The Sheriff's Jail cabin was clean, current, clever and beautiful decorations.

Beautiful property and set up. Even though it was close to a major road we only heard car traffic in the mornings. Loved the decor and the cabin was clean, with current appliances and amenities. Decor was perfect! Well kept vintage and antiques displayed, beautiful artwork, comfortable couch, bed, and kitchen. Loved the clever jail bars and door. Would definitely refer to others and stay again.

Best overnight stay in the clink!

Our stay at the Sheriff's Jail was extremely comfy, quiet and quirky. One of a kind accommodations in such a fun Western themed setting and so close to fabulous kayaking and the scenic wonders of our great state. We greatly enjoyed our time at Fort Williamson and wouldn't hesitate to go behind bars again. Thanks for everything!

Such A Fun Stay

I got to spend my birthday in jail and it was the most comfortable stay I had in the glacier area. The jail cabin has everything you need, including a bidet. I really loved the full service you get from Jennifer. We were able to rent a comfortable car from her at a good rate. She even provided us with bear spray. When our trip was over, she drove us to the Amtrak station to catch our train. I love this place and would love to stay in all of the cottages in this western town!

Ft. Williamson is an ideal location for your home base as you explore the beauty of Glacier National Park. Each building is clean, beautifully decorated according to theme, and well-appointed with everything you need for a pleasant stay! Jennifer and Robert are helpful and welcoming, providing a wealth of useful information about the area, activities and tours, and places to eat weeks before you arrive. We would stay here again and would highly recommend Ft. Williamson to anyone who plans to visit this area!

Gateway to Glacier!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Fort Williamson. The Sherrif-Jail was a perfect spot for us to use as base camp to Glacier and also come back to and relax. Very comfortable and Robert and Jenni were awesome hosts and very helpful. The location is perfect to get an early start into GNP being only 15min away. Next time we plan a trip out that way we will for sure have this place at the top of the list.

Great Stay!!!!

We have stayed at Ft. Williamson several times over the past few years while visiting Glacier and have never been disappointed! The cabins are all themed as a western town and are so comfortable and nicely and tastefully decorated according to their theme. They are also spotless as well and It’s obvious that Robert and Jennifer have paid attention to every little detail as well, even providing providing bear spray and nightly bonfires out front. They are wonderful hosts. We will definitely be staying at Fort Williamson the next time we are in Glacier!

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time at Fort Williamson's Sheriff Jail! The place itself was immaculate and had plenty of essentials for cooking and grilling. The location was convenient as it was close to activities both inside and outside Glacier National Park. The owners were very friendly and accommodating as well. We would highly recommend Fort Williamson Glacier Vacation Rentals for anyone who is visiting the area.

My husband and I enjoyed the jail. It was in the perfect location to get to everywhere we wanted to go. The hosts were so thoughtful with having small things available if we forgot.

Clean and Well Stocked Cabin

Full kitchen was well stocked and clean. Bathroom was large and bed was comfortable. Owners sent a great list of restaurants and things to do. The jail motif was cool. Close to Glacier entrance and whitefish.

Pleasant Stay

We just stayed for an overnight but it was nice to walk around the property before dark and chat with Jen while petting the dogs. The room was comfortable and quirky in its own little way. Close to a couple of towns as far as dinner and breakfast opportunities. Easy drive up to Glacier National Park. Overall it was a very nice visit.

Creative stay

If staying in West Glacier, choose Fort Williamson location. A western town with beautiful and updated accommodations. Very Clean and the place has every necessity! Comfortable kind bed, clean bathroom and the Jail House location had everything we needed for our Glacier visit. Good restaurants in Columbia Falls 5 minutes away. And 15 minutes to Apghar Visitor Center and 30 minutes to Lake MCDonald. The property hosts were so helpful and nice also! Book your stay today!

Glacier National Park

We truly enjoyed our stay at Fort Williamson Sheriff Jail. Location to Glacier National Park was great. Short drive to the west entrance. It was a longer drive to the east entrance through a very scenic mountain pass. The Sheriff Jail has a very homey feel. We cooked breakfasts and dinners each day and had everything we needed for cooking indoors and outdoors. We used the fire pit and outdoor grill several times and enjoyed meeting the hosts and other guests around the fire. The hosts provided the fire wood and started the fire for us. Jennifer and Robert were very accommodating to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for. We would stay here again if we return tot he area.

