Magical Creature Caretaker Cabin

Embrace your inner wizard!!
Whether you're looking for a secluded getaway or a place to relax after sightseeing in nearby Chattanooga, Tennessee, this magical hut has everything you need.

The Space:
This cozy tiny home is under 290 square feet inside and styled with a modern take on our favorite magical groundskeeper's hut.

As a tiny home, the interior space is small, but well utilized. The bedroom and bathroom are in the back of the home. There is one queen sized bed perfect for up to two guests. The bathroom is next to the bedroom and has a small walk-in shower and toilet area. The kitchen and living area are located in the front of the home. The kitchen amenities include a small stove top, small fridge with freezer, microwave, and coffee maker. In the living area, enjoy the electric fireplace or smart TV where you are free to log into any streaming services you have. For your safety, please do not disturb any mandrakes or bowtruckles who share the living space.

The outdoor amenities abound with a large 175 square foot porch. The porch has an outdoor kitchen area with a grill with a pizza oven, two eye stove top and wet bar to concoct any magical potions. Additionally, the porch boasts an outdoor shower. Step off the porch to enjoy the fire pit area. At night, you may be able to hear some of the frogs that have retired from a famous wizarding school's Frog Choir.

Guest Access:
You will have the entire tiny home and outdoor spaces to yourself to enjoy. The entire property is approximately 3 acres within a fenced border and you are welcome to utilize any of this space during your stay. Feel free to take a morning walk through the field or enjoy the two small ponds and all the creatures that live there. There is no swimming so as to not disturb the grindylows in the top pond and the giant squid in the lower pond.

We live in the house to the left of the driveway as you enter the property and will be available if you need anything during your stay.

Other Things to Note:
If you are looking to site-see, we are located within 25 miles of sites such as the Tennessee Aquarium, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Chattanooga Zoo, and Creative Discovery Museum.

We are located approximately 20 miles from downtown Chattanooga where you'll find tons of amazing restaurants. Please note that you'll want to plan on eating out or utilizing the indoor or outdoor kitchen spaces during your stay as the Magical Creatures Caretaker Hut is not within the range of delivery locations.

I do a scavenger hunt every year for our anniversary and I gotta say we had one of the best weekends we have ever had by ending it here. Everything is carefully and thoroughly thought out. It’s a very therapeutic locale. I asked the David and Tonya to help me out in a pinch last second and they didn’t hesitate. I can’t say enough good things. Our favorite moment was nestled up by the fire making s’mores and reading our devotional.

This is now our favorite place for a weekend getaway. Super clean, everything set up for easy access, instructions as well, even though I still burnt one half of the pizza lol, very private and still super close to Chattanooga. This cabin will be a destination again in the future. Also loved all the creatures and Harry Potter accents found all over the cabin and property. Such a wonderful, whimsical, storybook stay! The cottage was so cozy and clean. It was well stocked with all we needed for a couple day stay (including a toothbrush since I forgot mine at our last Vrbo), and we made use of most of the amenities - such making a pizza in the pizza oven, having a bonfire, and taking inventory of all the creatures! It is so close to attractions, we were able to fill our days with adventure and still didn’t see everything. The hosts are wonderful and the property is immaculately maintained. Can’t have wished for a better experience for my 38th birthday trip!

Great place, beautiful area. Very clean and extremely unique. We loved it. Rated 3 for neighborhood only because of the barking dogs late in the evening and the neighbor working on a loud car. But, would we go back... absolutely!

We enjoyed our visit very much. The cabin was the perfect size for 2. I was so happy to see all the touches relating to our favorite wizards. Check-in and check-out was so simple. I recommend staying at this great Cabin.

The cabin was perfect for a couples getaway. It is completely private and surrounded by beautiful grounds and nice outdoor kitchen and fire pit. Good location for activities in the Chattanooga area And the hosts are very responsive and had great communication with us. We would definitely stay there again.

From the moment I arrived, I knew it would be a treat.The proprietors have decorated the cabin with such meticulous care, it felt like stepping into Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Every detail, from shimmering faux-dragon scales to tiny, glowing pixies, elevated the experience. These minor details make it truly magical, and one could spend hours admiring them.The instructions were as clear as a polished crystal ball, ensuring a smooth, worry-free stay. This clarity meant more time for revelry.The cabin itself was wonderfully cozy, a haven of warmth and comfort, perfect for unwinding. The crackling hearth and plush armchairs created an atmosphere of blissful relaxation. Dreamy!

You usually prepare yourself for the photos to be nicer than reality, but this place is absolutely gorgeous. The cabin is so thoughtfully decorated, cosy and perfectly appointed. The outdoor space puts you into relaxation mode as soon as you arrive. Great balance of the safety of being close to a home, but with a feeling of privacy also. I would have stayed longer if I could!

Perfect whimsical overnight!

If you’re looking for a relaxing place

The Caretakers Cabin is so cute! It’s a perfect getaway for 1-2 people. It has a very relaxing atmosphere. I booked this location for a writers retreat. I was able to get a great deal of writing done as well as some much needed relaxation.

Lovely Weekend Getaway!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the “Magical Creature Caretaker Cabin” for a long weekend in early Spring 2025 and had a wonderful time! The property was immaculate and looked just like the images online. We enjoyed relaxing on the hammock and sipping coffee by the fire pit in the morning (and wine late into the evening ). The hosts provided a nice selection of snacks and toiletries, which we used. The location of the cabin was very convenient as we were only a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Chattanooga and the attractions we visited (Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain).The Harry Potter theme, both inside and out was so cute with lots of hidden Easter eggs and decorations (dragon eggs, owls, magic potions, and of course the monster book of monsters!) but it didn’t detract from the function and livability of the cabin. The indoor shower had excellent water pressure and was able to get pretty hot, which my girlfriend appreciated.The hosts, David and Tonya, were very helpful, providing clear instructions on how to access the cabin as well as other helpful tips. We ran out of fire starter after our first night, and they promptly re-supplied us with a new one the very next day. My girlfriend and I had such a great time! We’ve already told all our friends and family and highly recommend to anyone!

The Perfect Magical Hideaway

We loved staying here so much! While small it felt cozy rather than cramped while still having all the necessities. Stronger internet would have been great but it worked well enough. The water stayed hot wayyyyy longer than we were expecting which was great, and we loved the outdoor shower!

Weekend away

Directions to the property were great. The decorations were so good and the extra touches made it a great getaway. There was a slight hiccup with the code but was very quickly resolved we would defintely stay again.

There are several state parks close by, mountain biking trails loads of activities for adrenaline junkies! Go skydiving at Chattanooga Skydiving or hang glide from Lookout Mountain Flight Park.
