Loved the stay!

We had an amazing family vacation at the property. Everything was exactly as described and the oceanfront suites were spacious and beautiful. The hosts provided warm Hawaiian hospitality and made our stay unforgettable. We highly recommend this place for a luxurious island stay and a memorable vacation.

This house exceeded our expectations. Every room has the most stunning views. The house was spotless and the high end appliances and finishes were throughout the whole house. If you did not want to leave the house which it was hard for us to do because of how great this house is but we could have just stayed here due to the ocean in the backyard and then the pool onsite. They also had everything we would need to go to the beach…chairs umbrellas to bikes to ride etc. The host was fantastic and available for any questions and responded back quickly. The location is just a few miles down from the popular restaurants and shopping.We have stayed in many rentals and this is by far the best. Definitely will book again.

Beautiful property, very responsive manager including dishwasher replacement and new pots and pans delivered for the induction cook top. Beautiful views and fabulous location, comfortable beds, nice showers. Amazing accordion folding glass doors everywhere.

Beautiful beach side home

The home is beautiful and able to accommodate a large family. So many views of the ocean and the tide pools. We really enjoyed sitting outside and just soaking it in. We didn’t use them but there were lots of water toys for all ages as well as chairs, umbrellas and towels. The owners have really made an effort to accommodate every need you could possibly have. Would happily book again.

Incredible location

My siblings and a few friends chose this beautiful home to celebrate a couple of milestone birthdays. The location and space was truly breathtaking. The pool turned out even nicer than the pictures showed. We encountered a few glitchy issues with the super technical home systems, but they were minimal impact to the stay overall.

The house has absolutely stunning ocean views. Newly remodeled, the interior is also beautiful. No attention to detail missed. Very well stocked, and beach toys/accessories a great bonus. Owner and management both wonderful. Loved that there are completely separate rooms so our family members could each rest/awake leisurely without disturbing one another. Convenient location, would highly recommend!

This beautiful home was even better than expected! It is walking distance to a beach great for snorkeling & a short drive (5-10 minutes) to another beach, restaurants, & a grocery store (KTA). We had our Thanksgiving meal there and had everything needed in the fully stocked kitchen. There were plenty of beach towels, water shoes, snorkel gear, & boogie boards available. And.....the view! That was the best part! This home was great for our family of 7, and we would highly recommend it!

Great stay!

We are a family of 11 (ages 4-76) who stayed here for our family vacation! The house is newly renovated, clean, and the views are amazing! We enjoyed watching the sunset from the balcony almost every evening. The location is great and in close proximity to the Kona Village area as well as target, Walmart, etc. It was very useful having a washer/dryer, which is located downstairs. The kitchen/sitting area and bedrooms upstairs are not connected to each other and each has its own door to the outside balcony area. The stairs are outdoors. Downstairs everything is connected. The hosts are very responsive! We were very happy with our stay! I would highly recommend this rental!

The ultimate oceanfront retreat on the big island!

I recently stayed at Mele Kai and let me tell you, it was AMAZING! The place was really well designed, and the attention to detail was just unreal. With four oceanfront bedrooms and a lovely living space, it was perfect for my family. Everyone loved the ocean views from the bedrooms! The living spaces were sooo comfortable and beautifully decorated with a modern vibe. But honestly, my favorite part of the house was the furnished lanais. We watched the sunrise and sunset while enjoying the ocean breeze. Everything is brand new and the owners didn't hold back on any modern ammenities. It's safe to say we were living our best lives! And the 'Super Hosts' who managed the propert? So warm and hospitable. I can't recommend this place enough. We'll be back again soon, Sona & Ben!

Beautiful and Luxurious Stay

Our two families totaling 10 stayed at this absolutely gorgeous and perfectly located property for 10 days. The 2 story house is truly designed for ocean living. Every room has multiple doors/accordion doors and patios so the Kona breeze and the sounds of the ocean are always present. Everyone in our group would spend our down time sitting on the comfortable cushioned patios chairs watching the schools of yellow tangs and the turtles bob in the waves. There is simple access to the beach just down the bottom patio stairs with smallish sandy areas for sunbathing. And while we didn't experience "lake Kona" waters during most of our stay, the ocean was placid enough for us to snorkel and dive right out of the back of the house (access the ocean at the cut to the right of the house) on a few days. The coral, sea-life, and rock formations were outstanding. Diving behind the house is very similar to the popular 4-mile marker shore diving spot just down the road. We will definitely return if we get the chance.

Perfect Plan B

We were planning to go to Maui but pivoted last minute due to the fires and Mele Kai just happened to be available for our dates - kismet! The house was beautiful, just a few minor maintenance issues that were disclosed ahead of time. Loved the welcome basket and the sunsets were amazing! Hints: The Nespresso makers use Vertuo pods which weren’t available at the nearby grocery (we buy ours online). Great snorkeling just off the house if you can navigate the rocks. Keep doors closed to keep out the critters (it’s Hawaii). Clarifications: 4 en-suite bathrooms, the 5th is off the lower level living area. No tubs just lovely showers (VRBO listing says combo tub/shower). The kitchen and 3 BRs are on the 2nd level (stairs only) which was a slight challenge for our 80-something year old parents but they managed.

Awesome house! Excellent location! 100% recommended!

We loved the location of the house. It is far enough away from the tourist area but still close enough to drive up to the shops and restaurants for a quick meal or shopping trip. The house was well stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. The only thing we really needed to buy was food. Costco and Walmart are 15-20 minutes away. There is also a KTA supermarket right down the street that is much easier to get to. The house is divided in a way that might be good to know about if you are travelling with children. There is no interior stairway access between the upstairs and downstairs. Travelling between the 2 floors requires that you go outside and use the upper and lower main entry doors. At night, you will probably have these doors locked. If I had to list a negative, I’d say that the upstairs bedroom doors were a little awkward. They are full-glass and don’t have any shades or window coverings. There were free-standing mirrors in the bedrooms that could be used to cover the glass for a little privacy at night. It wasn’t really a big deal. Also, get a mask and snorkel. During low tide you can snorkel right outside the house or drive 2 minutes to an awesome beach and swimming area right down the street. Tons of fish! The sunsets and ocean views are outstanding! We even saw a turtle swimming around the rocks one evening. All this only steps away from the house! I would 100% recommend this house!