Best place we have ever stayed!

Wow the old west town is awesome. Our “Jail” cabin was so unique. The attention to detail in each cabin is amazing. You can tell this is the hosts labor of love. Both hosts were very nice, readily available and happy to answer questions. The cabin was close to West Glacier and a reasonable drive to East Glacier and Flathead lake. This was the nicest place we have stayed.

Weekend Getaway

This place lived up to the listed and the pictures. It was a great place to stay and cozy home away from home with a theme. Love the theme of the place and definitely want to check out the other listings Fort Williamson has. The host was great in the communication and easy to work with. The check in and check out process was great. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a place close to Glacier National Park.

The sheriff's jail

Came down from northern Canada and was frozen to the Bone last week. Check in process was incredibly smooth thanks to the emails received from Jennifer. I was pleasantly greeted by her and her lovely dogs and was incredibly impressed with the layout of the area as well as the individual cottage/jail. Would highly recommend the jail as well as the other cabins which have various amenities. I will definitely be booking with them again as I travel through Montana on my next motorcycle trip.

AMAZING!!!!

Our stay was so wonderful. Everything we clean comfortable and peaceful! It was not hard to find and was in a prime location to go to Glacier National Park, White Fish, etc. The owners were friendly with lots of suggestions of places to see and good restaurants. A Great place to stay!!!

This Old Western Town lodging was a gold mine of a find !

Gracious Hosts: If ever going to jail may it be Fort Williamson’s as it was evident that a lot of thought and time went into this relaxing, clean, comfortable, well stocked with amenities location. From the time of booking thru our actual stay Robert and Jennifer were upfront, courteous and kind which made our trip thoroughly enjoyable. The old western town flare of their lodging options is outstanding as well as their decor!

We are a friendly couple that loves to Host. We originally stumbled into Hosting because of a loft we had above our garage. Well that loft ended up being a hit so we added 2 more additional spaces for guests to rent at that property. As Hosting continued to grow on us over the years, we decided it was time to expand. In May of 2019 we broke ground to begin the building of Fort Williamson Glacier Vacation Rentals. We completed building by June of 2020 and were able to open our doors to begin accepting guests. Fort Williamson Glacier Vacation Rentals offers unique tiny home cabin lodging in the setting of an "Old West Town". The different themed units are a Sheriff 's Jail, Roses Place, Joe's Saloon, Madam Woman's Inn, and Kim's Trading Post. Each of these cabins are uniquely decorated with antiques to reflect the true theme of the cabins. In Jan 2024 we again made plans to expand and set out on that mission to build on our 33 acre Columbia Mountain mountain side property across the highway from Fort Williamson. By Jan 2025 we completed the building of Chug A Lug Springs, our new home with a rental apartment above the garage right at the base of Columbia Mountain. Chug A Lug Springs is a family friendly space so with Fort Williamson and Chug A Lug Springs being close to each other, about 1/4 mile apart, makes it convenient for larger groups to book seperate lodging close to each other. Both of our properties are conveniently located along US Hwy 2 between Columbia Falls, Montana and Glacier National Park. The Park’s west entrance is only 15 minutes away. The Glacier International Airport is only 15 minutes away. The town of Columbia Falls, that has everything you will need is only minutes away. Downtown Whitefish is about 20 minutes away.

Our Cabins are clean and comfortable with fully stocked kitchens. The atmosphere at Fort Williamson is simply awesome. We have a Fantastic Central Location as our properties are conveniently located right along US Hwy 2 between Columbia Falls, Montana and Glacier National Park. The Park’s west entrance and west Glacier Amtrak station is only 15 minutes away. The Glacier International Airport is only 15 minutes away. The town of Columbia Falls, that has everything you will need is just minutes away. Additionally we are attenuative onsite hosts which is very rare to find these days. We are always nearby or onsite just in case something is needed.
