Historic guesthouse in the heart of Leelanau. Combination of 2 popular suites to accommodate group of 6: 3 bedrooms, 3 beds, 3 full bathrooms. Kitchen; living room with bar sink & fireplace; A/C; Wi-Fi. Wide lawn with firepits & pickleball court, overlooks Lake Michigan. Short walk to village of Omena, easy drive to Northport, Suttons Bay, Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes.

The space
Quaint cottage built in 1895. Two large suites - "Bay View Suite" (1st floor king) and "Leelanau Suite" (2nd floor, 2 queens + sofa-bed) - combined for family or friend group. Three full baths, kitchen on 2nd floor, living room with bar sink and fireplace on 1st floor. Up to 6 adults - can also include a child or 2 depending on ages - please inquire.
Access to laundry and grill upon request.
Patio and wide lawn with outdoor furniture, beautiful view of bay, firepits. Pickleball court.
Short walk to historic Omena: tasting room, restaurant, country store & public beach. Easy drive to Northport, Leland, Suttons Bay, Sleeping Bear Dunes. Many options nearby for great beaches, hiking, biking, golf, SUP & kayaking.
A perfect base for your group's Leelanau adventure! Sunset Lodge was established in 1898, an original Omena "resort". A Michigan State Historic Site and listed with Omena in National Register of Historic Places.
Guest access
Guests have full access to front of house, with keypad locks.
Laundry area available upon request: laundry room may be used by staff between hours of 10am-3pm.
Grounds are open to all guests. Pickleball court, patio and deck, firepits, wide lawn with bay view.
Not included: at rear of house are 2 other suites with separate exterior entrances - no shared spaces or common entrances. If interested in these suites please inquire (Garden Suite & Cottage Suite).
Adjacent Omena Cottage guesthouse has three suites - listed on VRBO.
Other things to note
Staircase to 2nd floor is very narrow, challenging for those with knee problems!
Quiet hours after 10 pm please (no loud music or boisterous socializing).
Kitchen is well equipped except it does not have an oven.

We love hosting our wonderful guests and take pride in 1,000+ 5-star reviews on other platforms. 2024 is first year we've listed our property on VRBO. We enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, and cherish the exceptional natural beauty of Leelanau.

Omena is quiet, serene and peaceful, with quaint charm. The village is listed in National Register of Historic Places, as is Sunset Lodge. It has a long, interesting history and is lovingly supported and preserved by the local community.

Sunset Lodge has great historic character with modern amenities. Each suite is unique. The serenity and peacefulness of Omena is appreciated by our guests especially during peak tourist season. The view of Omena Bay from our lawn is beautiful and there are many outdoor spaces to relax, socialize, have a drink with friends or make a fire in our firepits.
