Outside you’ll find an extra-large multi-level deck with hot tub, firepit, long paved driveway & flat parking for four vehicles.
And what about your dogs? We understand how much y’all love your dogs. So we are happy to have one or two well-behaved dogs stay with you at The Owl Barn.
The Owl Barn has more than 150 five-star reviews over all our listing sites. The #1 comment our guests share is the fantastic décor in every room. The Owl Barn is not your average cabin in the Smokies. Lots of owls decorate the whole house bringing loads of enjoyment to young and old. (Those young ones try to count all the owls. I think it’s impossible!)
THE OWL BARN MAIN LEVEL FEATURES
The fireside living room has a gas fireplace with large TV—perfect for everyone to gather.
The full-sized kitchen with coffee bar has plenty of room for many cooks to help. Many guests comment they appreciate the labels on the drawers and cabinet doors so they know where to find each kitchen item. There’s a Ninja blender, crockpot, toaster, tea kettle, lots of sharp knives, dishware, glasses, silverware, storage bowls and zip bags, hand mixer, cleaning products, salt, pepper, flour, sugar, oil and some spices, BBQ tools, pots and pans, etc. The separate dining room has a large dining table that seats eight.
The spacious primary bedroom ensuite has a comfy king bed and TV. And yes, the primary bathroom hosts a two-person copper tub and a 6’x6’ walk-in shower with three shower heads. Very luxurious. (Check out the photos.)
The primary walk-in closet stores the box fan, queen size air mattress, two highchairs, booster seat, Pak & Play, baby bed plus crib sheets and blankets. We try to provide the essential baby things to make your stay effortless.
The most fun space on the main level is the outhouse half bath. We ripped off the old weathered boards from the 40 year-old the shed out back and lined the walls in the outhouse. The custom sink is crafted from a wine barrel plus there’s a giant caulk board for guests to leave messages and children to create art. A big hit with all our guests.

THE OWL BARN OUTDOOR SPACES
Lights in the trees twinkle above the huge deck making this space magical. It has plenty of room to share meals, swap tall tales, and toss beanbags while playing the cornhole game or relaxing in the large hot tub. The propane BBQ grill is right outside the dining room sliding glass door for your convenience. And of course there is plenty of Adirondack chairs to chill out and enjoy the mountain views. The firepit is circled with wooden Adirondack chairs so everyone is comfy while spending time around the campfire. (Check out photos of the deck and firepit.)
THE OWL BARN LOWER WALK-OUT LEVEL
The best part is the big game room with sliding glass doors to let in plenty of light and mountain views. Here y’all can play the arcade machine, sliding shuffleboard table, multi-purpose game table that converts to a poker table and bumper pool. Dozens of games are stocked here along with an old-fashioned record player. (Yes, I’m going to recommend you check out the photos!)
Another king bed is found in the Nature Room. And it has a remote to the motorized adjustment base to raise and lower the head and/or foot of the bed. Everyone loves this feature while watching TV or reading in bed. The walls feature old time snapshots taken in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and The Smoky Mountain National Park. Yes, folks actually fed the bears!
The queen bed is in the third bedroom we named the Bird Room though most call it the Shutter Room. The ceiling is covered in old shutters painted in an array of colors. This is a super fun space to watch TV and sleep.
And the roomy bathroom has 3 rustic white-washed shiplap walls and cedar boards on the fourth. (The cedar was taken from the original closets and repurposed.) There’s an old clawfoot tub to soak in plus a separate tiled shower. A very quaint room.
Our guests appreciate a separate laundry room with a washer and dryer with laundry soap and dryer sheets provided. It’s nice to be able to close the door to the laundry room to keep the rest of the house quiet.
Although The Owl Barn is not handicap accessible, we have kept folks with limited mobility in mind. There are wide French doors to the primary bedroom and the primary bathroom. The toilet is handicap height with a wide pocket door into this space. There’s a step over threshold into the large walk-in shower with a bench to sit on. There are five steps up to the deck from the parking area and a few steps to reach all deck levels. If a guest can climb a few steps here and there the primary bedroom might help during your stay.
