The Urban Barn! private parking

Our place is a 10 minute drive to I-35/Ames. Restaurants & a park are within walking distance. This space is a flat above a detached garage and has a lovely, rustic charm and is separate from the main house. The living room has a pull-out couch, increasing guest size from 4 up to 6. The space includes a mini fridge, microwave, Keurig, smart TV, Wi-Fi, dining area and an outdoor grill.
This is not handicap accessible as it requires going up one flight of stairs.
Quiet & peaceful neighborhood!

Great place to stay!

Really nice property with great hosts. Had an ice storm during my stay and they made sure that the walkways were safe. I would/will stay here again.

This was a great place to stay. It was easy to find and the decor was beautiful. We were there for a long weekend and loved it.

Great communication from host & directions were clear. The place itself is very comfortable & clean. I personally slept really well. Little to no noise. 5 minute walk takes you to the downtown where there are a couple of bakeries for am & a few dining places for the evening. 15 minute drive to Ames. I recommend this place.

Great stay at the Urban barn

We really loved the barn and how things were designed and decorated, it was very comfortable and cozy. Having a backyard with seating and a grill really came in handy as well! We highly recommend and plan on booking in the future when we come back to the area. The hosts were excellent and communicated right away.

Cozy, comfy stay!

This cute converted garage apartment was just perfect for my mother and me during our fall Iowa trip! When we had a little glitch with the heating unit, the owners were extremely responsive and helpful to make it nice and cozy for us. Would stay here again!

Enjoyed this cute, super clean place. 15 minutes out from ISU, which was ideal on game day. Owner was quick to respond and so accommodating. Highly recommend!

The space was clean an well-decorated. The couch was very comfortable for lounging at the end of the day and for morning coffee. There was a dedicated parking space steps from the door. Coffee and creamer provided by the owners was a nice touch The room is located on the second floor and the stairs to the unit are fairly steep. This was not an issue for me, but my husband with back/leg pain and balance issues had to be very careful going up and down. This is not a reason to avoid staying there but something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. We both said we would stay again if we were going to be in the area.

The facilities were wonderful, inviting, and immaculate! The owners were welcoming and truly friendly while also professional. The clincher for me was that the unit was only a couple blocks from my childhood home ❤️.

Great place to stay when visiting son at Iowa State

We recently stayed at this cozy abode that was full if rustic farm house charm. We picked this location because it was close enough to get to Ames in 17 minutes. We were greated with a welcome sign and goodie basket with snacks and water. Overall stay was comfortable the rise of stairs are really steep and treads small which could be a safety concern for someone with mobility issues. We really enjoyed our stay.

Just a funky and quirky little place!

Loved it. Garage and neighborhood is sweet midwestern unassuming find. Garage is usual workspace. Then up the stairs to a cute little barn themed bungalow. Quiet and perfect. Coffee maker, toaster oven, even a mini fridge. Easy check in even late night. Enjoyed the accomodations! Great hosts.

Iowa State Grad weekend get away.

Lovely and cozy inside. Loved it. Little touches of thoughtfulness and easy to relax in. Stairs are a little steep and a little scary. Would be a great idea to give a little more explanation on where ally is, the number pad is touch sensitive and that you enter through the garage. Just mentioning that for future visitors.

10 minutes from ISU sports complex. Beautiful cabin style with all modern amenities in small town. Great stay when going to games or events at Iowa State. Clean and well stocked. Host was quick to help us. Only caution is the stairs are quite steep.
