The Dragonfly Inn was ideal for our family weekend away. The house layout was perfect for us, with comfortable accomodations and plenty of indoor and outdoor lounging options. Access to the lake couldn't have been easier, and we spent considerable time kayaking and swimming. We will definitely return in the future!

Perfect family getaway

This is our 3rd stay at this beautiful lake house and I am about to book 8 more nights in 2026. This home is beautiful inside and out and it’s always spotless. Our whole family enjoyed daily kayak trips and our grandchildren spent a lot of time swimming in the lake. It’s a peaceful area and I especially enjoyed having my coffee on the lovely wrap around porch in the am watching the sun rise. Looking forward to our next stay.

Relaxing Friends vacation

We had a fantastic week with our friends swimming, kayaking and enjoying this spectacular house. The hosts have thought of all the details that make or break a stay: comfy beds and bedding, great furniture, kayaks to use, bikes to ride. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy time with loved ones. Would recommend without hesitation!

Perfect Fall Vacation!

Our stay at the Dragonfly Inn and Resort was absolutely perfect! We had a wonderful time seeing the beautiful fall trees that surround the lake, kayaking, making smores, and spending quality time together. The property is gorgeous and has so much to do including a fun tree house that my son absolutely loved exploring. They truly thought of everything to make your stay perfect. We are already planning on coming back! 10/10 would recommend!

Cassadaga

An absolutely outstanding house. This is our fourth time staying with Rodney and Lisa as the hosts. They are tremendous in every way. Incredibly accommodating, crystal clear communication, and incredibly sweet and nice touches throughout the house. Every time we stay on one of their properties we are amazed. This property specifically is spacious, with beautiful lake access, and tremendous detail throughout. I cannot say enough positive things about this property, and about Rodney and Lisa.

Nothing was overlooked

I don’t think 5 stars even touches how wonderful the Dragonfly Inn is. From the second we puled into the driveway we could tell this place was going to be perfect. Inside and out this home is gorgeous and well appointed! The kayaks and beach were a hit with the kids and adults! I wanted to take the whole site home with me 😀 The owners were super responsive to all communication before, during, and after our trip. The town of Cassadaga had all we needed- pizza, coffee, and ice cream! We’ll be back!

Couldn't have asked for anything more...

Had the most amazing time at this lakeside cottage, and the owners thought of everything to make our stay welcoming and effortless. There is so much to do here, from kayaking/paddle boarding to simply relaxing and taking in the beautiful views. This was a girls weekend for me, however this would be an amazing home for a family trip as well. Just 20 minutes from Chatauqua and the Lake Erie Wine Trail. I absolutely loved the painted rocks placed around the cottage and the property. Such a super cute idea to allow guests to take one home as a memento. I wish I could have stayed longer and would definitely book again!

Great lakeside retreat

We ventured here for our first northern lake vacation. The host was great to communicate with. The house was very clean and well stocked with cooking supplies, grill supplies, throw blankets and plenty of seating for our family to gather together for meals and entertainment. We were also able to find peaceful spots to relax for some alone time as well. The beds were very comfortable. There were nice areas to sit on the deck and read without being in the sunlight. There is a nice table on the deck for eating out as well as a covered picnic table near the grill. Our family enjoyed searching for the painted rocks, kayaking on the lakes, reading outside, S'mores by the dock firepit, and just sitting on the dock watching the kids have fun. There are some stores nearby to get things you need without driving to Fredonia. It was a nice rural setting that was within 15-30 minutes of a larger town with chain stores. If your looking to get away from the hustle of "city life", this is a tranquil place where we found peace and relaxation.

We just got back from a family vacation and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dragonfly Inn. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and Rodney had all the amenities that we could need. He even had a bottle of wine and everything we would need for making s’mores at the fire pit. We had so much fun kayaking, biking, paddle boarding and just making wonderful memories with our kids and grandkids. Sitting by the fire at night and looking up at the infinite number stars was amazing as well. Thank you Rodney for thinking of everything to make our family trip extra special! We will be back!

We’ve stayed at the Dragonfly Inn three times now, and somehow it gets better every time. We’ve also stayed at Rodney’s sister property, The Paddle Inn, which is smaller but just as lovely. This trip was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we needed. We kayaked, took a day trip to the National Comedy Center, and spent time simply enjoying the beauty and quiet of the property. The Dragonfly Inn has become one of our favorite places to return to, and we already plan to make it an annual trip with friends. We truly love this place and cannot recommend it enough!

Acerca de su propietario/a

Propietario/a: Rodney Waite

Imagen de perfil del propietario o de la propietaria
My wife, Lisa, and I have lived in Cassadaga for the past 24 years. Regrettably my wife passed away in April, 2024. I grew up in the Village then spent 11 years in the US Air Force before settling back in Cassadaga. I retired from the US Air Force Reserves in May 2019 and continue to practice as an endodontist in Jamestown. We have always loved the Lakes and enjoy being able to share our beautiful lakeside cottage with our guests.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The Dragonfly Inn is a brand new home with its own private, sandy beach on a secluded wooded lot in an idyllic setting. The three connected Cassadaga Lakes are perfect for all water sports in the summer months, with kayaking, fishing, and swimming being most popular with guests. In the off season, Chautauqua County comes alive with holiday festivals, parades, and craft fairs. A local favorite is the Cassadaga Winter Festival that includes sledding at nearby Cassadaga Country Club, a polar bear swim, and cross country skiing. Walking and biking around the lakes is also a year round favorite for locals and visitors alike. You don't need to leave the village to find delicious dining spots, as well as golfing, and the unique opportunity to visit Lily Dale, the largest spiritualist community in the country. Also, many award winning wineries along Lake Erie are a short drive away.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The Dragonfly Inn boasts an open floor plan with 19 foot ceilings on the main floor, oak flooring, and a spacious loft area/half bath for the kids. The adults will enjoy the privacy of their own separate living spaces. Radiant floor heating provides maximum comfort on cold wintery days while AC keeps the cottage cool in the summer. The view from the decks and lakeside patio is one of peaceful solitude, shared with blue herons, cormorants, king fishers, and of course....dragonflies.
