Serenity Cottage is more than just a name—it’s a dream brought to life. This home is built on land where soldiers once fought during the Civil War between the North and South. It’s even possible to find old gun shells in the backyard—a quiet, humbling reminder of the area’s deep history. I envisioned turning this land into a place of peace, healing, and beauty, which is why I named it Serenity Cottage.

Today, this cozy and inviting home offers a tranquil escape just 0.4 miles from the heart of Downtown Franklin. Enjoy a scenic walk to explore charming coffee shops, delicious local restaurants, and one-of-a-kind boutiques. Whether you're here for the rich history, Main Street festivals, live music, or antique shopping, Serenity Cottage is the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure.

The Space:
Welcome to our charming 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with an additional den that features a large workspace desk and a full-size daybed—perfect for comfortably hosting up to 5 guests. Both bedrooms are outfitted with luxurious California King beds, and every room includes a TV for your entertainment. The living area also features a beautiful fireplace, creating a cozy space to relax and unwind.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by freshly redone landscaping and a welcoming front porch—ideal for sipping your morning coffee and soaking in the neighborhood charm.

Inside, the open-concept kitchen offers a warm and inviting space to cook, entertain, and gather with friends or family. It comes fully equipped with everything you need for your culinary plans!

This cottage is beautiful and immaculately clean. In a very quiet neighborhood. It was just a 4 minute drive into downtown Franklin. Had it been cooler, we would've walked. It would only be about 20mins walk into downtown. Gorgeous and well maintained historic district. So many amenities nearby, history, whiskey and music everywhere. Owner was so kind in communicating when we asked questions. Would recommend, will book again.

Very nice and close to town and civil war sites

Cozy cottage with modern aminities. Kitchen was well stocked and owner was very nice and available if you need anything. Close to wverything that you would go to Franklin to do! Would recommend highly.

Great stay in Franklin

Georgia is a great host with quick communication. Her home in Franklin felt like just that a Home. There was everything we needed plus more. Quick drive to downtown Franklin and the great local coffee shops. Comfortable bed and charming house. Great work area as well if you are trying to work remotely.

Nice Prop with a few needed tweaks

The Prop was nice she needs to change the Coffee maker as it did not work well go to a Keurig much better tasting and efficient. We didnt have enough Papertowls and toilet paper and had to buy more. The stove oven didnt work and only one burner worked that needs to be resolved. Thanks James

CUTEST cottage/house in Tennessee!!! PERFECTION

My husband and I were in the Nashville area for a week and Serenity Cottage fit our needs perfectly. It was super cute online and I was worried it wouldn't be as cute in person. I was so wrong. It's even prettier in person!! Georgia, the owner, has spent her time and talent curating every detail from the artwork to the dishes. She was a pleasure to work with and was easy to communicate with. If I ever go back to Nashville for a long term stay I will definitely stay again and I would highly recommend this lovely home to anyone who is looking for a modern, yet cute and charming getaway. I kept saying over and over again - how charming this house was and felt blessed that it was available during our time in Nashville. Don't hesitate to rent this home. You will not be sorry. It is a GEM of a house!!!!!

Beautiful Home!

Spent a long weekend with a couple girlfriends and this house was absolutely wonderful! Extremely clean, comfortable beds and the kitchen had all the amenities! Georgia was a great host and easy to communicate with! Would def stay again!

Georgia, the owner, was a great communicator! Cottage was adorable. Loved the kitchen. Location was perfect as it was between downtown and where the nearest Kroger was. Spent three nights enjoying the restaurants and shopping.

Perfect getaway

My husband and I traveled with another couple for a little getaway and Franklin did not disappoint. The house was even better than pictured, my girlfriend and I love interior design and loved every little detail of this charming home. Location was very convenient to historic downtown, groceries and a short drive to Leipers Fork and Nashville. The neighborhood was very quiet and we even had people walking by welcoming us to the area. Georgia and her assistant were quick to respond to any questions and our stay was absolutely perfect. We loved this area, beautiful town with great people. We would definitely return and would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Cottage!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful cottage, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the charming exterior and the serene surroundings. Lesson Learned

The owner of this property lacks integrity and her word means nothing: The property is charming looking inside and out with lovely looking decor. I was especially taken with the beautiful Mother Mary sculpture art with praying hands hanging in the kitchen. For me it denoted a person with virtue and a clean conscience likely owns this house. That was apparently a false assumption on my part. Upon entering the house I was overwhelmed by a wall of artificial perfume air freshener. This chemical smell triggered an allergic reaction that caused my tongue to begin to swell in this house. I could not stay inside. I called the owner to tell her my situation. She was kind sounding, seemingly understanding and maybe briefly felt some compassion for me. She seemed unaware that many people have some level of intolerance or allergy to the toxins in artificial chemical smells. I asked her for a refund and she verbally agreed to fully refund my money. With my phone on speaker my father stood next to me and heard the agreement also. I was very appreciative and thanked her for her generosity and understanding. It was a great relief that I could move to another place that wasn’t going to cause anaphylaxis. After my trip I corresponded with the owner. She was initially pleasant during our interactions. Before resolution she decided to cease all communication with me and ignore my messages. When contacted VRBO put the onus for the refund on owner.

I originally grew up in Mississippi, but I moved to Southern California in 1999, where I spent many years building my career and raising my family. Life brought me back closer to home during COVID when I relocated to Franklin, Tennessee. My goal was to be near my family, who still live in Mississippi, and Franklin turned out to be the perfect place to start a new chapter after going through a difficult divorce.

One of my greatest joys is creating beautiful, welcoming spaces. I’ve run my own business for over 25 years, and outside of work, you’ll usually find me cooking, designing, or gardening—anything creative that brings a sense of comfort and beauty to life. Hosting on VRBO is a natural extension of that. I love opening my doors and sharing the homes I’ve thoughtfully designed, so others can relax, connect, and enjoy.

I chose Battle Avenue because it’s one of the most beautiful, peaceful, and historic streets in the area. This neighborhood was actually a site where the North and South fought during the Civil War, and you can truly feel the weight of history here—especially when the breeze moves through the tall, lush old trees. Sometimes it feels like the past is quietly telling its story.

What I love most is how safe and walkable the neighborhood is. I take daily walks downtown to grab coffee in the morning or enjoy a relaxed dinner in the evening. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, take in the beauty, and enjoy the charm of this special place.
