the mix of old and new at this cabin. Legit log cabin on one side and modern kitchen/bathrooms on the other. The eclectic decorations made it even more fun. We played in the lake, saw some amazing sunsets and even got to see the northern lights just down the street. It was relaxing and quiet which is just what we were looking for.

Definitely a hidden gem!

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin and were very pleased when we arrived. The property grounds were amazing and on a private lake. The pictures do not do this cabin justice! Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for a a weeks stay. Carole is a wonderful host and this is somewhere we would stay again.

Lake getaway!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. It was remote, peaceful, and very clean. All of the amenities were a bonus and exactly as described. The lake is fun and enjoyable! Carole was lovely during our stay and made sure everything was perfect for our family! Would definitely stay here again!

Special getaway!

This is truly a special place. It is a beautiful cabin in the woods! There are so many cooking supplies in the kitchen, and a water softener/tankless water heater, which we loved! Everything has been carefully thought out so that you have everything you need. We had so much fun relaxing with our 2 and 5 year olds. We enjoyed s’mores by the campfire and there are several boats for exploring the lake! I misplaced 2 wedding rings at some point- wanted to let everyone know in case you come across them somewhere at the cabin or on the trail around the property, which is beautiful and fun to explore!

Private, only three properties on the lake which is beautiful and spring fed, great for swimming and ice skating. The cabin has 300 acres to explore, also plenty of space around the cabin for play, sitting around a campfire or reading a book on the deck.
