Barn Stay at Hanover Vineyards

Get away from it all when you stay in the rustic barn apartment on a beautiful 32 acre goat farm and future winery(hopefully opening Spring 2024). Take time to discover our farm including charming pond, walking trails where you will be able to view local wildlife, and a barn full of goats, chickens, and ducks. Soon you will be able to visit our winery on the farm ! Apartment has one bedroom with 2 full beds. The living room with a pool table, reclining sofa, and Roku TV. Spend time soaking in the jetted bathtub in our large full bathroom. Pete, our very friendly Great Pyrenees dog, lives on the property to protect the animals.

We are located near many beautiful Eastern CT wedding venues including:
Wrights Mill -14 miles
Cedarbrook Barn - 6 miles
The Overlook at Geer Tree Farm - 9 miles
Stone Hurst at Hampton Valley - 11 miles
Maple Lane Farms - 13 miles

We are conveniently located close to I-395 and Rt. 2. This puts you in the heart of Eastern Connecticut close to several wineries, spas, golf course, seasonal farmers markets and locally owned businesses.

We are also conveniently located about 40 minutes from the Connecticut shoreline, Mystic attractions, and both the University of Connecticut and Eastern Connecticut State University. We are about 20 minutes from both Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos and Newport RI is a scenic one hour drive.

This home is located on the same property as a future farm winery which may be open during your stay. Guests of the winery will not be near the house, however they will be on the hill/barn tasting room. The driveway is shared between the house and the winery.
There is also a second short term rental on the property. Please look for Hanover Vineyards if you are interested in renting both homes.

We rented the barn so we could add to the family already staying in the house. My son and his teen daughters were happy with the spaced and it was convenient to pop over to the house whenever they wanted. Feeding the goats was a highlight for them, as was hanging out on the dock at the pond.

Magical stay at the Barn!

We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!!! My kids loved feeding the goats and spending time with the two lovely dogs that live on the property. The barn itself was charming and rustic with all of the amenities we needed to be comfortable. For future travelers, make sure to bring your groceries with you as there’s not places nearby or easily accessible to shop, but that’s part of the charm in coming here! Megin and her boys were warm and welcoming and told us about some fun places to go nearby like River Park. Overall, it was a memorable fabulous stay

Quiet country get-away

Enjoyed the New England rustic charm of the barn apartment on the hillside. Everything one needed was supplied. Even has a nice outdoor setting with gas fire ring and stove.

Great stay in every way!

This rental was in a beautiful quiet location. The barn apartment was fun and so comfortable and spotlessly clean. They supplied everything we needed plus some pretty fresh flowers and candy (which I loved). We forgot there was a pool table so that was a fun surprise!

Peaceful getaway

The Barn Stay is a wonderful place, ideal for two people. It is very clean and comfortable and is beautifully decorated. We were able to visit trails, wineries, RI, and Stonington as well as attend a WNBA game at nearby Mohegan Sun Arena. And each day we were very happy to return to the barn to relax (especially love the outside patio!). We look forward to returning and hope to explore the land and hope the winery is open.

Amazing !!

We stayed for the weekend with our two kids! the barn was clean and quiet and Megin and Woody were attentive and so friendly. my son loved going with Woody to feed the goats and he got to hold the chickens and ducks! The property is just so cute and great for an escape from the hustle of bustle of everyday life! We can’t wait to stay there again!! Thank you Megin and Woody!!!!

Tranquility at its finest

We absolutely loved our peace filled stay here. We truly enjoyed being welcomed so warmly, literally, by a cozy wood fire going in the woodstove and such special touches added just to our living quarters to make us feel welcomed. Pyrenees ‘ Pete’ was our daily guide when we would walk to visit the Goats, Ducks, Turkey in the pasture/barn area. We took several walks on the lovely grounds and seeing the pond nestled in the woods. The foliage was lovely during our stay and the beautiful home and barn just added to our experience. Our Hosts were wonderful! So blessed by our stay here.

Quiet time in the country

This is a great place to stay that is quiet, yet only minutes away from night life. The property a great place to walk around and relax. Even though it was not cold, it was rainy and damp out. The owner owner made sure the wood stove was going when I arrived and I had dry firewood for my needs. With TV and Wi-Fi available, I instead enjoyed the quiet time to sit back and catch up on some reading. My wife and I stayed here on a previous weekend and loved the place that is away from the hustle and bustle of hotel where we could sit back and relax. We will be back!

Beautiful Property and Rental

We had a wonderful time staying at this rental. We traveled up from PA to CT to see our favorite band Shinedown perform the last show of their current tour, performing at the Foxwoods Casino. This rental has everything you would need and is well thought out. Kitchen was well equipped, etc. When we arrived there was a fire going in the wood stove and the place was nice and toasty. The hosts Megin and Woody are very friendly, responsive, and accommodating. You can tell that they really enjoy what they are doing and want to make sure you have the best experience possible. We only had a small issue with our water pressure on the 3rd day, but Woody was very responsive and immediately resolved the issue. We loved being able to help feed the goats one morning. It was a lovely property, I just wish we would have had more time to do some hiking around and to go see their pond, but I had an old knee injury that was brewing that limited me from doing this. We would definitely recommend this property if you are in the area. You are minutes away from both Casinos, the coast, and there are plenty of stores around should you need something.

A Wonderful, Quiet Location

We loved our autumn trip to the Barn! A cute and comfortable little place with a deceiving amount of room. The location is beautiful and rustic. Postcard perfect. The owners were good communicators and great to meet and chat with on our first day. Checking in was a breeze. We were immediately met by Pete, the Great Pyrenees. This gentle giant came with us on our walk to look around the farm and adjoining woods. Other animals included goats, ducks and cats. One of the cats always seemed to sunning on the fire pit when we weren’t using it. This property is close by some great hiking trails and an easy drive to both casinos. We hiked the Sprague Land Preserve one day and took in a comedy show at a casino another day. Given the location is pretty rural, there were no sit-down dinner options nearby. Not a big deal, if you are ready to make food yourself. There also didn’t seem to be a supermarket nearby so we planned a stop at one on our way. Again, no big deal. Highly recommend this property and its owners and hope to be back. Maybe the vineyard will be running by then!

This is the second time we have stayed here and we will definitely return. We have used this as our base to attend Connecticut Sun games at Mohegan Sun Arena and to visit Storrs. We enjoyed sitting outside sipping wine in the evening. Megin was very helpful and responsive.
